There is something in his voice that instantly puts a smile on my face, just can't help it..That intro, never done the same way and always special and beautiful in each performance of this song. I won't even start about the way this man moved across the stage, never reached by any other performer! Can you imagine anyone but Freddie banging the piano with his bottom and still doing it with style? :-)
I still remember that day. Drove from Preston to Milton Keynes. Parked the car up in a field. Helicopter flew over our heads. Freddie and the boys had arrived. The next 2 hours were amazing. Those were the days!
Freddie was really an extension of his music. He knew every beat so that he could change up the lyrics and still be on key and tempo. Roger said that Freddie used his body movements to convey when he was extending his vocals or playing off the audience. Then Freddie would bring the band back to the actual verse by looking at Roger and gesturing, often putting his arm up or to the side, or like at the end he hopped up to Roger and closed the song with a punch.
As soon as Freddie opens his mouth he's got ya I love Queen but I really love Freddie great sense at playing pranks on the boys they just loved each other he was a beautiful person I cried my eyes out when he past away he really knew how to put on a great show he was so funny you must watch some of his interviews and he always called everyone Darling have you reacted to Crazy little thing called love that song was dedicated to my man Elvis he was a big fan I loved him for that he had so much more to give just like Elvis who past away this month 43yrs ago at the age of 42 he also had much more to give I remember it as if it was yesterday I cried for days I still cry I adored that man and still We must get you to react to Elvis it's his turn now Hap react to if I can dream I promise you won't be disappointed ❤️from ya Yorkshire lass Denise keep up the good work Hap 👍😘XX
It’s been on playlist!!!! I just saw a quote from Freddie today basically saying he sings at his best when the crowd is having a good time. It reflects back to him and charges him up!!! No reason to ever question why they continually were voted the best live band!!!!! Most of the time I think he sounds better live!!!! His octave range is massive. Scientists have actually studied it. He was a “One Off” as many have said. I’m my opinion, a gift from God. Please remember my Wembley list???? Thanks
Freddie feeds off his audience - and these folks propelled him. Montreal he was trying to pull them with him - it was being formally filmed and everyone was behaving, sitting on their hands. Here they are his fuel - his emotion swells to the top, raw and powerful. Unleashed. Montreal is tied in a bow; Milton is on fire.
Freddie on fire! I think Montreal gets recommended because it's more "true" to the studio version and showcases their ability to reproduce it live. But, for me, this performance beats it by miles - maybe because Freddie was happy and acting up - unlike at Montreal. I think this is my favourite Hap reaction so far:) Also, it's great to see A back!
He was happy at Montreal, the somebody to love was recorded at at second night of the Montreal forum concert, Freddie didn't have any tensions with the audience. On the official release they can reduce the audience microphone to near whisper.
OMG, OMG, OMG!!! This is out of all the universes and multiverses, and everything known and unknown to humankind and aliens...I mean, such power, stamina, energy, legendary!!! Queen, an absolute legend band. And Freddie Mercury, beyond legendary, a Master of us all. The King of music altogether 👑👑👑👑👑👑🌋🌋🌋💖💖💖
Oh, wow! Fantastic reaction to a fantastic performance. I guess this is what people mean when they say a band is "tight." Freddie is unmatched in all the world of music, but together these guys were like a single organism. If it is true that one isn't really gone as long as they are remembered, Freddie Mercury will live forever. Does that make sense? I wish I could say it better. Your kitty is gorgeous, and he knows it. He really knows how to play to the camera. 😎
My first concert when I was 17 in 1982 was this Queen tour in USA. I was blown away!! Then we saw them in their limos leaving town later that night and were in the lane right next to them. Brian May rolled down the window and waived and smiled at us! We were screaming and hanging out the windows holding our Queen T shirts we’d just bought!! Unforgettable!! Not too bad for my first concert! 😂❤️🤘
How does Freddie keep surprising me? I have seen this a few times and still finding new things ... a mere x number of decades later! I love the fact you get so happy and excited when you listen to Queen. 😍
I love it how you youngsters appreciate Freddie and the lads. Nice one! I was lucky to see Queen live six times. There's nothing like them today. Keep 'em coming.
