      You know.....that really really means a lot. Thank you very much for the kind words! I try to do more in depth videos when it crosses my mind because I care.
      I look at alot of more mainstream reviewers and I don't blame them for not going more in depth. Yulanzi doesn't sponsor my videos or anyone for that matter. So I have to take the time, the money and the resources to do it. Sometimes these videos take days, weeks to put together.
      Between my day job driving trucks and trying to balance off work time to shoot footage and still see my friends and edit videos I am exhausted.
      Mainstream guys also are doing high profile jobs, trying to fulfill all of their sponsor videos etc etc. I haven't seen a video on how to actually use this thing so I figure I'd do it. It really isn't a bad microphone kit. I am waiting for a weekend where I can try to motovlog with it and show my settings in the video. I am sure a lot of people will want to know how it does in a noisy helmet so I have time for that and I am accessible to answer questions on it Incase I wasn't clear enough in the video

      And like I said. When you open the case and see the green light slow flashing on either microphone, it's ready to record. You single press that play/pause button on the side of the microphone and when You see that blue light flashing quickly, that means it is recording internally. And that 44hz quality sounds great

    Thank you very much for your work! Watching from Ukraine, Kiev. This video is the best on youtube! ❤️ You really helped me to understand my new microphones. Very well told and shown. This is what I need!
    I got the internal memory of the microphones sorted out. Everything works clearly. But I am very new to this technology and I still have probably the dumbest question.
    The receiver in Android is on. To make a voice recording on the phone, do I have to turn on video recording? How to record only audio file without turning on video recording? Is this possible?

      Yes. Do you have Snapchat? I can show you in a very short video clip. My name on Snapchat and Instagram is Jonasegway.
      Otherwise.....you might already have a voice recorder in your phone.
      - go to the main screen of your android phone
      - at the top is a search bar. Type in "voice recorder" in that search bar. If you have a voice recorder app in your phone, use that to record your voice recordings and your phone should automatically use your Ulanzi microphone for the audio!
      - if you do not see a voice recorder app, download one in the app store (the voice recorder I use has a red icon and it Is made by Samsung).

    one question:
    when you connect the receiver to dji action 3 (the receiver plugged-in/connected)
    can you hear the sound when you playback your recorded video?

    • @Jonasegway
      @Jonasegway  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are talking about if the Action 3 will play the audio from your recording while the Ulanzi receiver is plugged into that Action 3, the answer is no the sound will not playback with the video if you have the receiver plugged in.
      With the receiver plugged in, the Action 3 seems to think you are using a USB-c device and disables the audio for the playback.
      You will need to disconnect the receiver from your Action 3 if you want to hear the audio from the recording during playback.

    1) 20T is analog transmitter (600MHz, pass walls better)
    2) 20P is digital (2.4GHz) interference protected, but if there are a lot of WiFi, walls and other 2.4GHz devices then it can be a problem.

    Thank you so much for this video. My Ulanzi microphone hasn't been working but I think it's related to the microphone not staying charged. Thank you for teaching me about the meaning of the light colors as that has helped diagnose the issue. I tried to my computer and even though plugged in, the red light turns off after some time. I've tried with the case open and closed. Any suggestions for me? thank you again!

      You are very welcome. When it comes to the red light. Is it a rapid blinking red light or a solid red light. I am driving right now (my Ulanzi kit is out of my immediate reach so I can't do a diagnosis right now) but when I get that opportunity to stop I'll see what I could muster however....
      Try a few things...
      As the microphone sits in the case, only open the case (allow like 8-10secds for the lights of the microphones to finish flashing whatever color light they may flash). Then repeat this one more.
      I can't really text. Let me get pulled over and I'll come up with some ideas but what I will tell you to try is holding the power button for like 39secda and after 30secds tap the power button once.....or double tap the power button on the mic.
      There is a few methods to get these microphones to "snap out of it". I just have to remember what they are. But give me some time

    Thanks for the video, pretty cool and the place of recording is awesome. But for some unexplained reason I don't hear other party when I use this during WhatsApp video call. Also when I play TH-cam Video with Sound and I plug the receiver in to my Android phone, the sound stops and TH-cam video carries on. If I plug the headphones to the receiver I can hear myself but nothing else. I couldn't find any settings on the phone but it seems the mic receiver takes over the speaker output and no sound to be heard. Any tips for diagnosing this?

