Take away Ronaldo's goal scoring, you're left with a good attacking player.
Take away Messi's goal scoring, you're left with a world class midfielder and attacking player.
Messi is also ahead in goals per game. There really isn't much argument to be made that Messi is in a league of his own.

we just lack the quality to defend the lead im sorry to say this but we just need to invest in a few players it is as simple as that.. the same squad every time except moura we need to freshen it up.. and with injuries it just shows our lack of squad depth to be honest as our subs are worse than our first team
