  • MTL Coupler installed on a Atlas EV Caboose
    Installing Micro Trains #1111 (001 30 007) couplers into a N-Scale ATLAS EV Caboose.
    Most people like to replace the Stock RAPIDO couplers with a new type coupler like Micro Trains. I also use a MTL #1020 coupler holding tool.

    All I ever do is lose springs and get frustrated. You make it look so very easy.

    Looks so simple. I tried that without the MTL tool.
    Worked, but took about ten times the time you needed.
    Thank you Eric!

    When I put Micro Trains couplers on my Atlas wide vision cabooses, the coupler conversion kits I used for both of my cabooses was the MT 1049 conversion kits for the Minitrix F9B units, they fit petfectly.

    Great video, Eric. Thanks. Is there an easy way to find out which MT replacement couplers to buy for various kinds of rolling stock, such as Kato and Atlas?

    • @IMRROcom
      @IMRROcom  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Micro-Trains Web Site. make sure you know what you have. Atlas did a change up on this EV Caboose. The newer ones you a different style coupler over the older ones.

    I find the MT tweezer indispensable, handy for mantra conversions

      I do not know on any of that. Last conversation I did was about the same time this video post. A long long time ago…

    Doesn't work anymore since Atlas has changed the coupler pockets. :-(

    • @IMRROcom
      @IMRROcom  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      What is new. Have not picked up a new ATLAS EV Caboose. In fact most new ATLAS products should have some sort of quality type coupler

    • @bernardmueller5676
      @bernardmueller5676 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The caboose from Atlas 50 000 976 - 50 000 991 have a different coupler pocket than earlier models. These models have Atlas Accumate couplers. It is rather annoying because I bought the conversion kit from Micro-Trains without knowing that the pocket was changed. I prefer Micro-Trains couplers on caboose.
      BTW, thanks for all those great videos. :-)

      Bernard Mueller 100% correct on that just checked it out. My last caboose has the pin whisker type Accumate couplers. I looked up on MT web site under the conversion list and MT has no set of couplers you can use to replace the Atlas Accumates yet.
