This one always brings tears! I love both versions, Brian's and Freddie's. I guess knowing the backstory of Brian and the story of Freddie, both are fitting but Freddie's version absolutely kills me. Great reaction! Thanks.
Brian wrote this song while struggling with the fact he was in love with someone while still being married. The guilt was almost too much for him. He’s still married to the lady he fell in love with and he had divorced his wife. Brian discussed in a documentary that he had even had suicidal thoughts and thankfully got professional help. Brian originally sang it, but decided it needed his pal Freddie’s unique vocals. Freddie absolutely took Queen to another level. The other 3 are fabulous musicians, but the musical genius and God given talent of Freddie put them over the top. There will never be another. I still miss him after all these years. Loved the band in 1974 and still love the original group.
@@williamluke2 I thought it was about Freddie too at first. Brian talked about it on a documentary. Brian initially sang it, but said he felt Freddie could do it more justice with his power and range. He discussed he never thought he would ever be divorced. He met Anita and it was an instant connection. He said he struggled for quite a long time, not wanting to hurt his wife but finally he came to the realization he was very much in love with Anita and had to face up having a conversation with his wife. Brian said he dealt with guilt and sadness for a long time. Happily, he and Anita are still married after all these years. I’ve never heard how his first wife handled all of this back then. I’m sure she was blindsided by the conversation.
@@dana_brooke_27 Freddie never sang this song live, not ever. 1992 tribute concert, Brian performed it and clearly says the song has never seen the light of day. Until it appeared on Brian's solo album Back To The Light, then turns out Queen done a version with Freddie singing it, which appeared on the Made In Heaven Album. But no this was never ever performed by Freddie live, because he wasn't performing live when this was written
There are a handful of Queen songs that make me immediately tear up and this is one of them. Beautiful, emotional, song written by Brian, but so fitting for Freddie. What a talent, what a life he led. He had many personal ups and downs, like every human being does, but he accomplished so much into the years he lived. What a legacy. No one can sing like him. No one can replace him.
As you concluded yourself long before, there are no bad Queen songs. There are only good songs, great songs and beautiful songs. "Too much love will kill you" is a true Beauty! The melody and lyrics fit so perfectly together and they touch you every time especially with that heavenly Freddie's voice. We are all so (rightfully) mesmerized with Freddie's shining persona and extraordinary voice but I think that Brian May deserves so much credit as a fantastic songwriter. This quiet, sensitive gentleman gave us so many wonderful songs, I always found his lyrics exceptional. Who would think that Mr May wrote this beauty we just listened and at the same time was able to be quite naughty and wild when he wrote "Fat Bottomed Girls" and "Tie Your Mother down" " :-)) Thank you for this song choice and the emotional feedback and appreciation, this song deserves it, Freddie certainly deserves every teary eye when we listen to him, the ultimate performer!
Queen, the originals, are absolutely breathtaking, amazing, and those 4 were just made for one another, as a band. And Freddie Mercury was/is an absolute God. He really was, and still is the King of Queen 👑👑👑
I love Freddie singing this song, I know Brian wrote it about his life and his solo version is just as heart wrenching! That’s Freddie for you always joking, then singing something serious. The song does ring true for Freddie knowing what happened with him. Shadow of a man? Maybe I’m Going Slightly Mad? Absolutely Freddie did take Queen to the top! What a gorgeous, talented, vocalist and frontman! Absolutely beautiful reaction Hap! I still love you, Freddie said that after Love Of My Life.
You managed to make me cry again. It's that I can't, it's seeing him and feeling his voice with so much feeling and it's sinking. There isn't a day that goes by without listening to one of her songs or Queen's, and there's not a day that doesn't make my heart shrink when I see him so full of life and shed a few tears at the thought that he left us too young. 💔💔💔 FREDDIE FOREVER !!!
Brian's solo version of this song is even more gut wrenching as he wrote it about the dissolution of his marriage, but it does seem appropriate to Freddie's life as well. Let Me Live, also from the Made In Heaven album, is a great song.
