Jackermeier is probably not interested in answering costumers questions anymore. He did it with one TH-camr and you could see in the video that it was a drag for him to answer them (especially due to the fact that the TH-camr wasn't really being easy on him). The only take away from the interview was that he regretted... that he lost money during the black friday sales. Not an ounce of regret that their costumers lose faith in the company or are still waiting for their products. I still hope that you'll get to interview him, Will. It would be interesting to see what he has to say, and I'm sure you'll ask all the right questions yourself.
And he also blamed customers for orders not fulfilled. He doesn't take any responsibility for taking people's money and doesn't give a refund and being notified when an item is back in stock. I was one of those people that got scammed that never received order and never got a refund. Fanatec have lost all credibility with most customers and you can see it by the amount of people selling their fanatec gear online.

I sold all my Fanatec gear due to my customer service issues. Emails went unanswered, orders pushed back a month. Cancelled my pending orders, decided to go with Simagic and have everything within a week. Crazy how I thought waiting months for sim racing gear was normal.
It’s a good wheel, I owned two versions. But it could be made better. Most newer wheels, even cheap ones, at least have RGB LED lighting around the buttons. Look at that new Simagic wheel for example. They don’t have to “reinvent” the wheel, just improve it!😂
Great to hear Fanatec is still operating. I'm still waiting for £1000+ of gear that was supposed to be 'in stock'. Zero update, zero replies from them. I'm starting to believe that company deserves to go under. Endor AG share price last 12 months -73.48%. There's a clue.
Same thing happened to me. I ordered $2K CAD worth of stuff on January 2nd, none of which was back ordered or out of stock. I just received a response last night after numerous attempts, emailed every department I could. The reason they gave me was there was an error in their system which didn't push my order through to the warehouse, so nothing happened from the start of January until now. They acknowledged that none of the items I ordered were back ordered at the time of the order, nor are they at this time. All they offered in compensation was to express ship my order. Overall, not impressed. I'm on console (PS5), so I'm stuck with Fanatec, otherwise I would have cancelled my order after the first month of no response and gone with Asetek or Simagic. You get way more for the price, but they're only PC compatible, unfortunately.

Considering how Fanatec has too few resources to deal with their driver, firmware, support, and logistics issues, I think it would be best to go to literally any other brand, regardless of what you think of their products. I say this after my own personal experience with their logistics and support, or lack thereof. Personally, I'd rather go after an Asetek setup.
yeah I've read a ton of bad press but then again the price just was too good, compared to other brands, as well as the delivery costs were reasonable compared to the rest. I took the risk and was not dissapointed. The delivery was super fast (ordered on Friday, arrived next Tuesday) all arrived, nothing uncomplete, all working very well, quality of all the goods were top notch. Bough the CSL DD bundle with basic pedals and wheel just to get my feet wet. But yeah, having in mind bad customer service I'm basically praying now for nothing to go bad :D But all in all I'm super duper satisfied with Fanatec even if others are not, which of course should not be the case.
@@markpharoah1297 Correct. For console, the options are severely limited. Asetek does plan on bringing console support, and even spoke of doing upgrades to the wheelbases when that happens. Unfortunately, nothing has been announced yet.

