- In the largely unexplored wilderness of Klemtu, a Native Reserve on the coast of Canada’s beautiful British Columbia, local residents have been telling stories for generations about Bigfoot. Klemtu Hill is an old volcano, it’s a sacred area and the Bigfoot reports here are in the hundreds. Something that is supposed to weigh 900 pounds has to leave a trail - whatever is there, it leaves tracks, makes sounds in the night, makes friends and helps people, abducts and even kills people. Les Stroud’s approach is to place himself in the hot spots, in the firing line, wherever there have been reports of sightings or strange happenings, in a tent, outside of a tent, with fire, without fire, inside of a cabin, walking on lonely roads, whatever it takes to provoke an encounter. Les’s quest is to make contact and in this wild place of abundance, where large animals could exist indefinitely, it is the unknown that keeps him coming back for more.

Survivorman Bigfoot was the coolest show EVER.
I'm not sure of the wisdom of knocking wood to provoke reaction. We don't really know Bigfoot communication but could knocking be communicating territory? Could a human being knocking be perceived as a challenge for territory? If they come to regard human beings as challengers it might not go well for anyone they encounter.
I stopped watching television when my daughter was born so i missed this and your new series. I've been a fan since that first episode, 20 years ago. You inspired me to learn survival. Been a great life.
I’m from port hardy and I was talking to two Klemtu residents the other day and they talked like it everyone from there knows it’s there, believes in it and have even seen it come right into the village
My encounter was in 1978 in Olympic NP. Some friends and I skipped school, drove south of Forks to the Hoh Rainforest. We parked, then grabbed our day packs and hiked a little way up the Hoh River Trail. We left the trail on the north side, and hiked through some small, mossy meadows until we were half a mile into the rainforest... a strange hike. First thing we noticed was something so weird that it took awhile to identify it... the utter silence... no bird or insect sounds at all. As we hiked further in, we noticed a smell that I can only describe as a foul combination of skunk, sulfur, and a garbage dump on a very hot day.
We sat on thick moss in a circle, in the middle of a small meadow surrounded by giant trees. Someone started handing out beers, and I started rolling a joint, which took a while since I had to remove seeds first. I loaded the cleaned and crumbled weed into the paper, and as I was licking the glue I looked up from my lap and into the forest.
My friend John, who was sitting next to me, whispered, "Jesus, what the hell..." About 10-12 feet high, peering out from behind a giant cedar, was the head of a sasquatch. It was looking at us.
It seemed to exude intelligence and wisdom. I didn't feel threatened. I could see that it was simply watching us.
John said, "There's bigfoot watching us." I looked over at Eve, who is a member of the Quilleyute Nation, to see her reaction. She didn't appear distressed, but only said, "We need to leave. Don't panic. Stay calm. We just have to go somewhere else." The sasquatch wasn't there when I glanced back, and I did feel a moment of panic. The face was gone. Where did it go?
I put the joint in the baggy, stuffed it into my shirt pocket, we grabbed our beers and left. On the way back to the trail, it was hard keeping that panic at bay and to walk slowly and calmly.
Part of my panic, I think, is because my worldview had just been shattered. I had rolled my eyes too many times when listening to other people's bigfoot stories in the past. And around Forks, WA, you can hear plenty of those stories. Now, I don't merely believe, I actually KNOW.
In my opinion, formulated after copious reading and discussions with other witnesses, if you want to meet sasquatch, head to the rainforests (Hoh, Queets, & Quinault) of WA's Olympic Peninsula. That's sasquatch central. Just be casual about it, because if finding bigfoot is foremost on your mind, you probably won't see it. It's like other wild creatures who can sense your intentions (threat assessment) in that regard.