Hands down top 3 lol. I can never say absolute favorite. 💔 As has been said many times, Brian was a hella songwriter. Roger was asked why he didn’t sing on later albums and said, “well when you can have Freddie sing your songs you just hand him the mic”
I think your reaction was perfect! Thank you so much for sharing your reaction with me! I absolutely love Freddie Mercury, and always will! I miss him so much but he lives on with his music and being such an inspiration to so many people! I literally cried my heart out!
This IS beautiful song. It is a tragedy that all of us have to face but we do. Thanks for the request, Debra. That was a great choice. I hadn't heard that before. Thanks for your reaction, too, KP. Keep us with you on your journey. Deal?
Love Freddie always. This is a queen song - written by brian may. Brian also includes in his solo work and there is a version where brian sings it. The one named similar that is Freddie's solo work is LOVE KILLS - originally a fast paced song and later made into a ballad by queen members after freddie died and included in Queen Forever album - a compliation album of previous recorded queen songs.
I cry everytime I hear this, the lyric omg and when he sings I’m just a shadow of the man I just to bee, it breaks my heart a 1.000 times, Thank you for react to this Hap,, it so incredible sad and beauty song, he had this mezmarazinh voice even he was nearly death 😢💕
I just love every single of your reactions. I would love to see you reacting to the song called “mother love”, which is the last song, in which we can here Freddie’s voice. He wasn’t even able to sing the last verse, so Brian had to sing it. A very sad, but beautiful song.
There's 3 songs sung by Freddie that have the same feel (for me) - really emotional, sad but at the same time hopeful: 1) "Time waits for no one" 2)"Too much love will kill you" and 3) "Don't try so hard". You really should listen to the last one if you haven't yet. Freddie's voice is incredible in all 3.
Sorry i am late to this video. I had to go to the hospital for a procedure and i am now getting to your video. This is another song that makes me cry because of the lyics. BRIAN wrote this song he also sings it too in another video. Yet again another banger by DR. BRIAN HAROLD MAY. Great reaction glad the picture is back and I love your sweathers you good in them if you dont mind me saying so. BRIAN was going through alot of stuff at the time when he wrote this you know like FREDDIE'S illness and a nasty divorce with his wife. There is alot of meaning to this song but when FREDDIE sings it wow just too much for me to handle. Thank you HAP for yet again another great reaction. Love ya my brother. Take care. Your girl QUEEN BEE.
Great reaction Haps, you'd be forgiven in thinking this was written by Freddie about himself but was in fact written by Brian during his personal problems.
I love your Queen reactions. I would like to suggest you to react to an awesome song called " let me in your heart again" thank you in advance. My love from Greece 🇬🇷
Love the reaction 👑❣️👏👏👏. It was a BM song and written about the pain he felt as a result of his marital affair and then divorce from wife (he married the lady concerned and they have been together 16 years) . To me this always comes across more strongly when I think of it in context of the life and death issue of AIDS rather than someone being conflicted about partners (maybe I am not very romantic ?? dunno) . So I guess that’s why I prefer this version sung by Freddie with all the power and strength rather than a more gentle voice..
Brian May wrote this song while they were creating The Miracle album in the late 80s, so they recorded a version originally intended for that album. Early versions of the album even have it on the track list. However, Brian wrote this song with two people outside of Queen. That is a significant fact, because it is while they were making The Miracle that they decided from then on to label each song as written by “Queen” so the four of them could share the royalties. Involving others would cause some publishing problems. So the song was axed from the album. The public first got to hear the song when Brian performed a solo version at The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in ‘92, making it seem as if the song was written about Freddie instead of Brian’s marriage problems. Brian made a solo version for his debut solo album “Back To The Light” from ‘93, which made it to #5 on the British charts, becoming the most successful single from that album. The original Queen version was later released on the posthumous Made In Heaven album in late ‘95. This was also a single, but pretty much bombed, probably because Brian’s solo version came first. I strongly feel that if this version were on The Miracle, we’d be talking about this song much more than we are.
