Griffith Observatory's Foucault Pendulum in Los Angeles

Suspended from the center of Griffith Observatory's rotunda, the Foucault Pendulum sways from a 240-foot--long cable as the earth turns beneath it. The pendulum will knock over pegs at the the bottom of the pit as the hours pass, demonstrating the Earth's rotation.
