Glad I saw this. The man is 100% believable. If you have ever seen something so rare and unexpected, it is a mix of emotions that you have to process and then try to convey to others. I know this first hand. I saw something in Gettysburg military park on a rainy evening well after sundown. My wife and I were parked at the base of Little Round Top. And we both saw a ball of light come up out of the ground about 2 feet off the ground. It moved to the left, then back to the right, went back to center, and closed down as it went back into the ground. She was really shook up and started to cry, and I was just in shock and almost disbelief as to what had just happened. I have always been careful who I told this too, because you know peoples first reaction is to not believe you. Just like this man says..."I know what I saw". I believe him.

Interesting to have found this comment. I am a natural skeptic of most things “supernatural” I didn’t believe in ghosts until I had an experience in Gettysburg PA that to this day I cannot explain in any rational manner.
I saw a ball move through the house about 5.5 feet above the floor. It barely cast light onto surfaces. It couldn't cast shadow since it couldnt cast light, but it did glow with a tight feathered edge and it was visible light to my and my ex's eyes. Amazing, pure white visible light like a street light but didn't light the wall hardly at all. About 10-13 inches in diameter.

Bob Gimlin very well did appreciate the amount of money he gained but even then he declined $1,000,000 to say it was a hoax because according to him “the creature was real and saying it was a hoax would be dishonest, which he wasn’t.” I’m not saying you’re experience with Gimlin isn’t true, but seeing the proportions and the fact the said suit is way better then anything at the time screams that it’s a real animal, yet the reputation of Patterson kind of ruins the film for some people.
Oh Bob is still looking good for his age. Can you just imagine what it would be like to be him and see what he saw! So cool. We Love you and so sorry that you had to deal with the nonbelievers.
I had the *GREAT PLEASURE* of meeting Roger and Bob at Sacramento City College in Nov. '67 right after they shot this *Historical* film; they were premiering the film at the college. I was able to talk to them after the film showing in a small group. Later in my experience as a seasonal employee of the Forest Service as a Surveyor Tech had many experiences of Bigfoot encounters over the time of living in the forest over a period of a year of living in remote areas!
I'm surprised there hasn't been a big screen adaptation made of this story yet. A true-to-life recreation of Roger & Bob's lives before the film, the day of the encounter, how their lives changed afterward (for better or worse), & of course the pop cultural impact of their experience.
That's an interesting point; it's probably because this film is still so divisive; a film adaptation of the whole story leading up to and including the making of this one-minute film and everything that happened afterward, would ultimately have to come out on either the "real" or "hoax" side, or it wouldn't satisfy any audience. As someone born in the 60s it's interesting to me how much staying power this film has had. I remember hearing about it a couple of times when I was a kid; once I think I saw a snippet of the film in a TV advertisement for some documentary feature. It was confusing to be because it was interspersed with close-up footage of "ape-men" that was obviously fake and made specifically for the documentary, yet I remember the announcer saying something about the film of the creature walking away in the distance being claimed by the filmmaker to be a real "Bigfoot", i.e., some strange creature that was not human. I learned a bit about it in 6th grade social studies class when we did a current affairs unit that covered mysteries and the paranormal, like UFOs, the Loch Ness monster, and Bigfoot. We were encouraged to be sceptical about it, just like other unprovable phenomenon like ghosts and ESP. I never gave much more thought to it until I saw the film again in an episode of the the A & E TV documentary series Ancient Mysteries, in the 1990s. It was shown at the end of a sequence of a number of other videotaped, filmed, or photographed claimed sightings of Bigfoot, all of which had long since been debunked as fakes or just cases of mistaken identity, eg. bears standing on their hind legs, or unusually-shaped tree stumps. It was presented as the only visual evidence that has still not be conclusively proven to be faked. The difference between it and all those other laughably unconvincing pieces of "evidence" was striking. I don't understand how do many people find it so easy to write this film off as just another hoax; they must just refuse to really look at it closely.