I think the song you are thinking of is These Are The Days Of Our Lives. It was Freddie’s last video and at the end he looks directly at the camera and says “I still love you”. Thanks for another great reaction!
Sure, each member was important, but Freddie was the center and the glue. Funny thing to notice: When you watch concert footage, there's plenty of shots of the other band members -- mostly Brian May during guitar solos, etc. -- but when you watch Live Aid, where the BBC was making the camera choices for a worldwide TV audience, Freddie was the camera focus 99.99999% of the time (and I left off a few 9's). They knew. heh. Where he says "I still love you" is during "Love of My Life" at Wembley in '86. And please, please, please, please, please, when you get to "Mother Love" -- Freddie's last recording that he was too sick to complete -- use the lyric video, not the one out there with outtakes from some unrelated sci-fi/space travel movie. That version is a blasphemy and distracts from the voice and the words. IMO
Brian wrote a beautiful song, torn between his wife and his lover Anita, both of them sing this song so well,Brian and Freddie, love the complilation of Freddie at all different venues, totally beautiful song!
Thank you for playing QUEEN = TOO MUCH LOVE WILL KILL YOU . I agree with your reaction, it pulls on the heart strings like upside said , but I request it often = I quess you know BRAIN MAY wrote that song and I Heard him sing it and it is beautiful!!
When you asked the question about when you have heard a shadow of a man before I think of bo rhap but instead of shadow of a man it's I see a little silhouetto of a man which is the same thing but worded different. and to answer your question about when Freddie ends a song with I still love you were thinking of These are the days of our lives. this is such a beautiful but heart wrenching song it makes me wish Freddie was still with us and why he was taken from us all so soon. I miss Freddie so much
I’ve been a Queen fan since I was 12, in 1972. The album was the 1st after Freddie’s death. Hearing this for the first time ripped my heart in two. Four years later, in 1996, this song became my reality when my doctor informed me that after having lived 12 years with a virus they told me was going to kill me “within 6-12 months, I’m no longer simply HIV+, I’m now totally full blown AIDS! 28 years since then and now and my body is fighting a war against the drugs I take to fight the virus that is trying to destroy the very cells needed to destroy it. Hopefully healthcare will become human right before I become too tired.
I still love you - last Freddie's words from These are the days of our lives- beautiful song by Roger. Please react to this song too. And to Brian's version
One of Brian May's most intimate and personal songs. He wrote this with his marriage ending in mind and subsequent relationship with his present wife Anita. It's such a beautiful song
This is the Queen version not Freddie solo song...with a different fan made video...it’s from the made in heaven album written by Brian & friends It was supposed to be on the miracle but due to legal issues it wasn’t included. It first appeared on Brian’s solo album in 1992 after he sung it at Freddie tribute concert. I think this Queen version is superb
This song's lyrics are so well written and emotional, combined with Freddie's voice, it made this song one of my All time favourite queen songs Emotional, Powerful, Impactful Have you done Queen ''Is this the world Created'' It is a very powerful little song which Freddie and Brian wrote together. It resonates perfectly with what's happening in the world currently. It was performed at Live Aid Pls do the Studio Version first as it is Phenomenal. Your queen reactions are something else ❤️
This song was recorded first, but Brian Mays acoustic version was released first. Curly Watts girlfriend in Coronation street many moons ago (the one that died in the supermaket walk in freezer) is the actress in the official Queen video.
Thanks for the reaction. This song is really touching. Now you really should react to the VIDEO for Brian's solo version. Brian owns this song on an emotional level more than Freddie, I think. You can see in Brian's teary eyes the pain and the sadness he was going through.
LOVE OF MY LIFE at Wembley 1986. Freddie also says it in the last video THESE ARE THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES (saying good-bye to his fans 😢) I had to edit cuz I typed the wrong name of Freddie’s last video. My bad but I’m sincere!!
The joke at the beginning was because it was raining. There is a comment on here explaining how Brian wrote it about a time he was going through. There is also a version where Brian sings it. This seems to be a tribute to Freddie.
