thanks for making this video. I was gonna buy it but now I see i'd have to fiddle with the time and temp and then have to pre-heat then have to add the food in the middle of operation. The one I have now is I just turn the hockey puck dial to what ever time and i'm done. temp dial is always set to 450F so no need to worry. my air fryer is set and running in 1 second. I love analog and can't stand digital. Very informative video thank you!
I like the DREO you just demonstrated for us, BETTER. I ordered and just received it. For safety sake, I prefer the button on the handle the DREO has, and press for time/temp opposed to wheel turning among other things. Thanks for helping in deciding what to buy when so many out there to have to decide on. LOVING the no basket they did away with now. NO louvers to clean.

I picked one of these up when they were on sale. I was really tempted by the Dreo, but decided I liked the knob and that cleaning the window would be easier if it were part of the basket. One thing I didn't notice until after I bought it is the handle design. Since it's joined to the basket at the top and bottom it should offer better support and be more resistant to breaking.
Good job Doug! Based on your expert analytical review of this air fryer I am going to buy one. I like the clear view panel to see the food as it is cooking.
I own both. The larger single basket actually just started saying “replace filter”. I didn’t even realize this was a thing. I can’t seem to find the replacements anywhere. 🤷♀️ Otherwise- I greatly prefer the larger single basket unit over the dual basket. The baskets are just not quite big enough. Also, as I use them both at the same time, even with the same food, the larger cooks faster and more evenly. Hope this helps. (And really hope I can find the filters!)

I only one in there in my mind are the best on the market I don’t know how we live without them I live off grid on a generator and this only pull 1700 W so it’s great for off grid living you can run it up a little tiny suitcase generator 2000 W
I have an air fryer with the exact same bottom insert. Problem is....after a few weeks of use, every time I turn the basket to empty, the air fryer tray comes falling out. I have to use a tongs to hold it in place. Kind of a hassle. Have you experienced the same with the Vortex?
Hey @cookingwithdoug been trying to find an air fryer that I can turn all the beeps and noises off , (I have a dog that freaks with the beeps 🤪) can this fryer be silenced ? TIA
does it make some like whispery noise when it shows ready on the screen? When I insert the basket, becore cooking my does and this noise, but goes away after some time. I don't mean the cooking noise.
Question--for those AF that don't require preheating, aren't they still preheating as they start until they reach the desired temp? For instance--they aren't at 400 deg when you put food in if they aren't preheated. Some bypass preheating by just putting food in immediately and adjust a bit in time.
Is there no bypassing the preheating? I'm rdy to replace my old airfryer but really waiting 3 minutes extra just to warm my pastries seems like a hassle haha
I’ve decided to post a review after reading some negative ones th-cam.com/users/postUgkxD4Qeo-HRLxMfom_PDinM_SBfes00qJsB I followed the cleaning instructions prior to using and preheated as well to ensure that we didn’t get the “plastic” smell or taste some have mentioned in other comments. I cleaned the basket with vinegar and water and the dish soap, and preheated it 3x to be sure. Honestly, the cooking time took about 30 min for larger wings and it’s a good idea to turn the meat half way through to cook evenly. The meat taste delicious 😋 Also, there is no mess on the counter from the vapor released during cooking time.
I just received mine today ! I have washed everything down and put it through a test run, as recommended in the instructions with no food in it. There is a very mild plastic smell. I let it cool down, and put it through another test run to see if the smell would go away. There is virtually no smell after the 2nd test run ! I know this is important to alot of people. It takes about 18 mins. to cool after cooking ! I will be cooking chicken drumsticks tonight ! Maybe with a Barbecue sauce ! I will be updating this comment !
Hi @COOKINGWITHDOUG , did you tries switching off sound? I ask because I have Vortex Plus model (without glass door) and it is bugged (confirmed by many owners), and when you switch off the button press sounds, setting is not saved and sounds are back even after opening and closing drawer. Could you please do a test and see if switch off sound persist in memory, also after disconnecting and reconnecting from power? Thanks!
Hi, Doug; we watch all of your videos, and have a question. Our Cosori was recalled, and are considering getting this clear-window Instant Vortex air fryer to replace the Cosori. I understand there is a filter on the top that's supposed fo prevent cooking smells in the kitchen. Is it necessary to use the filter at all? I like the smell of cooking food in my house. And is there a plastic smell from the machine when it's new? Thanks, and we love your videos.
The Cosori Dual Blaze isn't on that recall list #1 but this machine did have that smell slight my 1st use but went away after my 2nd(most machines do this) no need for any filters etc
I've just bought this and it does come pre-installed with filters to remove the cooking odours. This part is at the top at the back. Apparently it will indicate when the filters need to be replaced. I think you can maybe use it without the filters insert part - not sure, as I've just unboxed mine and haven't actually started using it yet.

Love the thorough review! I’ve got a ninja foodie right now and it has a splatter screen. I didn’t notice that in the video. Does the coil get messy when you use it? I make a lot of chicken wings and the splatter screen gets pretty messy.

I just bought the same unit with the window for $109.99 @ Walmart with free shipping. I buy most things like this from Walmart as long as it's shipped free. I live 3 miles from Walmart and get most of my groceries and prescriptions there and I can return online purchases at the store. I've gone all these years with no air fryer until now, this unit was recommended by America's Test Kitchen and my son tells me I'll love it. Now I just have to find a place to put it. TheReaper!
@@mathsdebater It works fine but I think I overpaid for it. If I were to do it over again, I would look at a combo model that can take the place of little my counter top oven. Recently I also bought an Instant Pot, but like the Air Fryer, I really don’t have enough counter or cupboard space for it. Also and this is just me, it’s like learning to cook all over again, and at 75 with health problems, I’m really not up to it. All these new fangled cookers IMHO change the taste and texture of the food especially the meat. It is so easy to over cook in them that I promise you you will over cook a lot of food. If you buy any of these practice with it first. What I mean is if you want to make some garlic bread, try one tiny piece first. On frozen french fry's, cooking them frozen incinerates the exterior and leaves the inside near frozen. People on youtube IMO lie a lot about their air fryers, SERIOUSLY THEY DO. The instant pot makes great rice, the air fryer make pretty good french fry's if they are room temperature and are already soaked in oil like Checkers frozen French fry’s. With the air fryer you will quickly learn why the more experienced have all these spray bottles filled with various different oils. You will need to learn the recipe, like should the item be thawed to room temperature and the exact amount of minutes to cook it. One extra minute can do a great deal of damage to a French fry or a tatter tot. Before you jump in the pool, spend some time with this girl she has a lot of experience with air fryers. There really is no such thing as an air fryer, to cook at those temperatures you need FAT! TheReaper!

The recipe page has a QR code at the bottom which helps you download the app for recipes for the Instant Pot and for their air fryers too.

Yes but AF take less that 45 secs to get to temp