Being honest when I was looking to get my setup going a few months ago I saw all the negative coverage of Fanatec and went the way of Moza and also had shipping issues with them too, to the point where they emailed me saying that despite me paying a premium for shipping costs the bundle (R5) wouldn't be there in the advertised/listed timeframe and if I wanted to get it expedited I had to pay them *another premium* of like $75 to get it shipped from China to the US (still wouldn't have arrived in the timeframe advertised anyway, we were 2 weeks past that at this point). I sent them a rather honest email stating I was frustrated with the fact I was forced into paying extra for "fast premium shipping" and it was quite tacky of them to not only sell people an item they didn't have rather than listing it as a backorder and telling me upfront there will be an extended wait, but to then say "well we do have the item just overseas and we aren't going to pay the shipping costs to get it to you directly" instead of China -> US Warehouse in CA -> US Warehouse in my state (MI) -> My home. After that, they sent me a funky email with quite literally nothing but a line of "............." followed by another email stating they had shipped me a bundle directly from China and to expect it in approximately 1-2 weeks. Giving them credit where it's due, they did eat the cost of shipping to get it to me once I voiced my frustration, but coming into the sim racing space and hearing Fanatec horror stories followed by that slightly bumpy Moza experience spooked me and since I've gone the way of buying used but good quality accessories rather than brand new from manufacturer.
Had the same exact issue pretty much getting my r9. I orderd it and some stuff for it and got evything but my base within like a week. The base was delayed for a while and i sent multiple emails asking where my stuff is and never got a response... only to find out it was deleyd 2 weeks. When the 2 weeks came and went and still no updates i sent another email asking where it is and saying that was frustrated with how they handle there shipping issues. It just showed up randomly at my house like 2 weeks later. Got an email like a week later saying sorry for the no replys and that they are busy lmao. Been a Fanatec DD Pro user since a few years , reading all the issues people are having just acquiring their product I am absolutely shocked. They did fine DURING THE PANDEMIC !!
Why are they still making these wheels WITHOUT clutches.... They are falling behind faster and faster... They have quickly become Thrustmaster, but worse due to Customer service and shipping issues
3:15 Between the order delay issues, the quality control issues, the customer service issues, and insane return/service times I think the best advice at this time is to not buy Fanatec products. I've bought nothing but Fanatec wheels and pedals for almost a decade now but at this point I simply can't recommend them. Especially with how good their competition has become. Hopefully they can get their house back in order soon.
I am selling my fanatec gear, wheels, base, pedals and going to chose a company that listens to customers input and delivers on it by bringing new products to the market. I have had contact with MOZA and it is always been positive with a person on the phone talking to me. Fanatecs only contact is email and they reply with an automated message which in my opinion is unprofessional.

I’m really glad you said you wanna see a new design from fanatec because especially seeing moza’s fsr wheel, and the Porsche 911 rsr wheel, leoxz, and a bunch of other wheels with integrated dashes, like a modern day formula or endurance car, I think that would be really nice to see a product like that. It’s a part of the market that people are trying to fill, but I feel that either it’s been too expensive, or just doesn’t get a lot of representation/ doesn’t have many options

But what Fanatec is doing with its clients (I have been one of them for more than 10 years and having spent thousands of dollars on their products such as the CSL elite and later the DD2, V3 pedals, handbrake and H shift , steering wheels like the BMW GT2, Porche GT3, Nascar, Sparco Rally etc...) There is no forgiveness for the customer treatment they are giving... orders delayed for several months, or lost shipments... etc. The best thing I have done is sell everything from Fanatec and switch to Asetek Invicta!!! Crazy the release schedule of these DD+ bundles, as you said giving people a choice would be a much better option. A new resign integrating a screen to a similar size of the DDX bundled wheel should have been developed here as a step towards a full F1 style wheel
Both of the CS DD+ bundles have been publically known about since investor relation leaks back in November. They are also releasing the Bentley wheel finally soon too.
The magnetic shifters on this wheel is super solid and not loud. I have the 2000 F1 year model and it's still going strong. Had to pay $500 for the wheel back then and only 499 were made.
@@geforce5591Yeah. But I have the F1 Bundle wheel that does have the APM. They're super useful for a lot of games. And it would just make for a great Bundle that competes what other brand wheels are coming with now days.
I wanted to upgrade from my Fanatec CSL Elite base and WRC wheel to a direct-drive setup. Rather than continue with Fanatec, I ordered the Simagic Alpha Mini with the GTS wheel which should be arriving soon. Looking forward to the review of that base on this channel too. Hopefully it works out.
People like to complain and fanatec have more wheelbase sold than anyone so thats alot of people to complain. The shipping problem is pretty much solved because now people wish they had time to cancel dd + extreme bundle for the f1 but its already been shipped. With f1 wheel bundle this new DD is at the top of its segment by far. Now if full force end up being just a little bit Okay , people are going to regret the move to chinese companies big time.
Made a preorder purchase that was supposed to be available between 3/11-3/14... Really hoping to get my base sent out around then. Did a lot of research, and for my set up- fanatec is the way to go. Really looking forward to it!
Kinda crazy they don't have QR2 equipped wheels available through their line-up. If I where into consoles, I'd hold off until they offered a QR2 version of the X-box compatible rim that you could buy without a useless QR1.