6:53 yes that's true. 10:37 I can explain it. So the ''I still love you'' comes from Love of my Life. He always says that in the song. He also used the I still love you in ''These are the days of our lives'' and I still love you was the last word Freddie said in the Music Video to ''These are the days of our lives'' (which was his last ever music video). And Mother Love is Freddie's Last ever sung song that he couldn't finish and Brian had to do the end, tho that doesn't have anything to do with the rest lol. 10:54 yes it is from the Made in Heaven Album it was still fully Queen with every member. As much as I love this Version of the song and also this great fan made Video. NOTHING can convince me that this would be better than the Original by Brian. Brian first performed this song in Freddie's Tribute Concert and the song wasn't even released yet, so it was the first time the audience ever heard this song. And then when Brian released his solo album (The same album Resurrection is in) that's the first time the song got released. This version got released later since the Made in Heaven album got released in 1995 and Back to the Light (Brian's album) in 1992. And also Brian wrote this song and I can feel his Version much more since its like the song was made just for him. I mean I appreciate Freddie's cover and his Voice is just outstanding, but Brian really puts out more emotion since its his Life experience and stuff. Brian also used to sing a part of the song in a different language depending in which country he performed the song. Brian's Version is much more acoustic but his Voice makes his Version great. This Version you could say is so Queen, but I really like Brian's Original more. You really need to check out Brian's Version, he also has a music video to it. (link if you need th-cam.com/video/rNa5kRX45tg/w-d-xo.html ). Great Reaction.
Hearing Freddie sing this, and watching all the clips of him at his prime always makes me cry. Brian said that when Freddie recorded it he could see that the lyrics were telling Freddie's story, and he felt that Freddie knew that too. So utterly sad and such a tragic loss 😢😢😢
All the songs on the Made in Heaven album were recorded by Freddie when he was sick and finished by the band after he had died which is why the video is a compilation of others. Brian’s version is even more poignant
He said I still love you in These are the days of our lives and it was his last video performance, because he was fading away Brian had to complete Mother love. Both songs make me cry plus this one
In the Beatle song "Yesterday," one of the lyrics is "I'm just half the man I used to be." That's the closest I could think of to "I'm just a shadow of the man I used to be."
Brian and Freddie both sing on this song and Brian has a solo version. Brian sang this song at Freddie's Tribute concert. Brian wrote this song and Freddie laid some tracks but Brian finished the ones that Freddie didn't get back to cover.
the song the there is a word last i still love you was the song... These Are The Days of Our Lives this was his last video freddie sang and at the end he said " i still love you"
I also like Brians solo version even moreso . Brian wrote it about his early bad marriage , and the emotion is far more real in Brians version , though Freddie is remarkable as usual , just a much different interpretation
I don’t think it was a “bad marriage” and therefore that was why he was so conflicted. They had kids, dad away touring a lot, long hours in studio etc etc ... not easy on any marriage... then he met Anita and that overlap period where he was still with his wife and kids but seeing Anita was the cause of traumatic emotions he felt (apparently) ... obviously I am only going on what Brian himself has said about it in interviews etc.
I agree with you: Roger, Brian and John were/are amazing musicians, the best of the best,, but Freddie had magic. This song is simply brilliant and I prefer this version over Brian's. To me, Brian sounds like he wants you to be sorry for him, and Freddie sounds like he's sharing all his feelings with you. I like Brian's voice better when he's being sweet, in All Dead, All Dead or 39, for example. You're right, the "I still love you" line is from These are the days of our lives, the last video he did. It's a difficult one.
Bohemian Rhapsody was "make or break" for the band because the business side had taken advantage of them (Death on two legs) and they were completely broke financially.