@@rogerantisdel2313 They were drinking, it was supposed to be light and fun. I don't think Rogan meant to be rude, it just came off that way because he was already drunk/high. I am a skeptic of Big Foot, but I actually like Les S.'s approach because it ACTUALLY makes sense. He spends so much time out there, he's got cameras, he's capable of lugging those cameras, I mean truthfully - there is never anything wrong with investigating things. Yes, we can turn up our noses, but if there is a good percentage who actually do believe in it, why NOT disprove it? And who better than our boy? That wasn't Rogan's best moment but he clearly respects him to have him on. He's had relatively unknown underground rappers on and I know for a fact he did that ONLY because he was interested in them rather than chasing views. Rogan is good peoples. Imagine you were on a camera as much as him, I know I def. would have said some dumb sh*t already

1959 I was 12 years old. My dad was stationed at Fort Lawton in Magnolia Hills Seattle Wash. during the summer my parents
Sent me to camp on an island on Puget Sound. Three nights into camp, sitting around a campfire, the lead counselor told us (about 45 young girls) to stand up slowly and walk in a line to our cabins. The cabins were open door with bunk beds. The counselors bed was in the middle. About 30 minutes lying in the dark, I saw a huge 7 or 8 feet person covered in matted hair, twigs stuck all over his hairy body. I thought it was human. Stood straight up. Breathing heavily he came in and sat down on the middle bed which the counselor was in. He sat there 5 min tires. Snorted and left. We were frightened out of our wits. The next day 45 girls called their parents and camp came to a close. So it wasn’t a camp prank because even the counselors went home. They were only 18-19. To this day I am convinced it was something we have never seen before.

I’m am from a north eastern tribe in Australia, what we once called paradise as you could drink from any water hole . I hope they never get hold of the big fellas because only bad can come of it . Just let them be, they keep the bush land clear of things much worse, including us . Cheers
Les, it's interesting you should mention clam digging. One of the more interesting sasquatch stories I heard was actually embedded in an indigenous ecology and human-environmental relations video as part of an enviro policy degree program. The video was about clam gardens, arrangements of rocks along the shoreline that have developed over the millennia with human (and, according to the natives, sasquatch) assistance, where more nutrients catch and pool up and make for rich clam beds, as you describe. Most of the video, though, was this elder talking about Sasquatch and how much they love clams, and especially snails. Apparently, according to this guy, their favorite food on the coastlines is turban snails. Thanks for doing this series, survivorman has helped me in many ways in my life, and the totem of (and obsession with) sasquatch has been with me since I was a little kid and read Greene's books from the school library when I was 7. I didn't live anywhere near sasquatch then, but as an adult I've moved to the PNW, on the Olympic Peninsula, where I've had many sasquatch encounters personally and have talked to countless people here who have had experiences, one gal who is very close to my family who has a family of them that comes through her property sometimes. If you ever do another survivorman: bigfoot series, you owe it to yourself to do it on the Olympic Peninsula, where the macaw people sometimes affectionately call them 'silverbacks' because of the way the dew forms on their backs in the morning light.
For decades govt. researchers thought the "clam beds" were naturally occurring phenom. In fact, they were owned and maintained for decades and passed down!! Of all foods, clams and snails are pretty much guaranteed to be there; most other foods including the oil rich Oolican run in the first part of the spring (the first protein after a lean winter) were seasonal.

I use to live in Two smal towns off of the. Columbian. River on the Washington. State in Clark County. And I meet Allot of Truthful People That had seen allot of Bigfoots Close to Saint Helen Mountain. I do believe in these people..