This phenomenal, beautiful man was a force of nature, and the band absolutely flawless. ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥 What an unforgettable performance! 👏👏👏 Thank you, Hap! Thoroughly enjoyed your reaction. 😻
okay well, I may as well be honest: You made me cry Happy Tears this morning (literally). Every morning I check your channel ("Has he posted any more Queen/Freddie yet?" Pathetic, I know.) So, imagine my SHOCK this morning when..... your CAT! Up close & personal with chin scratching and All ..... AND! My Single MOST FAVORITE Live Freddie Rendition OF "Somebody To Love" In The ENTIRE UNIVERSE! Well, Freddie & your Cat together were just too much for my heart to handle. (Even tho this is my FAV, I don't think I ever requested this version myself from you because there are sooooooo manyyyyyy Queenies out there who pledge "Montreal! Montreal!; it's like swimming upriver or chucking a bit of flotsam in the ocean to speak up and say "nooooo Milton Keynes, you Sillies!" And most reaction channels only do one version of any given song and then move on.) So, THANK YOU.
Just think about going all out & then ends it with bouncing up the riser to fist pump with Roger. Oh Boy I bet that piano could tell tales! Fun fact: Brian has Freddie’s touring Steinway in his home.
Day Two of binge-watching HAP3SPEAKZ Queen/Freddie playlist.💕 THIS is still my FAV reaction... How can it NOT be? The BEST reactor on YT, my FAV Queen performance, AND.... a Special Appearance from my cat's TWIN😻
Hey Marcie!! I’m watching this reaction again for two reasons 1) Best performance of Somebody To Love 2) Best YT reactor 3) How do we get Hap to do more Queen?! The best!!!
I am so glad I found this!! I agree that this is light years better than Montreal, and Montreal was great! This reaches into the stratosphere and leaves me just like you. Tears of pure joy and gratitude for this amazing man, this band, and the sheer glorious energy they left for us to revel in. Thank you for doing Milton Keynes. Best live performance ever IMO!!
Every version of this is just “bloody“ great! Thanks Hap. Love your reaction. Do like the Montreal version because Roger’s contribution is more evident but this one is this one is great too. Couldn’t choose between the two.
Freddie used his ventricular folds, only Tuvan throat singers use them, they have the ability to sing with several tones at the same time, also his vibrato moved at a high speed 7.04 Hz. Faster than the best Opera singer. Freddie's passionate singing made even more fabulous. Scientific world say he was the greatest singer in recorded history.
IMHO, this version, and Milton Keynes concert as a whole is far superior in every way to Montreal. Freddie's voice was on point, he was into the crowd, the entire band was great. (Save Me and Dragon Attack are much better from this concert too, although most people react to Montreal. And Sheer Heart Attack? Fire.)
yes, this is my favourite video of Somebody to Love, even beats out Montreal, which was great, but I agree that the energy is much higher in this video. thanks for reacting to it!!
I think this is the greatest live performance of any song ever, leagues ahead of Montreal 81. Btw I've watched almost all of your Queen reaction videos now and I'm kind of jealous you are hearing this now for the first time. I went through the same between the ages of about 9 and 17 and sometimes I wish I could forget it all and listen for the first time again as you do now. But I can't and I feel glad to share your experience and and it's nice to see someone so genuine reacting to such awesome music that means so much to me!
WELL, GOOD MORNING!! WOW SUCH A POWERHOUSE OF ENERGY THIS MORNING ! EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE BY FREDDIE ROCKIN THE STAGE WITH QUEEN. AND HAP3 IN FINE FORM THIS MORNING ROCKIN THE REACTION!! HAVE A GREAT DAY! 🌞💥🙋♀️
That's the biggest dilemma in listening to Queen, just when you think that you have a favorite song then you hear another song or version and it becomes your new favorite. And on and on and on
In the Montreal video, the Somebody to love is played from the second night, the first night doesn't haven't but thankfully has an audience recording, if you want to check it out it very similar to this version in Milton Keynes.
They never stinted on their shows and we adored them for it and all this time later the quality shines through . Freddie definitely worked very hard every day of his life !! The sheer energy ... ah you are just saying it as I am typing ...the arm gesture was the sync cue with Roger .. Brian says Freddie was a human metronome with impeccable timing and precision. Loved the reaction Hap ✌️
You're exactly right and the performance here is better than Montreal in 1981. Even Brian played his guitar solo a little different than usual but it's still better. Queen is like fine wine because every year their live shows gotten better and better and better. the band itself continued to improve over the years. The guys just kept doing different things and always crossing boundaries. you haven't even gotten to the end of the video yet and you're in for a treat. Haahaa during this song Freddy uses his throat chest and diaphragm muscles primarily to sing.
My first time seeing/hearing this too!!! Like you I thought Montreal couldn't be beat...maybe the visual was clearer but overall this version was truly amazing!! THANK YOU!!!