Está canción la escribió Brian cuando estaba pasando por su divorcio ya que le había sido infiel a su esposa. Podrías reaccionar a ella pero cantada por Brian? El vídeo es emotivo, su expresión 😔
I'm sure some of the fans will be upset about my comment, that I'm about to make, but its okay. The four individuals in Queen all wrote songs, and was accredited accordingly, but while Freddie was sick, all four decided to credit all songs from then on, to Queen. Then all of of sudden after Freddie's, death and John's retirement, Brian came out with, I wrote this and I wrote that song. What happened to the decision, Queen wrote it. Make no mistake, All four of the members are excellent songwriters and musicians. My question is, where is the camaraderie? What happened to the decision of "we". Lastly, I agree, Freddie was the glue, the balance, an amazing musician and front man. His voice is something to behold. And yes, I attend to agree, he did put Queen on the map. A wonderful weekend to all.
Everybody (almost) knew who wrote each of the songs and that some of the songs were written by Freddie and Brian jointly. And that after a song was written the whole group would alter it to make improvements. (Some of their biggest arguments.) That was never a secret. The joint credit to Queen was given on only a couple of the albums that were released. Here are the number of songs written by each member of Queen: Freddie Mercury: 71 Brian May: 64 Roger Taylor: 33 John Deacon: 26 Thanks to the hard work of Brian and Roger over the years since Freddie's death his name and music live on and have been discovered by several new generations of fans. Without their efforts (and their love for Freddie), only a dwindling number of senior citizens would even remember the name of Queen or Freddie Mercury and just one or two of the songs would currently be played but not recognized as Queen songs. I deeply appreciate what they have done to keep Freddie alive for the world and the millions of dollars they have raised for the Mercury Phoenix Trust. They have stayed true to Freddie's wishes "You can do what you want with my music," he said, "but don't make me boring."
This one always brings tears! I love both versions, Brian's and Freddie's. I guess knowing the backstory of Brian and the story of Freddie, both are fitting but Freddie's version absolutely kills me. Great reaction! Thanks.

There's 3 songs sung by Freddie that have the same feel (for me) - really emotional, sad but at the same time hopeful: 1) "Time waits for no one" 2)"Too much love will kill you" and 3) "Don't try so hard". IMO
Understood!!! Thank u.
Yes definitely!!!
Beautiful, emotional song!!! Great reaction. Great album Made in Heaven.
Queen got me again......it never fails 🎵🎶🎵🎶
Brian wrote a beautiful song, torn between his wife and his lover Anita, both of them sing this song so well,Brian and Freddie, love the complilation of Freddie at all different venues, totally beautiful song!
Cried yesterday listening to "Made in Heaven", crying again....it just never stops to tear your heart out ..
I miss Freddie so much
great reaction, as always...so glad you got your Queen stamps back.
Love this song.
" I still love you " is in the live videos of Love of my life....great reaction!
Yes! Thank you!
Good luck to you J Michael.
Great Hap, I felt lost without the photo. Agree with you, You can hear his influence through their development. I’m still addicted on utube.
One of my favorites. Thanks for sharing. Love your turtleneck. Wish we had cool weather too. Today it was 99°.
The song he said "I still love you" at the end is These Are The Days of Our Lives..
I still love you - last Freddie's words from These are the days of our lives- beautiful song by Roger. Please react to this song too. And to Brian's version
The way he says sunshine Beautiful ❤️
this was so nice song of queen and i always love queen song thank you to all just enjoyed how you reacted God bless all.. 🙏🙏🙏
Freddie is Queen! I still love you x
One of Brian May's most intimate and personal songs. He wrote this with his marriage ending in mind and subsequent relationship with his present wife Anita. It's such a beautiful song
A Brian May masterpiece. If you haven’t done Brian’s version you should.
Good stuff Hap. Like the picture is back.
I listen to this song and It's a beautiful Day...Off the Made in Heaven album
That went straight to my soul.🙏❤
There will never be another Freddie ❤❤❤ 🎸🎤🎸🎤 🇬🇧🇬🇧
All I can do is wipe my tears after that!!!💔😭
just wait until you hear No One But You, by Queen. get yer tissues. thanks for this. such a great song.
This is the Queen version not Freddie solo song...with a different fan made video...it’s from the made in heaven album written by Brian & friends
It was supposed to be on the miracle but due to legal issues it wasn’t included. It first appeared on Brian’s solo album in 1992 after he sung it at Freddie tribute concert.