I am half Athabascan indian and live In Anchorage, AK. My mom was the President of my corporation through all of my young childhood up to about 20 year old man, and we constantly traveled and stayed in the copper river valley and in my village called Chitina about 250 miles out in the Alaskan wilderness. When I was about 19 and the mother of my child was 18 we went for a drive at dusk, as my mom and others stayed in the Chitina hall. I had heard all kind of tales since I was little from my people about the "Bush Indian", our SAsquatch. I never really believed any of that nonsense until that night we took a drive in the dusk and crossed over the mighty Copper river. On our river we have giant fish wheels that catch the salmon. There on the fishwheel we saw it, stealing salmon from the fishwheel. I have never seen anything that big and that ran to the treeline with the speed of a race horse. I never doubted the old stories again. And I now enter the deep woods in Alaska with an all new respect...or fear. Because in my peoples tales the Bush Indian takes people, especially children , away to feast on them. And they are not the 7 foot tall curious standoffish Bigfoot of the Washington area. Here they are Bigger, and meaner. An entire thriving community of 300 people eventually evacuated the city of Port Chatham/Portluck because of people going into the woods to hunt and never coming back. Or men being found completely dismembered, not like a bear would or could do. You can look up the true stories of Port Chatham online, and see the town that left their homes behind...just to survive.

Mr. Ballen (youtuber) did a video on Portlock AK. Nothing there but a small shed in front of the trees, but it's got it's stories. I grew up in BC near Kitimat, south of you, and we used to have an old Indigenous minister come to our elementary school (Father Williams) and he would tell us lots of stories about the Raven and Killer Whale, and he also made mention of the hidden things in the forest, of which we were all curious about, but he never elaborated as we were just kids.

I am very skeptical of most people who say the have seen Bigfoot or call themselves Bigfoot hunters. But with Les Stroud, someone who I have grown to respect, talks about Sasquatch you better believe I’m going to listen!!

@@jtunderwood5545 Todd's videos of bf are such good quality next to the Patterson film, when most all others are not, makes it hard to believe credible. Like you say about Les, if he can get proof it will be more accepted. Also I think they seem to show themselves to people who are not out for the sole purpose of finding proof. Maybe that is the tactic researchers need to take. And I would never take my wife and kids out on a bf hunt!

I had the opportunity to go with Todd on one of trips but my mother passed away the day before my flight was scheduled to leave. If I could’ve went I would’ve had an opinion about Todd but atm I don’t. Les looks at everything with an open mind until he makes his own decisions. That’s a good way to look at life in general

I took my “dream vacation” to this EXACT area as a 40th birthday present to myself about 10 years ago for a 4-day guided fishing tour with some buddies. Primarily for salmon and halibut. We hired a First Nations guide for the trip and true to what’s been said before, he politely declined to discuss anything about Sasquatch. Given the fact I’m from Florida and am used to the scenery of our area, the scenery in this area is absolutely breathtaking. Despite that, I’d never go in these woods at night carrying nothing but a backpack and pocketknife. No way, no how! This particular place is really off the grid and as you saw, Les had to take a small pane to get there. I had to do the same. I stayed at a fishing camp and kept the windows open at night. The wildlife sounds were scary enough and kept me awake most of the nights, much less these guys going out and actually seeking out big scary creatures. That’s balls of steel right there. No way, no how would I ever do that.
BC Ferries has a stop in Klemtu - seven to eight hours from either Prince Rupert or Port Hardy. It is a very popular area for kayakers but yes oh yes, this area is very remote as you say. As remote as anything along our north coast or SE Alaska.

Ild rather watch Les and not see anything, than to watch the Hollywood versions of other shows. With Les, I get to appreciate everything. Not just the primary goal. Les has a unique way of bringing the flora and fauna alive, as well as deliver it straight to my world.

@@MrThatnativeguy That was 150 years ago. They have been bringing dead mountain gorilla bodies back to Europe since at least the late 1800's early 1900's. We now have cars, planes, drones. Every single person has a camera in their pocket at all times. Night vision, infrared, satellite imagery. What i am saying is one man with a gun went to Africa and killed two mountain gorillas. That easy. Before any modern technology. Currently the entire world with all of its technology is looking for Bigfoot and we have had zero success. Not one body. Not one bone. Not one credible image or video. Not one obvious heat signature. Not anything. Kind of weird. I hope they are real. I want them to be. Right now we have more credible evidence for aliens and UFO's than we do Bigfoot.

