- The King of Firewood uses new Stihl MS661C for 1st time. In this firewood video the self proclaimed ''King of Firewood'' uses his brand new Stihl MS661C chainsaw for the first time to cut oak top at the firewood honey hole.

Put a wedge in the top of the log and you won't pinch the bar. Once you use a wedge , you'll never leave home without them.
I've did that before when I had them with me.
Hi Joe good to hear the king telling us about his new saw looks like a powerful beasts keep them coming all the best from Scotland
Trying to get out as many videos as I can.
That saw will never get tired.
But the King will running it all day.
Come from the bottom about 3/4ths the way, then finish from the top, you will never bind your bar like that :) awesome video! that saw screams
Sounds like that would work.
Just purchased one an hour ago in Australia, keen to get out the bush an give it a good go.
Looking forward to it after watching this video cheers mate 🍻
I think you're going to like it Dylan.
how do you rate it dylan
@@adrenalinefisho869 absolutely love it mate. Won’t be purchasing another chainsaw for a long time. Would highly recommend. 9/10
Hows your saw working out thinking about getting one for slabbing
Impressive saw Joe. YOU GUYS ARE KILLING THE HONEY HOLE.
Might have my 2021 inventory built by this fall.
Just bought one ! Absolute ass kicker
Enjoy
That saw will just keep getting faster for the first ten hours you use it to. He’s going to like it. I know our dealer here would do that for us as long as the saw was in good shape. Be good joe! 👍
I was surprised they did that. But they do hold their value pretty good.
You and your brother seem to have a great relationship! That’s a beautiful chainsaw
We have our ups and downs J
@@JoesFirewoodVideos That’s okay we all do. But it’s good you have each other to help each other out.
It's like watching a kid in a candy store, I can see the twinkle in his eye
He was excited to run it.
The 661 is a fantastic saw. Bought 2, a couple of years ago and then a 500i, about 10 months ago. (I'm a timber feller, so I use them full time) The 500i, although fantastic, has had a million problems where as the 661's have only had a decrease in power. (and I'm sure it's because of something that I did)
I've also smashed one of them twice, with trees and it still works fine, although the wrap handle is a little bent.
Getting ready to go buy another one today.
Yeah Paul I have a MS460 and it seems to be losing power lately, have had it since 2009.
@@JoesFirewoodVideos the 460 is a beautiful saw! My boss had one for years and I accidentally smashed it with a tree last year. (It doesn’t happen as often as I’m making it seem lol) But it still runs! Just needs a new fuel tank.
Bought a used one .going try it .I use 462 for most things it's best saw .out I feel .and have new 500i haven't tried yet.but 462 always gets job done..it's all about weight for me.have hernia
@@Sethhaun78 I prefer the 500i over the 462, any day!
I’m using a 462 at the moment but it’s only because I smashed me 500 and they’re sold out in my area 😢
The 462 is great but the 500 is nearly the same weight but with a lot more power and it’s hard to beat that fuel injected feature.
Either way, all saws involved are fantastic!
@@paul_romero_ do you have west coast felling and suspension kit with bark box and also important the green oil filter from west coast saws.IF YOUR NOT RUNNING ALL THOSE MODS On your stihl saws all of the saws then your saws are missing out on there potential..the moment i did this to all of my saws they are a complete ly different animal .my 462 runs circles around most saws even bigger ones.the filters are less maintaince, allow air flow increased 80 percent .and bark box cools it better .and helps to increase as well. The suspension kit allows to run a 32 inch bar without being floppy .or 28 or 30 inch or Oregon. Anyone who doesn't do these mods all at once on your saws is missing out bigtime.its that much better .and keeps fined out of the engine and u can run them without covers if desired. I ran mine over fixed bent handle runs like a dream..462 I mean....haven't tried my 500i yet .it's also has all of those modifications except 500i 661 u need to run max flow filters that's only difference I have it ready to go fir back up.hazent had gas in yet ..also if your not warming the saw up and recalibrating,it once in while it won't run full potential because feul filter gets dirty .this isn't a debate .it's a must to do a these things to sthil saws .I talk with mechanics daily get those on the saw. If you don't already .I wouldn't even run a stihl saw without them. That filter set up is 1000 times better .no comparison
Nice saw with lots of power
Powerful saw! The King should start from the bottom 1st, then finish from the top, no pinch, just watch your toes! Lol👍🏼🙏
The 661 is a sweet saw
Badass saw man! 👍🏻
Thanks Timmerd888
That is a sweet saw.