As someone who’s about to pull the trigger on a full blown sim setup, fanatec would need to drop something cool as hell for me to even consider them. Going the VRS Base and pedals route with Simagic hydro handbrake n dual shifter etc etc. only thing I want from fanatac is the Porsche wheel they make 🥵

I sent my wheelbase to fanatec to their repair shop in east Anglia i neeced the usb connection fixing, did a first class job got, it back exactly 1 week later the service was great, cant understand why peopli are saying the customer service was bad i had no trouble at all. I think some are just anti fanatec.
I really can't believe Fanatec keeps shipping effectively the same formula wheel with a fresh coat of paint year after year. At the very least modify the thumb encoders to give them more resistance. It really shouldn't take that much more development work to drastically improve one of the core functions of the wheel.

They're continuing to manufacture this same fundamental design without any revision and to me this just feels like they're resting on their laurels. If Fanatec improved the thumb encoders I would consider this wheel. Instead I'm looking at third party options for my next wheel or even leaving Fanatec completely.
I see a lot of people commenting about their fanatec experience so I might as well talk about mine. I got a gt dd pro with the csl wrc wheel with the qr1 lite, and the csl load cell pedals about 2 years ago, and with my old rig setup, I didn’t have a great experience, and had lots of slippage and clunking on my old qr1, and the pedals felt ok, but it was hard to brake consistently because the threshold point felt very vague and inconsistent, but then I decided during Black Friday when I saw the csl elite v2 pedals to go on sale to do an overhaul of my sim racing rig, and I gotta say it was very worth it to me. I upgraded to qr2, got the McLaren v2 wheel, and got the csl elite v2 pedals, and got a new seat for my rig and it’s been a much better experience. The new pedals feel so much better, and the new qr has no clunking, no flex, and the ff is much better as well. Been playing a lot of gran turismo 7 and assets corsa and having been enjoying it a ton. Also got their shifter as well and that’s been pretty good too. But now let me talk about shipping and wait times(posted in reply’s)
So my 1st order originally when I got is like 2 years ago I think I had to wait like a month or like 3 weeks, so it wasn’t terrible, but when I did my Black Friday order, I had to wait more like 2 months, which I wasn’t a huge fan about, and isn’t great, but I feel like at the end of the day it was worth it for me, especially because it seems to be one of the best ps5 setups you can get right now.(I love playing gt7) But also during Black Friday, I ordered a v2.5x because they had a good price on it, and I wanted a smaller wheel with a ton of inputs on it, and apparently they oversold it, and I would of had to wait till February to get it, but they gave me a 25% off my entire order if I canceled, so I ended up taking that, and placing a new order for a dd+, csl hub with the round 320, and the formula v2.5, with that 25% off which gave me a massive discount, and I was quite happy with that, except I’m still waiting for that order, which I placed I would say maybe late November early December. They say it’s going to ship late March, but from my experiences it’s probably going to be here sometime in April, bc shipping using takes a week or 2 as well. I think this wait time has been quite unacceptable, and I am not happy about it, but I can’t cancel either or I will lose that 25% discount I got. The only reason that I’m ok waiting is bc I have gear to hold me over, but I can see for a lot of people that dont have stuff to hold them over, waiting this long is completely unacceptable. Also I was very upset when I heard the dd extreme wheel would not be sold separately because I love playing gran turismo, and that wheel would be perfect for my needs, but I already have my order in for a dd+, and like I said earlier I can’t cancel because I would lose that discount.
I guess I’ll also add that I haven’t had any hardware issues, and besides clunky software installation and upgrades, my user experience has been really good, and I haven’t needed to contact support for pretty much anything. Everything has worked well, and nothing has been glitchy or stopped working on me.
Hi Boosted Medis, thanks for the video. I have a simple question for you. With the same force, for example 8 Nm on DD Pro and 8 Nm on DD+, do you notice the difference in details? Is the DD+ more fun? When I switched from the TGT-II to the DD Pro I was very disappointed, because the TGT-II offered much more details, and it was more fun 🤷🏼