I’d disagree about credible heat signatures and DNA. We have a number of “unknown ape species DNA” found in North America. DNA that does not match any known species. We also have footprints with dermal ridges that have been analyzed by legit scientists (profs of anatomy and anthropology) and even FBI analysts who specialize in fingers prints etc,, who say they are the real deal (ie., not a hoax) whether humans running around with HUGE feet and odd anatomy (the metatarsal bends the opposite way) or “Bigfoot.”

Yep. Men got to protect himself bc, if he don't, no one else will. Although,
so called bigfoot ( a pet name ) don't need any protection. You can't hurt them. They are absolutely not afraid of you or any men. We need protection from them and not the other way around. It's just a thing people keep telling themselves so, that way, they can feel more at easy / comfortable in the mountains.
I was camping at Yoho Lake a few years ago and right after sunset when the temperature always suddenly drops there was this massive gust of wind that went through the area. A few seconds after it died down there was this massive crashing sound as a big tree must have come down not too far away. I understand Les's reaction when the tree came down by him because it humbles you. Nature is powerful.

I'm a Footer from North Dakota but I've been all over the place. Maine, Oregon, and Idaho, is where I've had my own encounters and experiences. 3 good sightings, wood knocks, boulder and rock throwing, tracks 👣, buck snort with running heavy and rock throwing. I've camped from Alaska, Maine, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Texas, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, California, Wyoming, Montana, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, New York, Illinois, New Mexico, and Washington. Korea, Yukon Territory, and British Columbia. A dozen lakes, rivers, and streams and no drinking problems. I love being outside, even when I'm home. Love you Les!

I can't stop watching these! I grew up in Walla Walla, WA. It's right on the edge of the Blue Mountains. One of my high school buddies lived up a creek a few miles out of town. He had one stand up in the trees at the edge of the road as he was riding his motorcycle home. He told people what happened. A story appeared about it in the local newspaper and for the rest of the year all the kids at school called him "Bigfoot".

Les , aka the Survivor man, is the man! My dad and I always loved his show; he was the real deal. His (so called) peers, Bear, used a crew and artificially created drama. Concerning Big foot, Les by far has the credibility (and a sterling reputation). Thus, he's the go to source on the North American ape phenomena.

Some supportive info: I worked with a man who poured concrete footers and foundation walls for private homes in the dead of winter. It used to flip me out a little on those 20 degree days (and colder) he wouldn’t wear gloves. Wasn’t sure of his race or background but the guy had capillaries in his hands (and probably feet) that rivaled indigenous Alaskan peoples. Most of the time he just wore layers of heavy shirts but my point is to point out humanoid footprints in the snow or semi frozen ground! If people can hack the cold so can those creatures. The skeletal remains of a spine looked mostly to be for your benefit. The instincts kick in - they or it knew something was up and they knew you know how to read the wilderness Les. Something else, i know it;s your preference but why do this alone? The apples on the beach would have done you better with a trail cam so I’m a little set off by that.

Same thing happened to us last fall 2 hours north of Montreal! Sitting there on a beautiful night and a huge tree came down about 50 ft from our camp! Lol Later that night I heard laughter which freaked me out ! Peace brother

The Bigfoot series always gave me this odd feeling when watching the episodes.
Les is good at producing a sense of drama by his words and tone of voice, especially since nothing happened throughout this video.

Les is 100% honest,I would rather hear both sides instead of just the I know they are there but haven't seen one yet theory ! Oh,and one more thing.If their is ever a clear sighting or footage,I hope Les is the one who captures it !
Yeah I'm a pretty solid believer just from my own experiences of prints and strange occurances, but at the end of the day I want real evidence and not just an echo chamber and I'm happy that he comes at it as a skeptic. I've had pretty solid evidence (prints, a huge ball of branches and sticks appearing in our camp) and some iffy evidence at best (strange calls that I have decided were probably a barred owl which I'm not used to hearing, screeching howls that are certainly not coyotes, but then I catch a mountain lion on my trail cam that Tennessee still doesnt officially recognize existing in Tennessee lol) I love how he approaches it, he doesn't want iffy or subjective evidence. He wants prints, footage, DNA.

