I have one of these, Denise, and the problem is when the elastic stretches out to the point that the grip becomes too loose even with the adjuster all the way to its tightest, there’s little you can do. Fortunately I’m a sewer, so I cut and re-sewed the elastic myself, but that’s not for everyone.
Thanks so much, Denise. I came to your channel looking for good wig grip recommendations. What bothers me the most about them is the bulk they create on the SIDES of my head around my ears. There's so much going on in that area. There's the thick ear tabs and stays. Plus I wear glasses -- AND hearing aids! You know what would be great? A grip with lace panels at the sides behind my ears! Hope some wig grip creator sees this comment.😊
Great. I never did understand how people managed with that thick band all around their head AND a wig on top - I would melt. Personally I've never felt the need to wear a grip - a few dabs of wig glue holds mine as firm as a rock.
Thank you!!! I'm ordering one today. Ive been struggling with wig grips nothing seams to stay on my head. God bless you Denise for SHARING with us. You are so appreciated for all your hard work! ❤❤❤❤❤✝️✝️✝️✝️🤗🤗🥰
I’ve tried a lot of wig grips and, for me, it comes down to how easy it is to put it on correctly. I was very excited to try a new grip with a lace insert, but it has been so frustrating because I end up putting it on and taking it off, reversing it, putting it on then taking it off, ad Infinitum until I give up. The directions need to be clear and unequivocal. The bulkiness or lack of lace are less of an issue if my wig is secure on my head.
I’m a “It Stays” gal. BUT recently go a grip on a whim 🤪 I was surprised how it holds! Until last night, when I got home I noticed I had a “5 head” 🤣 Thank goodness I had only gone to my MIL house☺ I think I would like this one if the skinny piece was Velcro 🫣 I’m not fond of the bra strap adjusters, I’m petite, even on my average size wigs, I can feel the “bumps”, Belle Tress. I cut them off 🤷🏻♀ Thanks for sharing🥰
Denise can I ask what you might suggest. I have a fairly flat back of my head an my occipital bone is not very pronounced. I have the fabric only one, I have The Hair Grip, I have The GripaFix by Wig Guru, and they all slide up. If you think that the new Gripafix will possibly work, I can give it a try unless you have another suggestion. I have bio hair on my head which I try to contain so wondering if it's geniuses I do and you have your head shaved??
Thanks very much Denise your always helping us. I wouldn't buy because of that clasp buckle in the back would annoy me I say this in the hope the brand are listening not to be picky 💖
She reached out to me after she saw my review and said she is coming out with a similar option without the clasp in the back. Can't wait to try it and share it!
I am on my husband's computer, so this is Victoria (not Kevin). My problem with wig grips (at first, I assumed it was the wig) is the bulk I already have behind my ears. I wear glasses and then there is the added bulk of plastic tubing threaded behind each ear for my oxygen tank. Then I get to use whatever wig grip I select,. FINALLY I can now apply my wig! Behind my right ear, my current wig grip adds TWO layers of thickness (only one layer on the left) because I have to shift it to the left so the lace front and part from the wig grip line up with my left mono-part wigs. What do you think will work best for me?
I love the one you showed today! I use snap clips on the elastic to keep it down. I actually don’t use the one with the Velcro, but I love the the thinner elastic.
I have a grip with elastic in the back (very similar to the one you are showing) but it doesn’t keep the back of the wig low..the back of my wig seems to ride up. Help!
Mynwig grips ride up a bit in the back diue to flat shape of bck of my head. So far I,like the Milano and the Hair Grip best. The front stays put so I ignore the back riding up, and I still have bio hair.
This is why I am so glad we have options... you might need to get one that has the velvet grip material all around. That can be a challenge with wig grips like this... and if you have a flat back of the head that can contribute to this challenge. I have some ideas on my website if this is your particular challenge. I polled all our wig sisters asking for what they do to manage that, and that helped me create this list. Here is that blog post, scroll down to find that list: heywigsister.com/f/wig-fit-and-how-to-measure-your-head
Denise you look fabulous ❤❤ Haven’t been on you tube much as I’ve been busy with Mark. Love that wig grip and the glue pen..will be going on wig guru website today! Also, that wig in a ponytail looks stunning, as is the shade. Will definitely check it out! Have a wonderful day, girlfriend ❤
Maybe once a wig wearer finds the size they adjust to consistently, they can sew the elastic together & cut the plastic off? Thx for bringing options! ❤
Happy Sunday Denise, what are your thoughts. I have struggled with wig grips because I have extremely small head circumference and no octavio bone . What are your thoughts or suggestions? I have been using tape , it stays , and got to be glue for years but always ready to try something new or different. Have a blessed week. 💜🙏🏻💜
Hi Denise could you please let me know the brand and price of the full fabric wig grip you put on at the end please? I have a small head too and would love to try that one as clips etc don't work for me. Thankyou and cheers from Oz 🦘 Tracey
My favorite full fabric grip is from The Hair Grip.... here is my review of that and there is a coupon code in the description: th-cam.com/video/Fq2xyBv0xdY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Mii4P6cfM4WiO8t2
Do you prefer this wig grip over the one you promoted a while back that is all silicone? I ordered that one after I saw your video about it. I think that, while it does hold my wig well, it seems to be stretching.
Hi! The all silicone one has never been my favorite, but I know that a lot of women love and only use that one which is why I wanted to show it. When I used to work out in a gym that is the one I would wear, but now I workout at home with no wig on. My favorite wig grip to date is by The Hair Grip... I tend to like wig grips that have fabric all around due to my head being small, but not every product works for everyone so I like to show a wide variety of things in the hopes that it will help women find what they need. Here is my review of The Hair Grip: th-cam.com/video/Fq2xyBv0xdY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Mii4P6cfM4WiO8t2
Denise, I hadn't watched your videos in quite a while. Seems like you've lost more weight! You look awesome! Sigh....wish I could be like you. You throw on a wig and it looks like the hair is growing right out of your scalp. You look beautiful. 🙂 Also, anybody have any tips on how to make that line on lace front wigs disappear? I recently bought Mila. I really like her, but that line is too prominent!!! Thank you!
Oh my gosh, thank you so much for your kindness! I was like you in the beginning, thinking all wigs look terrible on me. Keep pushing through, I know it will get better. Sending huge hugs!

