    ✅ About jlwii2000:
When I started my channel I did not choose a catchy name because I did not think that I would be a major model railroading video source one day, so I apologize for the strange name. My channel has a variety of info about Model Railroading in many scales, primarily HO scale. I try to respond to everyone's questions to help them along with their journey. Overall, I hope my relaxed yet descriptive approach to modeling will assist those new and old in this great hobby. - James

The winterization hatch is used to keep the radiators "warm" in the winter. It limits the amount of heated air being blown skyward. Has nothing to do with keeping stuff out. Rain & snow do get sucked into the side air vents. Dirt & debris may find their way into the fan boxes, mainly by being sucked in via the side air vents, it just means the filters aren't working.
The units have the "frames" for the diaphragms. Missing are the diaphragms proper and the foot plates for crossing between the units. The FTs came with them and the passenger versions of all F & FP units as well. On the MILW any unit put into freight service after being downgraded from passenger service quickly lost the diaphragms and foot plates. The key point is to always use dated photos when modeling as details can change over time.

HOPE they do Wabash again like on the first release years ago. Glad to see this model back as I always thought it was great to finally have paint schemes in N that one one else has touched. They did NYO&W for example- you’d never see Kato do that!

Those are really cool. I have some N scale, but my love is HO.
This is probably a loaded question, but who makes the best (especially HO scale) locomotives today? For years, my “go to” was KATO. Them being made and Japan with their exquisite quality, however, I’d have to say that KATO has not kept up with the others, such as Scale Trains, etc. when it comes to details.
Rapido seems to be getting as close to perfection as possible with how anal they are when it comes to something as simply as curves. I’m sure it’s hard to say, but there is just so much good stuff in this day and age with HO scale, and N scale model trains. I love it.
    Cheers

me too, I've got some N scale as I want a forced perspective N scale line off in the distance of my HO scale. Kato is indeed falling far behind others at this point.

The volume out of the box is really low compared to self installed LokSound 5 decoders

yes they have them in HO. The HO ones do have a DC version and I'm not sure about the S curve part. That can be tricky.