Things happen when you are in the woods alone. I was walking back to my truck in the Sierra Nevada along an old railroad grade. I paused to take a drink. As I stopped, I heard what sound like quite steps in the forest up the slope from where I stood where the grade crossed a ravine. They stopped about four steps after I stopped. I stood listening, and an odor like all the vegetables in the drawer in the refrigerator had gone bad came drifting down the ravine. For the next half mile / kilometer I would hear those steps up the hill, stopping when I stopped. At ravines if I stopped and waited, the odor would come down the ravine. The odor was doubly odd because the common ground cover was bear clover which has a strong odor and tar that sticks to boots and pants through several washings. It can be smelled whenever the plant is disturbed. No odor of bear clover accompanied the odor of rotten vegetation.
I wish Les Would do a follow up a so part 2. Great stuff Les!! I always loved watching his show's. Then the Bigfoot special was a must!! I believe....

The scientific method is tainted when the observer is involved in the research in any way, other than observation.
Also, I think when people are alone they are naturally more vigilant, so perhaps BF can sense that and is just observing the observer.

Les, I think it is worth doing another series on the subject. With time comes experience and knowledge. You have both.
He keeps saying that he is going to do another season of shows… But it hasn’t materialized yet. There is obviously massive interest in it on the viewer side. My guess is, he’s looking for some network or streaming service to fund the project. Which, I can’t imagine that someone like Netflix or Amazon, or even Peacock wouldn’t gobble the chance up. Though, they probably want ownership or a majority stake in publishing rights that Les isn’t willing to give up.
Notice that Les is publishing and distributing all of his work under his own name here on TH-cam. It’s because he was smart when he signed his original deal, which, judging from his ability to publish everything he’s ever done here… Suggests that he brilliantly negotiated complete ownership and future publishing rights of his continent… Which allows him to distribute and make complete profit from his work.
Not many people are forward thinking when it comes to business like this. They focus on the now and are just excited to get a show green lit on TV. Not thinking of future publishing and the ability to profit off of the work you had already done. Which, generally, ends up, screwing a lot of people out of a lot of money. The fact that he had the sense and the understanding of how broadcasting and publishing works, shows how brilliant Les is… Because now, him, his wife, his kids and grandkids can benefit and profit off of all of his past, current and future content. Which, I assume he would be profiting 100% off of it. Of course, bar any costs associated with filming, editing, and promoting his videos.
Regardless, it will be interesting to see what he does, when it comes to some more content based off of Bigfoot. Whether he will find a partner in order to help promote and publish it, or do it all on his own… On his dime, which gives him complete control over every second of content he produces. though I don’t think that has ever been a problem, because it seems like he’s always had complete control over everything he’s done. As witnessed in all of his past videos where he doesn’t pad the content with unnecessary strategic breaks and re-caps in order to essentially promote the broadcast version of Clickbait. Making you think that you’re going to miss something or something big is going to happen before or after a commercial break.
Meaning that 100% of everything he does is original content and not 8 to 10 minutes of padding because you don’t have enough interesting material to produce 20 to 24 minutes worth of content for every 30 minutes of broadcast time(with 6 to 10 minutes of commercial breaks to pay the bills). Which is the beauty of streaming services like TH-cam, and others… Where, unless you are taking on sponsors yourself, you don’t have to account for those breaks. TH-cam, I believe, just randomly inserts commercials for those who don’t pay the $10 a month for commercial free. Which I absolutely recommend, if you are a connoisseur of TH-cam content. it saves so much time and because more and more broadcast companies are putting their programs on TH-cam… It makes it one of the cheapest, commercial free if you pay the $10 a month, content services out there.