I would suggest that since you may have influence, tell Fanatec to honor the bundle price for anyone that has a DD+ receipt or whatever …. many ways to take care of customers and still drive sales up
I ordered the DD+ Extreme package the same day they launched it, and it arrived at my house in 10 days. I am delighted with the product, the DD base is excellent, the steering wheel is a little plastic, but honestly with the magnetic paddles, clutch, screen and LEDs, I think it is a good price for €300. Someone tell me a steering wheel with those characteristics for that price, it doesn't exist. I have it with a metal QR2 that I had from another steering wheel and it works perfectly. I come from the DD Pro, and although the base DD+ is incredible, the truth is that the DD Pro is also sensational, and it is not necessary to update, especially if you play at around 6nm, because the changes to that strength are very subtle compared to the DD+. Finally, to say that the fact that Fanatec does not launch a Formula type steering wheel with a TFT screen is ridiculous.
DD pro 8Nm upgraded to qr2 slide i got for €19.99 on BF sale is decent upgrade for me . The feeling & easy to make corrections is noticeable. It’s what I imagine the dd+ is with more Nm power that you don’t need
@@internetuser1183 I also upgraded to QR2 on DD Pro because of BF. It improved a lot, but the CS DD has a little more speed, although at a "normal" strength to play I don't think it's an incredible difference either, it's subtle.

The clubsport formula at 270mm ads by itself the equivalent of two to three NM to the wheel base vs running a 300mm wheel. It’s amazing. I run a CSL DD at 8 NM and am holding of upgrading just because I’m running this wheel.
Looking to purchase either the Fanatec ClubSport Racing Wheel F1® DD+ Bundle with the V3 pedals or the Logitech G Pro bundle. Which do you think would be the better option?
I'm also hearing that most new orders are being shipped out reasonably quick as of 3/7/24. There's still some issues with old orders and customer service but at this time I'm fairly confident that if you place a new order now it should come relatively quick. Also we're still waiting for the exhaust update video!
The exhaust video will be a while yet. The valve is rattling badly and we’re waiting for a replacement spring. They’ve apparently changed the design slightly which should resolve it.
Companies will probably never announce products when availability is way out in the future since it would (1) set an expectation that they might not be able to deliver on (2) tip off competitors and remove competitive advantage and (3) it would probably hurt existing sales of available products while customers wait for the future one. I agree that it is upsetting to customers to buy a product and a better more suitable less expensive similar offering comes soon after the original purchase. But I doubt product companies will change their behavior since it could be very disadvantageous to them.
I am thinking about purchasing this ($1300 USD) bundle but also think purchasing the DD+ with the FORMULA V2.5X maybe makes more sense. Even though I am an exclusive Playstation user at the moment. For an extra $150 ( $1450 USD) it seems I can have the XBOX/Playstation compatibility in case I ever purchase an XBOX system in the future. Maybe it would even help future resell value thanks to the double compatibility
So I've already got a fanatec DD base with QR2 for my PS5 gaming and I want a formula wheel. Why don't they sell a compatible wheel? baffling. Why wouldn't they let you choose between QR1 or QR2 at purchase. Why would they make this wheel and the new GT wheel not available separately?
Hey Will, as someone looking to upgrade from the Moza R5 to a 9-12nm wheelbase, would you suggest this Fanatec bundle with the CSL Elite V2 pedals or the Asetek Prima bundle? (I drive a bit of everything on mostly PC)
I have zero complaints about Fanatec customer service and availability. I ordered the DD+, McLaren wheel, Round Clubsport wheel, and the F1 v2.5, about 10 days ago. They have shipped and are due to arrive, tomorrow. I am alittle frustrated that I could have saved $125 or so, on this bundle, but with my button cap accessaries pack, I should be able to dress up the wheel to be almost the same.
10 days, are you kidding? I ordered a shit ton of Simucube/Heusikveld/Ascher gear and everything arrived the next day - and this was from a dealer outside of my country.
My word of the years: delayed gratification. I own the DD Pro and wanted to upgrade to the DD+, but after the BF fiasco, I realized it was better to be happy with the equipment I already have AND equipment that has years of use in the world which means its mostly stable. I had no trust Fanatec would release something this new along with being so backed up from BF that this would be a smooth customer experience for a while. I have no idea if I will even trust them again to make a purchase in the future and most likely will find another DD company to move to when that time comes. Until then, I’ll enjoy the equipment I have.
Unless true force can really make me sense wheel spin and lockups I'd be sad to lose the vibration. It doesn't need fidelity for my usecase, and the response time isn't great but it's good enough that I can catch lockups and wheel spin quicker than I could visually or with just the wheel base FFB.
I bought a lot of fanatec products week ago in monday, the whole package shipped yesterday (wensday) i think the shipping in fanatec is pretty good at least for me i was worried about other peapole expierience with fanatec but with me it was allright
If you manage to find cheap second - hand options of Fanatec -> get it, its still great. however i think the driver updates for older bases are non - existent. Even podium 1 does not get any for more than a year i think. otherwise for PS5 i would consider to use something else + adapter, or Logitech DD (even if its more expensive).
I'm thinking of going with a full Simagic Ecosystem for my rig..... these issues with Fanatec are beyond a joke!!!! if I do, I'm thinking I will get a 15nm Alpha, GT1-R Wheel with GT Pro Hub, P1000's with Hydraulic Brake or just go straight to P2000's (only a $200AUD difference), Gear Shifter and the cheaper Handbrake (as this is going to cost a TONNE of money already LOL)
Thanks for the awesome review, such a tricky situation with handling the vendor relationship. I honestly love the variety of the accessories that they have. Just wish they had native support for PS5. I will just have to wait until they announce something.

