      why can't bass players just get a passive bass? FOH guy has all the tools needed to get the right tone, i don't see what benefits that active bases have other than a potential embarrassment when the battery fails

    Hey there! I am part of a production team as well! I am from Church of the Highlands all the way in Alabama! Super cool layout and love all the equipment! Very unique place to put the audio booth! Makes it a lot easier to stay in touch with the vocalists!

    Love getting to see any of Bethel's set up. You guy's keep it clean! I do have a question about FOH when you switched over to Logic from Waves. What interface are you using to get audio in and out to logic to run the Valhalla reverbs?

    I'd be thrilled to hear more about the audio side of things, including the players' point of view! Like how do you achieve a good feel for the band on stage with in-ear monitors...?
    Or what's the typical workflow for your audio engineers on sundays? And of course mic preferences etc etc...

      We don’t use any atem minis for weekend services. Only use them for streams throughout the week. Mostly as capture cards/video interface for zoom.

    Nice video, thanks guys. Can you please describe the signal flow between the FOH console, Waves server and Logic Pro X? I'm also very interested in the hardware, the channel count and the latency you have using Logic Pro.

      @@iAmPaulFehr Thanks for sharing! Are the subs LR or an array? Would be amazing if you could do a video on the PA and include details even of coverage with MAPP / Soundvision. I've not noticed any front fills so am curious about the coverage / experience for people worshipping right in front of the stage. We are blessed by the worship that comes out of that house and am grateful for all the efforts of the team there. Thanks again.

      @@bhuvansachdeva just LR subs, and there are two front fills for the front corners that are also flown.
      We don’t really need any front fills for the middle front. Thanks for the suggestion on a video on the PA and tuning, it would be cool!

    Man Bethel are so blessed!! I just wonder why they still use wired microphones? When they have wireless already. And they used wired mics for years, I only saw them using wireless last year

      Wireless vocal mic’s means more things to worry about. Wired works for us, we keep it clean.

    I would love to see some behind the scenes around the video content you produce. For example, a bit of a throwback but I loved the lyric video for starlight. I'd love to learn how that was created as well as some other clever video design from concept to finished product. I don't know if this is your arena or not but I would love to see how that stuff is made! Also I'd love to know the process behind the creation of the Visual Design for your LED walls, etc. Thanks!

    Hi Paul I have some questions related to lighting.
    1.what is the color temperature do you usually set key lights that are in chauvet R2 washes?
    2. Do you use Stanly McCandless rule for key lighting?
    3. How do you evenly spread fill lights during sermon?
    4. How do you merge both R2 and lekos colour temperature where it doesn't look different whenever the artists move around?
    5. How do you avoid shadows on the artist ?
    6. How do you merge both LED Screen and back lights intensities where they dominate each other where they look good?

      hey there, we have our key between 3200k-3600 for worship and its at 3600k for speaking. we don't use a rule, just have been doing the same process for years and know what the temp is at and what is the best temp for our cameras. We use source4 pars only to key the speaking.

      We use the Shure rechargeables for the Mics. We use normal ones for the IEMs. We replace them for every service.

    What capture card are you using for feed IMAG Screen on Resolume 7?

      We hardly ever use this function but it’s a BlackMagic Decklink

      The IMAG screens aren’t run through resolume. They go from the switcher, into an image pro jr for scaling (and slight color correction), out to the LED processors.
      I also have resolume outputs going to the switcher, so I can out resolume on the side IMAG.
      I do have a deck link card for when I do need inputs (or more outputs) in resolume.

      Why use logic for live plugin hosting over protools, or a something intended for live plugin hosting like liveprofessor?

      @@theswaan we also use logic to multitrack the band if we want to virtual sound check and logic let’s you have over 32 channels with nothing special. Protools is amazing but costs a lot more money for Protools HD and we aren’t mixing in it so no point in paying for it.

    What is a good interface to run Waves FOH???

      You’ll need a waves server to run waves with your console. Also you console needs to support waves and usually has a waves card slot option.

    This isnt a criticism or hate or anything just wondering- why use a full sized console just for the pres? why not use rackmount pres? are the ones on the console just a sound you cant find in rack units?

      That's my guess. They might have had an old console that they wanted to repurpose and loved the sound of the preamps. Makes sense to me!

      @@dleblanc The console (previously owned by Guns N' Roses as a cool fact!) was purchased long before I started working here. And I think it's because it used to be our recording studio, so we got a recording studio desk. Now it works as very nice preamps :)

      HORRIBLE! However, not everyone actually likes the sound of the north but mostly everyone really enjoys the feel of the Keys I can understand why but it’s so expensive but to them that’s like a $500 Keyboard for their budget. Sorry using talk to text.

      Interesting! I’ve never seen a graphic EQ in use at Bethel.
      PA is tuned on the galaxy in the main room, and Ashly processors in other smaller rooms, no graphic eqs to be seen.