A lot of movie studios are starting to jump on the bandwagon also. Putting their less than AAA franchises directly to services, like TH-cam, because it makes them more money, and gives them direct access to more people than theaters or television ever could. Especially now, that more people stream, then pay for cable television. In any case, sorry, I just turned into something so long winded… But it was kind of an explanation of why it may be taking so long for Les to put out more Survivorman Bigfoot content. As, I’m not sure how much time he spends in any one place making an episode. I’m sure there’s got to be a lot of research put into it, to find the people in the area to interview who have had sightings and possibly interaction. On top of that, I’m sure it takes at least a week of being in that one location in order to film everything they need to and possibly get the interaction they are looking for… If any.
With the airfare, car rental, equipment purchase or rental, insurance, and everything else they need in order to make even one episode possible. I’m sure it can be quite costly, especially if the location is national or international. It seems like Les generally has just one or two people with him to help with production/filming. To keep it more authentic and less produced. Which, if he is paying out of his own pocket… And not doing so with a network flipping the bill… which only starts being profitable the day he hits X amount of views and that is just breaking even. From that point on out, then every view, and every cent would be profit. But how long is it taking for each episode to gain that many views and how much profit is he making and is it worth the time and effort to do so?
That is ultimately the question and something that Network affiliation solves immediately, by flipping the bill upfront and paying Les and his crew a salary per episode or per season. So that he doesn’t have to eat the costs and take the risk upfront. Even though based off of the Fanbase, he already has, and the interest in the subject matter… I don’t think it would be that much of a risk. I would love to know how much it cost him to film each episode and how long he stays in any given area in order to capture the footage he needs for that half an hour or so. I would love for him to do longer episodes, in that hour and a half to two hour range and spend a month or more in each location. Which gives a lot of time for any interaction to happen.
I’ve also messaged him, and mentioned from my observation of watching thousands of shows on the subject… That it does seem like they are migratory and hitting an area in the late spring throughout. The summer is probably the best chance of capturing anything on film. Simply because the berries are growing and maturing. Not to mention, I would love to see him go to the cabin on Snelgrove lake. there in Canada and see if he can experience what so many before him have… And that is the rockthrowing and banging on the cabin. From what I have seen from the videos before, people like Jeff, Meldrum seem completely terrified of incidences that they have personally witnessed there.
With Les’s ingenuity, and better understanding of the environment and animals associated with it… I think we would get a better look at the cabin in the area around it. It would be awesome if he could stay for a month or more. Giving the best chance, throughout the summer, to capture, whatever he can get. From what he has stated in the past, the owner of that cabin charges a small fortune to stay there. Because of the Notoriety, it has garnered over the years for these interactions. Which seem to happen fairly commonly. So, I think staying there for an extended period of time would probably be a very costly endeavor. But I think, based off of its past, and what other scientist and the such have experienced… It would be one of the best, needle in a haystack, locations they could stay at.
One that would probably be one of the most viewed and profitable videos here on TH-cam. But again, I think he would have to stay there for more than two weeks in order to get a clearer picture and the best chance at getting anything on film. I think the people who came before him, stayed for a few days to a week, max. So staying anything around the same time or less would be scientific backpedaling. we’ll see. Hopefully we’ll get some more of these sooner than later. Maybe he’s already working on them or has been for a decent portion of 2022 so that we can have more than 2023.

I have to say that I loved when this happened. Les coming in to investigate this whole ordeal. For those of us who have seen this Mythical creature. Wicked as well as beautiful the makeup of these Elusive and Evasive beasts. When you see one your life changes forever in that moment never to be the same. It took me 20 plus years before I let my encounter known. Out of fear of being told I was Crazy. The Fact is you cant unsee what you see.

I remember seeing the look on Les face with the polar bear track so close to where he was sleeping didn't seem nearly as scared as that tree falling I am trusting his judgement something seems like it was there. He is smart enough to know even with all his wilderness skills he is not at it's level