Indeed he did and he said that in his opinion he thought that somebody to love was actually a much better Written song. Bohemian Rhapsody might sound more complicated but all-in-all actually Somebody to Love was definitely more concrete than Bo rhap.
Actually Freddie loved the writing of this song more and this was his Favorite song. But I don't know about ''better than BoRap'' but maybe true since Somebody To Love is his all time favorite Queen Song which he has written.
A master class in theatrical prowess , with a slice of Aretha Franklin for effect... Bloody marvelous stuff. A real boohooer for people who feel Freddie's passionate delivery. 3 support bands plus Queen for around a Tenner.
Thank you for doing this performznce. I agree, This is definitely more forceful than Montreal. It is his determination and commitment along with his energy that makes it so specisl. The entire concert was more exciting. It is a available under the title Queen on Fire, Alive at the Bowl, and Freddie was certainly on fire. He and John wrote several songs labeled as Disco and Brian and Roger didn't like the direction they were going Dragon Attack, Sheer Heart Attack, Staying Power, Action This Day, and Back Chat are all excellent.
Hey Hap - I’ve been re-watching your Queen video reactions .... this is my favorite live performance of Somebody To Love!! I’m missing your Queen reactions!! 💗
Freddie Mercury had one of the most recognisable voices in pop and rock history. But just how good was the frontman's vocal power? While Freddie's speaking voice fell in the baritone range, he delivered most songs in the tenor range. His known vocal extended from bass low F (F2) to soprano high F (F6).
this was one of my favorite too he have a fabulous voice i never felt boring watching and listening this video even a thousand times i love thank you for your very good r eaction i am happy your reaction.. 😊👑🙏💖
I started following you for your Angelina Jordan journey. Started watching your Queen reactions "fantastic". I seen Queen in 1982 when I was very young. You brought back some great memories. Thanks
He recognizes a mate on the screen in Freddie. Cats will be cats and go where they want. He's a handsome kitty. I'm so glad you are digging deep into Queen. It's been a treat to watch your reactions. Hopefully, I'm not suggesting stuff you've already covered. i had a scroll through your Queen reactions and didn't see these: so two written by Roger, Fight from the Inside (Roger did all the vocals and instrumentals on this one) and Sheer heart attack live in Montreal 1981.
Glad you got round to this one. Although similar set, I prefer Milton Keynes to Montreal. Don't know if you can make it out but the audience continue to sing Find Me Somebody To Love when Freddie is doing his improvisation in the middle.
Awwww this IS the best you ever get ever! Omg I always think Montreal was the best, well I can tcoos if I whant to see/hear the operatic one or the play-ful rock one this is way to over fantastic, dont now wich world I shall use......lol and youre cat Hap, he now How too show himself! Ohhh he or her is beautiful 😽 wonderful day to you, and thanks for a wonderful react.......love
I agree. The Montreal STL was probably vocally better. But I much prefer this one as the energy and audience are way better. The audience in Montreal were a bit static.
The audience in Montreal was deafing, they were louder than the monitors in the stage, according to a fan who attended the show, on the official release they can control the audience Microphone.
The Montreal version wasn't really better vocally. It was just recorded in high definition so all the sounds of the various members was much more clearer. Even the video is much better. Live At The Rainbow in 1974 has similar phenomena in common. They sound amazing. But Freddie's voice was on point in Milton Keynes. He did better and longer runs. The intro was way better also too. And his impeccable showmanship was rewarded by the crowd. That intro would have been wasted in Montreal. They wouldn't be ready. Not Freddie ready. Freddie had to curse that crowd out on multiple occasions (especially during Jailhouse Rock) since they were so lame, and they really disappointed him during Love Of My Life. Freddie had to sing the entire song himself since the audience wouldn't cater to him. On the bright side, we did get to hear a rare and amazing full version of Love Of My Life live sung entirely by Freddie...
I suggest you react to "Nevermore", it is a song on their 2nd album. Freddie's voice is especially beautiful in this, the only downside to it, is that it's only 1 min and 18 secs long. :/ And this performance is so bloody amazing, I love your reactions!!
Oh I loved the cat!!! If I had to compare this against Montreal, I would say that I do prefer this version (even though I’ve seen Montreal so many times). The beginning is so much stronger here and also the crowd seemed amazing here. The crowd at Montreal just didn’t seem like they wanted to participate in the song.