That is good feedback, and something I would not have known. I will pass that on to Yaelli, the owner of Wig Guru.

Denise, you're one of the sweetest, most generous person ever. Thank you for all your reviews. I am constantly learning.
You are so sweet, so precious, and let yourself be so vulnerable as you try to help others. Bless your kind heart.❤️
Amen 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Awww, thank you so much!!
This is your ministry, to help other wig wearers! Thank you.
Great. I never did understand how people managed with that thick band all around their head AND a wig on top - I would melt. Personally I've never felt the need to wear a grip - a few dabs of wig glue holds mine as firm as a rock.
I would try an option with a Velcro fastener instead of the buckle, thank you fora sharing😊

This is the first wig grip that has worked for me. I love it! The glue, on the other hand, does nothing & i was appalled at how little you get
I just bought one of those wig grips, I REALLY REALLY like it. Its very comfortable. In fact, I just bought a 2nd one
This wig grip is the best I have tried. I wear a wig cap with my wigs and this silicone on this wig grip is amazing.
Really appreciate your research and opinions. Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure!
OMGOODNESS Denise you look fantastic in Everything!

I so appreciate your videos. Wig grips have definitely been a pain. I look forward to trying this new one. ❤
It is definitely a process, I hope this one works flawlessly for you!

Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us ❤❤❤
My pleasure 😊
The velcro is helpful if you have bio hair, my thin hair is very smooth and slippy and this wiggrip seems to stick better than other wiggrips
I have a grip with elastic in the back (very similar to the one you are showing) but it doesn’t keep the back of the wig low..the back of my wig seems to ride up. Help!
I was just coming on to say exactly that. I have such trouble keeping my wig from riding up in the back.

That's a great idea!
Denise, I have a flat wig no permit. Can you use hairspray to give it a little bit more body if it’s no alcohol?
