Very nice recap and thoughts video ! as a veteran who hasn't been playing for a long while - are definetly considering coming back. SOD seems promising for a fresh take atleast with some interesting twists. Also superb quality of the video, sound - visuals and the editing is tip top ! keep it up !
I’m actually like the idea of opening more roles to the classic classes. (Ex. Tank rogue & warlock, healer mage, melee hunter, etc) it’s a welcomed change and I believe it would make forming groups easier, if the runes are difficult to get. I agree with your concern on how they will address other features of classsic wow, such as professions, open world quest difficulty now that we have more power (runes), and class balance. I really want classic to remain dependent on group play, communication, and community, I was the solo experience while questing to remain somewhat difficult compared to retail. I also hope they really address above concerns because I definitely feel that just the announced features isn’t enough for a true classic+ that the players can commit to. I hope that SoD is something they plan to commit to long term and not just shoot out a 3rd version of classic wow then 1.5years later they will shoot out a 4th version with minimal changes.
Gonna push out another vid in another couple days talking in greater depth about concerns like these. Overall I'm excited but I think it's important for community to share the points of concern they have. Especially because the more I think about it, the more I feel SoD is just blizz test run on eventual classic+, which is why they're throwing so much in so fast. Appreciate the comment!
mate orcs are brutes that love close quarter combat. Let them have a slight bonus over all other races and play something you find cool. I'll be rolling troll shaman
I kinda disagree about the mages. Yes maybe they can be suplementary healers not on the same level as priests for example but the "Chronomancer" term has been seen and heard b4 about how mages can turn arcane into healing by using the power of time etc etc which is basically what they did here with the Temporal Beacon.
Fair enough, but iirc that's kinda been speculation territory and never seen mages healing in any canon lore or gameplay, especially in classic era or WC3 era lore
Good vid. My reaction to the Season of Discover: pessimistically optimistic. It's shoe horning a lot class changes from later expansions at once in a crazy Action RPG fashion that is not at all geared towards your typical Vanilla WoW Enjoyer. It will be fun to discover unique interactions with new class changing abilities, but I think the excitement for this product will fizzle out after a few months and people who like retail (who this seems to cater to) will return to retail, and people who like classic (who was clearly not the target audience that was being "listened to") will return once more to the era servers.
I don't know why its so hard for them to see what has been proven to work, and what has not. OSRS has close to a perfect system when it comes to adding new content to an old game. Poll the players and have the new updates be in the spirit of classic. Nobody asked for a rogue tank. Nobody asked for a healer mage. This really looks like a low effort private server mod. I guess only time will tell how good this will be in the end.
Audio quality much better nice job

Thanks for that, means a lot!
this got a returning player since Legion to come back. Cannot wait
With just a couple reservations :) I am pumped too. See you out there!
I'm most excited about the SOLO SELF FOUND option. Any estimates on when it will drop?
I'd guess in Jan. It will probably fill the space between the first and second SoD raid

It would be very smart if every race had a +5 weapon skill. Otherwise I will only be able to play Orc again and that would be a real shame. :(
Missed that one, really good point. Hope they tweak that situation somehow.

SoD Hype!
I think what they added is fine. I'm just concerned that the original world would feel less dangerous with the new runes.
Same. I feel like they went a little overboard with the new abilities. 4 new abilities at 25 is a lot.

the void isn't anything new to classic.. just saying
i keep seeing people say that this is some kind of new thing but it's not
I'm resubed for another 2 months.... That's something XD
Just sounds like theyre stealing ideas from turtlewow and ascension
The irony of that statement...
Good! Everyone should be stealing the best ideas and avoiding the bad ones to make everything better.
Short release from announcement and no public testing. These idiots learn nothing.
But they can just make another wow when they ruin this one too.