Another great reaction from Hap and cat! I also agree that this is better than Montreal, both are great but this just had that extra something. The whole concert is on youtube but unfortunately the quality isn't great, definitely worth watching though.
........Of alllllll the reactions by alllllll the reactors on YT, this is still my favorite (and Hap is still the BEST reactor); I've re-watched it so many times, I've decided to keep track and see how high the number of times I watch it, goes up to (along w several others in your most awesomest playlist for Freddie Addicts). ;D
This is the absolut best version of this song. Much more powerfull than the version from 1981. Freddies voice ist soooo good. Also Rogers drumsolo is .....wouw !!!
Grest reaction Hap. Loved seeing your cat. This version is my 2nd favorite live version the first is the Montreal 1981 version and this is 2nd. What is your cats name ? I have 10 rescue cats of my own. Thank you for your Queen video reaction. I might have to send you another cap to wear. The Raiders wont do it. You need the DALLAS COWBOYS. You know I am just teasing you my brother. This is why Queen is the greatest live band ever. LEGENDS !!!! Much love to you my friend. Take care. QUEEN BEE.
You should try to watch this full concert, they enter the stage to flash, then sing the hero song from flash Gordon and right into a fast version of we will rock you ,it's amazing.
Freddie is the most beautiful person and has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard. I love you Freddie.❤️
It's very rare that an artist can convey their personality through their vocals. I call it the Mercury magic 😀
EXCELLENT description!💕
I still remember that day. Drove from Preston to Milton Keynes. Parked the car up in a field. Helicopter flew over our heads. Freddie and the boys had arrived. The next 2 hours were amazing. Those were the days!
Only Freddie Mercury could play a piano with his derriere AND DO IT IN TUNE WITH PERFECT TEMPO!!!......There will NEVER be another Freddie!.
Freddie Mercury was beyond perfection!! Best entertainment, performance and singer of all times!! Love him!! Thank you Hap!! Nice cat!!
I honestly live to watch people seeing Freddie for the first time, that's my life now.
Agreed!!
That’s a good life!!

Excellently stated. Yeah I kinda heard that before but its good contrast between the two. There are comments here stating other performances of this song. I'll have to explore them down the path.

Are you ready brothers and sisters?
Freddie once said he trusted Roger to keep the beat over a metronome.
R W I’ve also heard Brian say that Freddie was better than any metronome he’d seen!! LEGENDS!!
One of them, either Brian or Roger I think, called Freddie a human metronome 😊 ❤️Freddie❤️
Your kitty has wonderful taste. I'd want to be closer to Freddie too
Each one is an absolute powerhouse!!! Roger on drums ... Brian on guitar ... John on bass ... and Freddy on everything else!!!
Great. Your reaction here is just as amazing as the performance of Queen.
Freddie on fire! I think Montreal gets recommended because it's more "true" to the studio version and showcases their ability to reproduce it live. He was happy at Montreal, the somebody to love was recorded at at second night of the Montreal forum concert, Freddie didn't have any tensions with the audience. On the official release they can reduce the audience microphone to near whisper.
Recipe for a great song: a cup of soul, a dash of Diva and bottomless amount of talent
This is the best version of this song in my Opinion. Thanks Haap ❤❤
Where have I been for the last 40 years?............Montreal was ace but this was another level...........Wow!
Right?? My absolute favorite. I’m watching it again & again!!
Not sure why, but I like this performance more so than the 1981 Montreal one.
I've always felt the same
@Jasna I find the Milton Keynes audience to be so distracting and annoying. I much prefer to listen to the Montreal concert.
I love them both!
He was MAGICAL ❤
Freddie 4ever 🤴🏻🎤🎶❤️💯‼️
Absolutely fantastic......Freddie was a musical genius!!!
Loved when he jumped up the three steps at the end of the song!!
I’ve always liked this version best - love the energy and the audience and Freddie’s ad libs!❤️
Another Freddie Masterpiece!
Love this performance, Freddie here was just great!!!! By the way love your cat!!! I've always had cats & love all cat lovers. Great reaction!!!
Roger referred to Freddie as a human metronome, perfect rhythm.
This phenomenal, beautiful man was a force of nature, and the band absolutely flawless. ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥 What an unforgettable performance! 👏👏👏 Thank you, Hap! Thoroughly enjoyed your reaction. 😻
Glad you enjoyed it
I was there that night (aged 16) and definitely got my moneys worth.
Freddie Mercury was on fire!!! Thank you so much for sharing your reaction to this video!
