I live in Willow Creek, and grew up about 30 miles downstream from Hoopa, on the Klamath river , I'm a member of a neighboring tribe.
I've seen footprints that could only belong the creature called "Bigfoot" in the forest.
Then my wife and I encountered the creature itself one afternoon in a place we call "the high country".
    I'll never forget that day.

Les, I went on a fishing trip many many years ago to Elsas Ontario, down the Nemagosenda towards Chapleau.
I was 14 and went into the woods behind the isolated cabin we were staying at on the river.

My dad (Korea-era sniper) and I spent many an enjoyable hour debating the effectiveness and accuracy of Les' survival methods. One point we agreed on was this: You can take Les' word at face value. Period. Nothing more, nothing less. If he says you can boil water in a plastic bottle, you can (but it takes some fiddling around to get it positioned right.) If he says you can eat this "weed," chow down without fear.
My dad passed before the Bigfoot episodes aired. It's sad, because he would have enjoyed them very much, as I have.
    Les, thank you!

@@RrealHumdingerR absolutely! This goes far far beyond a “tin foil hat” lunatic conspiracy theory, Sasquatch is just as real as bears and mountain lions to a lot of indigenous American communities, and to thousands of hunters trappers fisherman, the people that actually know the land and get out into the vast expanses of the forest that these pencil pushing scientists just do not venture to. They are out there, I’m quite sure of that. There’s substantial evidence, hard to catch them on camera for a lot of reasons but they do get caught on camera sometimes

Camping trips with Survivorman sounds like a bucket list objective. The stories this man could tell, the scary experiences that you alone have witnessed would be the best campfire chatter. Honestly, Les Stroud is such a wholesome and truthful guy, a rare breed in the entertainment industry. Being cut out of taking the b-roll and beauty nature shots must have been hard to handle, you always did a great job with them. Would love to see more series of this sort from Les.

I have also experienced things that I could not explain, and have spoken with people I respected that had their own encounters. Still, not every broken tree, or knock in the woods is Bigfoot. Les has a very balanced, rational, and fact-based view of Bigfoot that is refreshing and enjoyable.

Lifelong hunter and fisherman here from the Midwest, anyone that spends a lot of time in the woods has had that feeling where the hair stands up on the back of their necks, and everything goes quiet. I’ve seen cougars in areas where the state DNR’s deny there is any.same with a Timberwolf in a small town in Iowa. I’ve also heard too many first person accounts of sightings of Bigfoot from reliable trustworthy people to discount their experiences.

I agree with you ! I've lived in California and Idaho , been all over Oregon and Nevada also. 3 years ago myself , wife and 2 daughters observed 5 wolves outside of Crescent City ... State parks , fish and game both said..."We don't have wolves". Right before my dad passed away 2.5 years ago I was able to buy a few acres in Northern CA , close to Tahoe National Forest. I've believe in Bigfoot my whole life , mostly because my father was close to many Native American Elders and they all spoke of Sasquatch as well as old tales of Giants... 2 distinctly separate beings. March of this year around 10pm
Full moon I heard a Bigfoot yelling from 2 miles from my property....All the dogs were going nuts! The volume of the vocalization was just so powerful. It was something I'll never forget.

    • @roguewolf7053
      @roguewolf7053 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I grew up & still live on 98 acres that are mostly wooded or covered in thick brush located deep in the DeSota National Forest in southern Mississippi. Our property is bordered directly by National Forest on 2 sides. I’ve seen black panther & timber wolves with my own eyes despite all the professionals claiming those animals aren’t here. To be clear, I saw wolves before they “reintroduced” them here roughly 15-20yrs ago. So I personally don’t trust that the official nature specialists always know exactly where all animal species are or aren’t. And if they can be wrong about things like that despite stating it with absolute certainty…what else may they be wrong about? Before I became disabled I spent a LOT of time deep in the woods hiking, hunting, canoeing the many creeks/rivers that flow through deep forest & helping with search & rescue of those lost in the forest. And I’ve heard & seen a lot that I have no explanation for. Many people in this area have similar stories of experiencing seeing or hearing the same things over multiple generations. My dad told me about many of the things he saw, heard & experienced over the years that have no “normal” explanation & he was as common sense, grounded in reality as anyone I’ve ever known. I’m not just talking about Bigfoot either. I was actually with my dad on several occasions when we saw & heard things that didn’t match anything known. When it happens once…you can brush it off as your brain playing tricks on you by trying to make sense of something briefly seen. But when you see the same things repeatedly in the same areas…that excuse no longer works. Even more so when other people you know & trust also admit to seeing/hearing the same sort of things.

We camped at Aikens Creek campground, only a half-mile from where Bluff Creek flows into the Klamath, and had it all to ourselves. We had a lot of funny moments and one bona fide scary night along Bluff Creek, encountering a sudden smell at the same moment something started gruffly barking at us. Along the Klamath, we found three foot-shaped impressions in the soft dirt, spaced about 4 feet apart. We also hiked around Fish Lake: that seems like the best campground to really be close to Bluff Creek. Plus there were huckleberries as big as small grapes.

Mr Stroud, you may never read this but I truly appreciate you and what you do. I have always said, if you want to learn how to survive watch Les, if you want to know what special forces would do, watch Bear. I feel Bear knows his business but if your average Joe went out with him they'd not make it back. If they went with you they would make it back and better for the wear. I've noticed in the director commentaries you comment on the people that don't enjoy exactly what you are doing. As a creator myself I know it's important to listen to the audience but some people just want to complain. To me, in this oversaturated world, that just means the content is just not for them. Thank you again Les for all that you have done to share the wisdom and knowledge of the great wilderness and survival. Thank you for being you through and through.

  • @jamesbarfield8477

Keep up the good work Les, it’s the little clues that begin the journey. The sounds, feelings, strange unexplainable structures in places no one would ever be. Sounds and footfalls in the night that don’t fit with any other animal. Then there’s the footprint out of place, barefoot when no one in their right mind would be going barefoot. Then the deer runs, herds in the same area as the footprints. Then if you’re lucky having traveled miles through the woods and then about to exit the woods and return to the world, you might want to turn around and look back and you just might see something like a dark shadow, a hump, blending into the background, the hill, the forest, black and big like a boulder or tree stump. Then as you give it a moment, it moves and is suddenly up and gone back into the woods. It followed you while in the forest, shadowing your journey curiously watching from a safe distance your every step, and yep, then you’ll know exactly what that was. No yelps, no whoops, no terrifying screams, no knocks, just a silent curious animal stalking you through its territory.

I have heard a lot of people say they have seen Bigfoot, but they had no credibility to me. But from the beginning, when this series started, I said If Les said he saw Bigfoot I would believe it, there would no longer be any doubt in my mind the it exists. You have 100% credibility in my book.

Since Monsterquest (which for some reason was cancelled way before Finding Bigfoot..which is garbage), basically the only decent bigfoot show is Expedition Bigfoot. I recommend that one. Les's show was great and needs to continue.

This was my favorite Bigfoot episode and now it's even better with you giving the back story. It is not a hoax, it's real and I've heard many of the same noises when I was hiking in and around Banff Alberta Canada. Keep up the amazing work Les!

Where’s the evidence of a sustaining population of Bigfoot? If the truly did exist we would find evidence that’s more than rando dudes stories and hearsay. most of them are hoaxes and the others are just mistakes made by human imperfect perception.