Over 50 years since they made the film public, and no one can debunk it. In fact, with every technological advancement in video stabilization, the added detail has only made the creature in the film more obviously real. We can see muscle groups flexing, the bare soles of Patty's feet, and her fingers curling and extending with each step -- thats movement of fingers and hands which hang on very long arms. These details have been studied by the experts in Cryptozoology as well and film making and special effects. Those 2 are both lying. They were debunked immediately. Did you see the joke costume they created? They just wanted money or fame by claiming they were involved.
The Patterson footage and this interview alone convinces me of the possibility of the existence of Sasquatch. I like to believe that Sasquatches are evolved descendants of the Gigantopithecus that crossed the Bering landbridge into the Americas from Asia.
Over 50 years have passed since the famous Patterson/Gimlin Bigfoot film,....it's been studied, analyzed and scrutinized by experts and skeptics alike....and still it passes all the scientific,..anatomical,. and animal characteristics criteria for being genuine.....my belief is that shaky, grainy footage on a sunny day in the fall of 1967, that lasts barely a minute is of a large female Bigfoot.......and that astounding clip as intrigued us all ever since.
I've always thought the Big Foot stuff made no sense (where are the bones of dead ones, etc.?) but this guy strikes me as an honest dude - that's just my gut, but. my intuition has served me pretty well over the years. If I had to bet, I'd bet he's just telling the truth. In '94 myself and some co-workers were close up with a massive UFO - and I never believed that stuff was real, really. That event really opened my mind. This fella sure comes across as having nothing to gain by lying, and, as a decent guy. When he said he wasn't out to prove they exist, he knows they exist - that's me, anymore, with UFOs and (apparently) alien life. This man just gave me a piece of wisdom. I know what I know and I'll never convince others - and that really doesn't matter, anyway.
I've listened to this man's story since I was a kid, he hasn't changed it in any way in the time I've listened to him. I really believe he and Roger saw something that day.
I agree, I've read about the case as a child, and see no reason to doubt its a real creature. Suits still haven't been made as good as the filmed subject, so I doubt 2 cowboys made a better one than Hollywood.
everything about this man's story, and his demeanor, his facial expressions, how he recounts the story.......it all strikes me as truth. he looks like he's recalling an actual event. and he doesn't strike me as a dilusional person, at all....just a salt of the earth, humble dude. given his experiece in the outdoors and hunting big game, he would know if it were a man in a suit (tho i realize he and patternson were the ones accused of that). he's about 20 yrs older than me and i sure hope i'm in this good of shape, mentally and physically, if i'm blessed to make it to that age. thank you sir for continuing to tell the story.
its amazing everyone asks for proof on film and when they get it people still cannot believe it this creature walked away not petrified but with distain for people disturbing it going about its own business the look back was a kind of saying keep your distance its power was unmistakable
At the time of this video, Bob was about 88 years old? He looks amazing and is as sharp as a tack! His memory of these events are related as if this just happened and has never wavered in his account. He doesn't try to convince anyone of the film's veracity and the details he remembers are too specific that it seems completely implausible that this was a hoax or an attempt at gaining anything.
@@aprilshepard8662 Right? I'll be 54 in January and I have VERY specific memories of the most important events of my formative years. You just do, especially if it's something that literally changes and shapes your life in very specific and permanent ways. I’m currently reading the book “Sasquatch,Legend Meets Science” by Jeff Meldrum. It is a comprehensive study of large ape species and how they could possibly relate to the existence of Bigfoot in North America.Whether you believe or not,it is a good read. I am certainly interested in the possible existence of Sasquatch, but I am still on the fence as to whether they truly do exist. But when people who have nothing to gain but ridicule come forward with their experiences,I can’t help but think they are being truthful.
I know, how in the world can we still, in 2024, have a giant ape species living in remote wilderness areas in the world, NOT YET scientifically identified/classified, but that is exactly what we have, believe it or not.
That's so true about the trees, It's one of the things I do when I go on a hiking hunt on large public lands and that's admire the colors of the trees in March and fall deer season, just beautiful. After seeing and hearing what I've encountered on my trips I have to say I believe him.

Glad I saw this. The man is 100% believable. If you have ever seen something so rare and unexpected, it is a mix of emotions that you have to process and then try to convey to others. And we both saw a ball of light come up out of the ground about 2 feet off the ground. It moved to the left, then back to the right, went back to center, and closed down as it went back into the ground. She was really shook up and started to cry, and I was just in shock and almost disbelief as to what had just happened. Even though people have spent thousands trying. Then there are hundreds of footprint casts showing unique dermal ridges and a so called metatarsal break and dimensions well outside of human norms. Then there are audio recordings that under professional analysis can be shown to not belong to any known creature. @@rjl1309 I disagree but very interesting info. I feel like they did catch something real but they dragged it out by talking to people after Patterson’s death.

That would be a DOPE film. Oh my god

#Netflix where you at !!
@@KathyPrendergast-cu5cithere’s a way they could make a film without it leaning on either side. they did it with the exorcism of emily rose and allowed the audience to decide what really happened.

But when people who have nothing to gain but ridicule come forward with their experiences,I can’t help but think they are being truthful.
nice. but ape is not a great theory of sasquatch. no primate dna has ever been found in thses areas with sightings
They are closer to human than ape. Humans mixed with an unknown dna sequence
I know, how in the world can we still, in 2024, have a giant ape species living in remote wilderness areas in the world, NOT YET scientifically identified/classified, but that is exactly what we have, believe it or not.
Who else listens to Sasquatch Chronicles??
thank you for putting up this wonderful interview
The legend still lives😮
Always nice to see Bob, our own bipedal Historical Landmark!
That's so true about the trees, It's one of the things I do when I go on a hiking hunt on large public lands and that's admire the colors of the trees in March and fall deer season, just beautiful. After seeing and hearing what I've encountered on my trips I have to say I believe him.
