You have to plug the receiver into your phone, and that turns the mic on, and then you can start recording audio directly to the sd card in the mic. Long press the button on the mic to turn it off. Press it again and it will go to solid green and begin recording. You have to have the receiver plugged in for it to work. Mine’s going to be for sale.
Yes! However, that is why I always advertise that little Usb-C male to USB c female adapter! This adapter allows you to use this microphone with pretty much any phone case
I am sorry for the late as heck reply. So yes as soon as you turn the microphone on no matter if it is connected to anything or not.....as long as you have an SD card in it, it will record whatever is going on the moment you turn the microphone on. It will record till you turn it off. So these will make great audio recording devices without needing to plug anything into anything. Just turn one of these mics on with a memory card inserted and it will just record.
That is correct. As long as you have a memory card in whichever microphone, it saves any sound onto the microphone. You can press the power/pause/play button to start and stop recording. With the proper memory card reader/adapter, you can unload your audio files from the memory card to your cellphone, laptop/computer or anything else similar. It's very easy to use.
You've read my mind @ using it for motovlogging because I thought about doing another video with it motovlogging. If you are talking about the DJI Action 3 being able to lower it's gain internally while using this microphone? The answer is Yes. It's range is -12db to +20db. I've remastered this video with a very similar thumbnail where I was riding my Segway in windy conditions so you could hear this microphone out when it is windy. I DID have this microphone mounted on my hoodie string with the deadcat on. DJI Action 3 gain was set to +15db and I had the noise reduction feature of this Ulanzi mic set at the "low" setting. This microphone DOES NOT have a "labeled" db setting. It only has noise reduction settings (low, medium, high) and volume settings (low, medium, high). These settings make subtle changes and even yet and still....I feel this microphone is waaaaaay too sensitive for motovlogging audio unless you use it to do voice over audio. I don't know what camera you are using for the footage but depending on the bike you are using, the best best audio setup I've ever had for autovlogging is using my Sena 20S (comes with many adapter cables) and use those adapter cables to plug the actual Sena unit to my GoPro inside of the media mod. This setup actually allows me to use the build in microphone of the Sena headset as the microphone for the audio source for my GoPro footage (very clean audio!). The second best audio I've tried so far is putting a windslayer over the GoPro in it's standard form (no media mod) and just riding this way. This actually worked well below 60mph riding my electric scooter and I could still hear myself talking with just very little wind noise in your footage if you set your GoPro's wind settings to "ON". If your bike doesn't have a windscreen, I would say a windslayer would make your audio bearable till about 65+mph. If you have a windscreen, speed won't matter unless you're triple digiting it.
Does the receiver fit the action 3 without the cage ok? I'm looking for a mic for the action 3 that I can get audio of landscapes and ambient sounds like that with the video

If you can plug a microphone to the pocket 2 but it has to be a USB-c microphone YES is your answer. This microphone works with with your Usb-C cellphones, laptops, tablets, cameras. So this absolutely will work with your Pocket 2 if your pocket 2 uses USB-C for a microphone input.