STIHL MS 500I CAN'T WAIT
Not sure about that one?
661 more torque aka real power.... 500i is all chain speed
Fuel injection
Nice 661 frikin awesome hope he don’t break it like he does all his other saws lol. That thing is going to make some blocks right there. You must be paying him good tell you what. Keep on grinding bud fill the yard and then some. Stay safe out there joe And the king.
Yeah he just told me the 460 isn’t running well again and The Saw Surgeon just worked on it. I think it’s how he starts the saw. Guess he’s going to borrow my 291 tomorrow as back up in case the 661 gets pinched.
Great saw 👍
I remember watching this 6 months ago then it came across again so I refreshed my memory n watched it for a few min
Appreciate that Matt
@@JoesFirewoodVideos and I even hit the thumbs up on the commercials lol try to help a brother out any way possible
I love this saw it’s a complete beast. I’ve been using it for about two weeks now and I’m having issues with the saw stalling while I’m halfway through a cut. I’m using the recommended oil mixture and I’m continuously keeping it topped off. Has anyone else had this issue?
My saw gas I go a little rich at 48:1 with the Stihl Platinum 2 cycle oil. Also I use non-ethanol 100% gasoline
Got a MS 391 now looking at a MS661
Long live the king and his saw.
Amen 🙏
Great videos. Keep up the good work
I’ll do my best.
Good man. I have my own TH-cam channel as well. Its called
Rnc Rally Pic's
Wow now that’s a lot of
Power
Almost too much for part time firewood guy.
Felling and parties have something in common. It's fun to do but no one likes to clean up the mess afterward. :-D
You got that right
When you want the baddest saw there is , this is the saw you get !
Yes it’s a beast
Looks great! He’s really gonna love it on that job! I know I certainly miss my 066 at times. I’ll have to get another look @ Matthew’s 460... I wonder what’s up with it🤔. Blessings Joe & Matthew!
I wonder if it has anything to do with the way he starts it? He uses my gas which is 100% gasoline with Stihl Ultra 2-Cycle mix at 48-1
A beast of a saw.
Sure is.
After that saw is broke in, throw a full skip on it, take the rakers down and extra stroke with a file and hang on. My 661 is my go to saw and a bad ass one at that!
I told him to get skip tooth the next time he gets chains for his 25” bar.
On my 28” it still dismantled logs like they wernt there. Throw a 36” on there and the saw barley slows down! Great choice for sure!
Damn that’s a bad ass saw sweet baby Jesus
He loves it.
The king ain't playing games Joe!
I’m saving money to buy this chainsaw
You won't be disappointed.
It’s 1700 now I got one
nice saw
What kind of chain is he running? Full comp?
Full comp full chisel
The king will be logging before long
Doubt it.
So joe, I just bought another new ms291 and if I wanted to, I could take it back to the stihl dealer and get my money back?
Not sure about your dealer but the King’s dealer did it for him.
Nice saw , but he needs to learn how to cut those hung up logs without pinching the bar. 👍🍺
Sometimes no matter what you do it’s going to to pinch.
That saw is a beast. Frickin awesome. Is the King gonna let you run Joe?
Eventually and when I do the camera 🎥 will be rolling
Joe ive been so busy i missed like 20 of your videos just watched them all lol those 661 are nasty i just got a 362c-m its a nasty saw. Gonna start making firewood videos myself
Catchup when you can Jake... Don’t forget that I have two channels
Why so many different lengths of rounds? Nice saw !
Because he doesn’t have the skill of me to eyeball 16” on 95% of blocks cut like I do.
Hello joe king has a nice sae be good and keep safe and t.c. 🇺🇸 🤑
No eye protection really smart😮
I never used it before 😂 -logger
What size bar were you using?
I think it was 25" bar?
Cool
Love my 661 it’s an animal! I just do logs on skids and so much faster.
Yes when you got good!!!!! Saw.👍 you won't to cut everyday 💪💪Nice.😆
He’s cutting faster than I can keep the chains sharp. The wood is piling up here so fast
@@JoesFirewoodVideos lovely! !!😆💪💪
Careful yoinking on it like that. Like all saws with good AV the mounts break easily
I just buy one today with 36" bar
It will handle a bar that long without any problem
Yes I was trying to get the 881 it says it can hold up to 41" but they don't have any on stock. So I get these one that says up to 36" and I already have a 32" bar so I will good with that for now. I have old homelite chainsaw couple of 240 and a little red xl for the branches up to 18 inch
I sleep with a 661 beside me in Moose Camp.
