Every bit of info you provide is valuable. From the price per hour break downs, to the "copied link counts as a share" for you (and other smaller-ish creators) Thanks for all your efforts. My Friday evenings wouldn't be the same without your content. Much appreciated keep up the great work.👍
I should start mentioning the copy link tip again! I don’t have data on that, I stole it from TikTok but it makes sense to me. Thank you! I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the work I’ve been putting in, and I hope you’re having a good autumn 👍
@thubprint I typed you a novel in the comments I doubt you'll see it but if you see this what are the odds you would ever consider live streaming you favorite p.c. game .
@@rickgrimes7948 I’ll see if I can find it! I see most of the comments people leave but there isn’t much of a system for when or if I type replies 😅 I stream pretty regularly on discord but usually just apex or halo, I’ve never given much thought to being a “streamer”. I do think about making a discord for the channel tho!
@thubprint twitch is basically a fun environment where you have full control over whether you use a facecam or not and you have full control over who is or is not allowed to chat so if someone vile comes into chat you can ban them or assign a mod to and you can invite viewers along convo with you and each other while you play if you play if u choose and there is no requirement of content the interactions are so much more organic and personal and people pay good money streamers with a only handful of viewers can make a ton of money I would pay good money to watch you stream. Each streaming platform has its own quirks but my favorite is twitch but there is kick TikTok etc you can do one all or none ,just wanted to let u know
I scrapped metal 10 years ago, then got a truck driving job. New i have a new driving job that I'm home on the weekends, so I'm back at it. I love love, love, scrapping. I'm in Michigan, and I have been advertising on Facebook, I can hardly keep up lol 😊 you have taught me things by watching your videos. Some I knew some I'm like, well, I'll be. I also made business cards. Keep up the hard work which it is! 💪
We enjoy watching you figure out how to get things apart. Like you said it isn't always about whether or not to take things apart, but would it be fun! 😊
I just got an old fast food ordering kiosk, what was super cool were the touch screens (beyond the value of the steel and ewaste). I'm going to take them and build MAME arcade cabinets with them. My wife has always wanted a table top pac-man machine....now to build, mount and reformat the computers. I would never have started trying to scrap as much as I do if it wasn’t for you showing us how to do the thing. Thanks for all you do and go through showing us the reality of being capital environmentalists!!
They’ve been helping me too! It’s been a little rough for the past while now if I’m honest, but I tend to have a couple good days after getting out there and doing something novel or at least getting sweaty
@@thubprint Hard to hear you’ve had a rough patch, you seem so happy and full of gratitude. Sorry about that, hope you get your groove back. I’ve learned a lot from you, a positive influence too.
I have been buying bits from automotive and/or industrial supply stores. They are a dollar or three more expensive for a set of screwdriver/driver bits, but denser metal, longer lasting.
holy cow what a score, i definitely wouldn’t be processing anything, breakage in the truck steel on the trailer and make as many runs as possible per day
Happy for you Thub! Great score - and I totally feel you on the brass gear. Maybe if you stumble upon another in part three, put it aside and grind the gear free. Happy scrapping!
suggestion: you can always break the aluminums, with the sledge hammer as the last resource, I have managed to break aluminum wheels with the sledge hammer successfully so that way I can make more money vs. getting $5 dollars (American dollar) per aluminum wheel!
Hi Thub, this was so fun to watch! Hey, refer the negative ninnies to some of your old breakdown vs value videos. They need to be educated to understand...and you get the bonus views ;) 😊
I know that you are saying that it didn't pay to break it down, but I am prone to separate my metals. I just love doing it and yes you only got a little bit more money for the time. Just me, stay safe and see you on the next video
The way I look at it is if I'm processing scrap, it's done at a time when I wouldn't otherwise be getting paid. That time basically has no monetary value, so every pound I prep is a gain.
I wanted to keep them forever haha, but I’d stitched them up so many times and there wasn’t enough material left to hold any stitches! Couldn’t find exact replacements either, so here we are. A gift from a very thoughtful friend to the channel and me 😊
Personally I would have did dirty aluminum for all of it… or I would have cleaned them at my own pace. Meaning just when I’m bored or just for fun and have nothing to do. I wouldn’t have put actual full time and effort into it.thats kinda how I handle all my clean ups and wire stripping. Let it pile up then on rainy days… weekends or bored at night I go out and mess around in the garage. Doing it this way I feel like I’m not wasting time during my day. It’s just whatever. Although I do know u need to make videos so I get it. I really don’t chase stuff unless it’s copper and somewhat easy.
@@thubprint completely agree man. Love your content. This is my first season scrapping. I’m from Michigan so winter it really falls off here as well. But your content has really got me up to speed faster with the scrapping game. Appreciate it. Keep it up!
Thumbprint like yourself it would be nice seeing other scrappers with TH-cam channels take the time to try and maximize the dollar value of the scrap that they might find. Although I do understand it's all about the economics and time 😅
For three days' work, that's not a bad paycheck. I was thinking recently about getting $2.70/hr for a 40 hr week, back in the 1970s. Which pretty much sucked. Work that one out.
I see an arbitrage opportunity. I am getting almost double the price on Insulated #2 in Ontario and you are getting almost double the price on irony aluminum.
🤣 I feel like a lot of people have that reaction! If passing on making $5/hr so I can go fill the trailer again makes me lazy, I’ll carry that torch haha I think it was good to dig into it and find out though, it’s nice to know I’m using my time wisely rather than missing out on a good return

great price for the transformer
You should get a sds rotary hammer drill, the jack hammer mode with punches and chisel tips work wonders for driving out pins and jambed bolts.

So how did thub make his million.. well one bowl ally later lol. The score that keeps on giving.

Nahhh. At my yard too the price difference of dirty vs clean is so small that if a piece is a pain to clean, it's straight up not worth it.