I think this Queen version is superb
Was actually Brian’s highest chart solo hit (to date) in UK #5 and was #1 in a few places
Excellent Mark!! The thumbnail and title have been amended. Cheers. 👍🏽💜
I love this version too!
What a beautiful, beautiful song.
This song's lyrics are so well written and emotional, combined with Freddie's voice, it made this song one of my All time favourite queen songs
Emotional, Powerful, Impactful
Have you done Queen ''Is this the world Created''
It is a very powerful little song which Freddie and Brian wrote together.
It resonates perfectly with what's happening in the world currently.
It was performed at Live Aid
Pls do the Studio Version first as it is Phenomenal.
Your queen reactions are something else ❤️
Thank you for this. My God you touched my soul! I have MS..And I love you!
This was Brian"s song but when Freddie did it it had a whole new meaning
Freddie Forever x
This song was recorded first, but Brian Mays acoustic version was released first. Curly Watts girlfriend in Coronation street many moons ago (the one that died in the supermaket walk in freezer) is the actress in the official Queen video.
Those were the days. I still love you ❤️
Thanks for the reaction.
"I still love you" from Love of my Life, live at Wembley
Hearing Freddie sing this, and watching all the clips of him at his prime always makes me cry.
Brian said that when Freddie recorded it he could see that the lyrics were telling Freddie's story, and he felt that Freddie knew that too. So utterly sad and such a tragic loss 😢😢😢
All the songs on the Made in Heaven album were recorded by Freddie when he was sick and finished by the band after he had died which is why the video is a compilation of others. Brian’s version is even more poignant
I still love you video from Love of My Life, also said it at the end of These are the Days of Our Lives
Thank you for teaching us to listen to the musical instruments. I’m getting more in gaged in the background and I get more out the song
Brians version is also excellent. Brian also did a live version as a tribute to Fred - very moving
He said I still love you in These are the days of our lives and it was his last video performance, because he was fading away
Brian had to complete Mother love.
Both songs make me cry plus this one
Wow I never heard or saw this. Thank you.
In the Beatle song "Yesterday," one of the lyrics is "I'm just half the man I used to be." That's the closest I could think of to "I'm just a shadow of the man I used to be."
Correct. It is.
@@HAP3SPEAKZ Yay! Hey, another fabulous reaction, by the way - meant to say that, lol. Thanks!
Brian and Freddie both sing on this song and Brian has a solo version. Brian sang this song at Freddie's Tribute concert. Brian wrote this song and Freddie laid some tracks but Brian finished the ones that Freddie didn't get back to cover.
That last comment was at the end of Love of my Life at Wembley
the song the there is a word last i still love you was the song... These Are The Days of Our Lives this was his last video freddie sang and at the end he said " i still love you"
5:04 In these are the days of our live he says "I used to be a sunshine" could that be why the phrase comes to mind?
Queen are not human, but Freddie is in his own league
You've Got to check out innuendo!!! You'll completely love that song! So many different parts to it!! Hope to hear your reaction to it!!
I love this track
I agree with you: Roger, Brian and John were/are amazing musicians, the best of the best,, but Freddie had magic.
This song is simply brilliant and I prefer this version over Brian's. To me, Brian sounds like he wants you to be sorry for him, and Freddie sounds like he's sharing all his feelings with you. I like Brian's voice better when he's being sweet, in All Dead, All Dead or 39, for example.
You're right, the "I still love you" line is from These are the days of our lives, the last video he did. It's a difficult one.
That made me cry
Here are the number of songs written by each member of Queen:
Freddie Mercury: 71
Brian May: 64
Roger Taylor: 33
John Deacon: 26
Thanks to the hard work of Brian and Roger over the years since Freddie's death his name and music live on and have been discovered by several new generations of fans.
I so agree and Fredddie was the main man in this band without a doubt.
Please listen to Brian’s version… the pain in his voice and on his face is almost unbearable. Freddie is amazing of course but Brian’s is just raw