Your reaction: 👏❤️👍😸
Freddie & Queen: 😻😻😻😻
My first time hearing this performance and what a show!!! Wish I was there and not in New Jersey (USA)!!

A lot of people prefer Milton Keynes but I love both - he riffs brilliantly in both versions.
I so completely agree. I've listened to queens all my life, but I've never heard them better than the bowl
This is a great performance as well :) he (the cat) has found his Somebody to Love 😂!!

Awwww the kitty just made my day. Kitty dad like Freddie❤
Wow, I haven't seen this video before. It is up there with the Montreal performance. Thanks. Great way to start the morning.
BEST #queenreaction is HERE. Thanks Hap!
I so agree w/ you ! Absolute best reactions are here!
This performance is something else.
I also thought Montreal was the best but it's hard to separate both.
Not for me, I personally really like this one. A lot more playful energy is present here. (Copyrighted HAP3SPEAKZ) ©️
@@HAP3SPEAKZ yes i noticed that Save Me from Milton Keynes is great too.
That's the biggest dilemma in listening to Queen, just when you think that you have a favorite song then you hear another song or version and it becomes your new favorite. And on and on and on
I enjoy both equally. Both stunning :D
In the Montreal video, the Somebody to love is played from the second night, the first night doesn't haven't but thankfully has an audience recording, if you want to check it out it very similar to this version in Milton Keynes.

Love watching Queen love performances. Genius for recording these concerts. Feels like you are there-every concert❤️❤️
He always said Freddie himself, that this song was better than BoRap! All versions are great!I think he was most proud of this song.

Actually Freddie loved the writing of this song more and this was his Favorite song. But I don't know about ''better than BoRap'' but maybe true since Somebody To Love is his all time favorite Queen Song which he has written.
I also ❤️ and enjoy this song Montreal 1981 🥰
A master class in theatrical prowess , with a slice of Aretha Franklin for effect... Bloody marvelous stuff. A real boohooer for people who feel Freddie's passionate delivery. 3 support bands plus Queen for around a Tenner.

One of Freddie's best Haha love your reaction hapz freddie phenomenal no doubt hapz 👌👏👏👏😍
I loved your reaction, Hap!! And I also prefer this one. Montreal is great, but this one has some special energy.
As an American, most of us really like hearing "bloody" from British folks.
Hey Hap - I’ve been re-watching your Queen video reactions .... this is my favorite live performance of Somebody To Love!! I’m missing your Queen reactions!! 💗

HE!!!!!
Happy birthday Freddie Mercury Forever ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Sure did put a huge smile on your face ... so sweet 😀
So wow I never seen this one at the bowl right on love this Hap 💗 thanks peace from Ohio 3-1-22,🌹👑🍀🌟💫🥰❤️👏👍✌️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🕊️
My favourite version of this great song.
I suggest you react to "Nevermore", it is a song on their 2nd album. Freddie's voice is especially beautiful in this, the only downside to it, is that it's only 1 min and 18 secs long. :/ And this performance is so bloody amazing, I love your reactions!!
That my favorite somebody to love
Oh I loved the cat!!! If I had to compare this against Montreal, I would say that I do prefer this version (even though I’ve seen Montreal so many times). The beginning is so much stronger here and also the crowd seemed amazing here. The crowd at Montreal just didn’t seem like they wanted to participate in the song.
I think they did want to participate but the filmmaker told them not to move because the whole concert was being filmed.
Your kitty is sooooo adorable, they really improvised a lot , that's live concerts for ya, skill
Another great reaction from Hap and cat! I also agree that this is better than Montreal, both are great but this just had that extra something. The whole concert is on youtube but unfortunately the quality isn't great, definitely worth watching though.
Awesome stuff hey,
........Of alllllll the reactions by alllllll the reactors on YT, this is still my favorite (and Hap is still the BEST reactor); I've re-watched it so many times, I've decided to keep track and see how high the number of times I watch it, goes up to (along w several others in your most awesomest playlist for Freddie Addicts). ;D
Loved it!
Freddie would have loved that you were watching with your cat :)
Thats comforting to hear. Thank you. 💜
Really enjoyed your reaction and Mr cat.❤️😍💥
Take care. QUEEN BEE.
If NASA ever goes on a mission to mercury, they should name the mission Freddie
Please react to PLAY THE GAME at the same concert- Milton Keys. Excellent!!
You should try to watch this full concert, they enter the stage to flash, then sing the hero song from flash Gordon and right into a fast version of we will rock you ,it's amazing.