    • @Jonasegway
      @Jonasegway  ปีที่แล้ว

      So your problem has been my problem also! When I first purchased this microphone kit, I also went on Whatsapp and did a video and audio call and neither worked. I have tried using these with Facebook messenger video chat and still nothing so I don't know what the people at Ulanzi have been using where this microphone kit works with your cellular device.
      I also observed the headphone jack overrides the audio output. I will mess around with it some more and see if the TH-cam videos stop playing while trying to watch videos with the receiver being plugged into my android phone while using the headphones

    • @paveldesort5657
      @paveldesort5657 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I managed to find the settings inside of the phone to switch output to phone instead of the mic. So that fixed my issue. Now it works as it should. I need to check this but I believe if I attach the receiver to a power bank I should be able to hear the mics through the stereo jack headphones. My little James bond bug haha.

    • @paveldesort5657
      @paveldesort5657 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Jonasegway nevermind. I. Sending it back. Although I could hear TH-cam by switching loudspeaker on and off. Using WhatsApp was not possible. The reason is that the mic receiver takes over a protocol dedicated for headphones with mic but in ulanzi case only mic functionality is provided. Phone can't separate mic and speaker. So I could have phones mic and loud speaker or ulanzi mic and no speaker. I tried with Skype and self test service called as well. Same thing. So unless some Android phones can have custom settings independent for mics (ulanzi or Built-in) and sound output (ulanzi or loud speaker) it's a no go. I expect the same for similar type of setup of wireless mics. Perhaps Bluetooth may be the way.

    Hey man thanks for this video.
    I have a very Interesting question I can't seem to get an answer on. When recording internally to the SD card, does the files split up on the card after a certain time recording? Or is it just one single file per recording.
    Reason I ask is because I bought the new U-Mic and it splits the audio every 30 minutes. Which I don't like at all.
    Second question, is it possible you can test if the internal recording has audio drift when recording for 1 hour or more non stop? (not connected to a phone obviously. Just the TX used as a recorder) - best way to test this would be to press record on the ulanzi mic and the go 2, let it run for 1 hour and then line up the audio in editing and see if the sound matches up through the 1 hour.
    I don't know who to ask as Ulanzi hasn't responded to me. I would greatly appreciate if you can test this for me so I know whether to buy this mic or not. Keep up the great work

    • @Jonasegway
      @Jonasegway  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok. I do not have this microphone kit with me right now as I respond, however....about 11hrs from the time I write this message I will. I can try to get your answer within 24hrs because when I get home it will be late night. So....I will make an hour long recording of some sort using this kit with no cuts to the main video, match the audio file(s) and answer both of your questions in one video. Obviously I don't expect anyone to listen to the entire video for 1hour but I will try to be as entertaining as possible, expecting you to fast forward throughout the hour long recording to see if there is any drift.
      However....I am very sure there is drift as I have even noticed letency in the audio while recording with the receiver connected to the camera within even 5 minute clips

      @@JOTC ok so far I've been able to record 1hr22mins using my SD card internally recording and I let it record for 1hr 22mins and it recorded three files interestingly. Two of the files was (5secds and the other was 7seconds). The third file was the full 1hr 22mins that I let it record from beginning to end. I don't know what's the deal with the other two files but they were there. Now I will start off with making a 5-10min video and synching the audio to see if it drifts or not. But so far that's what I got when it comes to continuous recording. It recorded the 1hr22mins continuously!

    • @JOTC
      @JOTC ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Jonasegway that's fantastic news! So that means it already solves the issue that the new U-Mic has (Ulanzi is currently trying to fix it) because what happens to the U-mic is that when the audio files split after 30 mins, 4 frames of audio goes missing before it records again.... So every time my recording is longer than 1h30mins, I will be missing audio for 4 frames, every 30 mins. Glad you were be able to determine that the uw-mic does not have this issue. Now I'm just hoping it doesn't drift. Holding thumbs. Excited to see the video. Again, appreciate you man.

      1st thing I would send me a link to the EXACT memory card you are using despite me thinking it really shouldn't matter neither should the size of the memory card. I have a 64gb Scandisk Extreme (gold and red color memory card).
      If you are simply using the mics as standalone microphones (recording audio without using the receiver) you have to press the 'pause/play' button till you see the blue light flash rapidly.
      To make sure it is recording on the memory card while using the receiver make sure the green light on the receiver AND the microphone is a steady green light.
      If that still doesn't create a folders with your audio files on it, I would tell you to take the memory card out and format it whether it be on your computer, cellular device or laptop and then try using it in the microphone again.