I have a 661 cm in the uk 🇬🇧 with 38 inch bar and she rocks 🪨
He bought it with 25” bar.
@@JoesFirewoodVideos what bar options do you get in the USA 🇺🇸 ?
Hey joe, you should buy an ms362c
My next new saw will be 461 or 261
@@JoesFirewoodVideos The 251c with an 18" bar is pretty stellar with the ElastoStart feature.
Give one a try if ya haven't already.
Just remember that it don't need to be yarded on.
28”bar?
I think so? Maybe 25”?
Mate!!!!!!😆😆👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👌👌✊ Nice.😆
Shit just got real!! Ms661c!!! Suck it Pam!!
Awesome saw! No chaps?
He’s responsible for his own safety
Been 8 months, you guys still got all your digits?
Be careful out there
Of course, safety first at JPF.
You wanna try that with Australian jarrah mate and tell me how she go's?
Ship me a piece mate and I’ll try it.
Been flogging one for four years in NNSW and apart from the dogs rattling off and a bit of a hole in the cover after being slack cleaning it after palms and a bar that just died..
It's going good as ever.
Ten out of ten.
Get yourself a 500i game changer
How much do they run?
@@JoesFirewoodVideos same price as 661c, I'm in new Zealand, incredible saw though.
Looks like the king needs some training. LoL
He did fine
I love mine I run a 36 on mine full skip chain
Too long of bar for me.
I cut a lot off old growth fir that is five feet on the but a 36 works best for me I have ran a 48 on it at times the smallest bar I own is 32
Brady West saws are not cheap I buy two a year always a 661 and anew 460
He needs a 36" bar
Nah, that’s too long.
Have all stihl saws and you need to modifications bark box 1. 2 max flow airliners oil filters .night and day I have all of them.395 xp has always been best big saw on market period hands down. The new 592 xp is better as well. I have modified 500i 462 661cm, 461 and 395 beats all saws.get one before there gone
Another channel that I subscribe to just installed a bark box on his Husqvarna.
@@JoesFirewoodVideos how so
That’s the way I feel about my 372. There’s no way in hell you can run a 28” on a 372 without utter frustration. And I’m not talking about cutting fir trees. Hardwood all day everyday. 372 falls short. You guys look like you need some practice. Buy an 880 next week.
He did ok.
Joe's Firewood Videos my left side is actually weaker than my right from running a chainsaw for so long. I have to be conscious of it and try to make it somewhat equal, although unlikely. You take for granted how many hours you have on a saw when you work for production tree care/land clearing companies.
With that short a bar, lower the rakers and sharpen that chain.
Yeah the 20" bar is fast
I got me one too
Great saw ain’t it?
@@JoesFirewoodVideos Love the ease of how it goes through hardwood like a hot knife through butter.
I'm waiting on getting a 24" bar n skip chain to play with the files a bit.
Like a surgeon with these things lol
@@JoesFirewoodVideos Oh. The ease of how it starts.
Two minor compression pulls and hit the decompression valve...
Ya. It's my SDS (Social Distancing Stihl) lol
I'll put my 390 up against it
That would be good video
No comparison
Yeah nah, 395 is similar.
stick some chainsaw trousers on though
That’s his choice
@@JoesFirewoodVideos of course
Wait till you have a problem with the mtronic will be costing a fortune to fix
Yeah that’s why I wish he got a used 660.
My logging jobs on our third 661 never had electric issues with any of them .
661C ( if the description is correct) is the non M-Tronic model. I have a 661C on order too. The 661 C-M is the M-Tronic.
King, You need eye protection!
#PPEpolice. Sometimes he wears sun glasses

No money left for eye protection?
#PPEPolice
Good thing he wore ear protection. That way he can hear the doctor tell him he's gonna be blind from not wear eye protection!
I agree he should wear some.
arrotatura scadente
Joe, I can’t believe that you actually said “ he starts the saw like a girl” AND THENYOU WENT ON TO RIDICULE HIM BY HOW HE CUT THE LOG.
Starting the saw with the method he used is the safest method for a guy operating a new to him saw. And he should not have been bullied.
He's my little brother and I can bully him if I want.
mình ở Vietnam muốn được không
Should really wear proper PPE equipment
Are you the PPE police?
Start it like a girl huh? You mean one of the ways you’re supposed to?
i have the 661 its a bad ass saw it aint mine was $1508.69 its just money
I ended up buying it from my brother last summer for $1200, probably paid $200 too much.
@@JoesFirewoodVideos o ok
That is a sweet saw .
