    COL may be lower, but CS employers expect you to take 25% less pay to work in CS. If you both work and live in CS, you actually come out behind. If you can work in Denver and commute, or work from home, You will benefit from the lower COL. But winter commutes can be very treacherous and a huge waste of time every day.

      Totally agree, CS governance needs to realize they are NOT a small city anymore and pay accordingly. Imagine if there were a rail system from CS to Denver, nobody would work locally, I know I would not.

    We visited most of the Front Range cities and fell in love with Colorado Springs. We knew this was home when we saw the southern Front Range and Pikes Peak near Monument on I-25. As we stayed in Colorado Springs for two weeks looking around and getting to know the area - we were even more settled on this location. We are building in Wolf Ranch with an estimated closing in November. We are moving to Colorado Springs later this month (short term rental) in order to get the kids registered with school to avoid a mid-term transfer.
    I think you nailed the appeal of the Springs. Nearly everything is here but the big city is a short drive away - with better views than Denver or most of the suburbs. I am concerned about employment long term - but since my job is fully remote, I'm good for a while.
    On Tuesday (7/3), Orlando had a high of 97F with 97% humidity - it felt like a sauna - that you could never escape. Our home's robust A/C unit (5 ton) struggled to keep up (almost didn't make it). This is one of many reasons we are moving. My only regret is not doing this sooner.

    C.S. Is incredibly majestic, but it’s Uber conservative with fundies everywhere. Back room good-ole-boy deals are a reality.

    It's definitely worth noting that Colorado Springs is the epicenter of evangelical christianity in America - so if that floats your boat, great. But it's hard to avoid the plethora of mega suburban churches and religious organizations that call Colorado Springs home.

      "It's definitely worth noting that Colorado Springs is the epicenter of evangelical christianity in America..."
      Didn't know that but it's fine with me. While definitely not a church-goer myself, it's about time there's at least one major city in America that does NOT "celebrate" a godless/profane agenda of socialist/progressive liberalism.

    Colorado is (or used to be) one of the best states in the country and I still love it more than nearly any other.
    But I would never live in New San Franciso, errr, I mean Denver. It recently was ranked one of the worst run cities in the country and it's obvious to anyone who spends any time there why that's true.

    • @billredding2000
      @billredding2000 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's true of ALL liberal/Democrat-run cities/towns. I prefer Colorado Springs myself (leans conservative 60/40 I'm guessing), and would pass on (also liberal/Democrat) Boulder, Denver and Pueblo.