Quality review. I came here because I heard that they had removed the vibration motors, and I kinda doubted that. But hearing that you actually tested the motors in the control panel and there was no response, I guess that means it's true. Also without the motor cut out in the carbon fiber frame, in addition to the bottom carbon fiber vs Limited F1 wheels, I bet this wheel is so much stiffer. Would you be able to throw it on the scale and give us the weight with that QR2 attached? Thanks,

I'm looking into getting the Clubsport DD wheelbase but I will be using it on the next level racing GT lite pro rig. I was wondering if the CS DD is too powerful for the rig despite them saying you can use a DD wheelbase up to 13 Nw on it. Would the CS DD be okay or should I look at the likes of Moza R12 or perhaps even a CSL DD Pro? Many thanks :)
My personal experience ordering from Fanatec is quite a positive one when it comes to shipping time. Ordered gt dd pro bundle with boost kit and load cell pedal and it was shipped next morning and would have been delivered in 3 days if I had not filled the address incorrectly. Since they ship via UPS I just called local customer support, got the address corrected and goods arrived the next working day. I have to say I was worried but it ended up being faster than 4-7 days they state on the website. I am living in the EU.
Honestly it’s better they didn’t make something super unique for this bundle given it’d be locked behind buying the wheelbase. Better to release something everyone can get their hands on.

Fanatecs American office is in the most expensive area on the planet. They waste ungodly amounts of money that could be spent improving their business. They absolutely do not need to be on Wilshire blvd in Beverly Hills. It's a giant red flag as they could be in the dessert 50 miles away for 25% of the rent they are currently paying. It's keeping them from hiring warehouse and customer service employees.
That's not really true, office space is cheap, warehousing is expensive And maybe I have just been lucky, but have never had any issues with Fanatec support or shipping

I used to live in LA and I can promise you that you don't know how expensive that place is until you go somewhere else. I own a house in the Midwest that cost $115k. I really hope that they make a new formula wheel with an actual screen, not that even williams have the screen on the wheel it self. Like even a small 3 inch screen would do. It's lame that they are basically selling the same wheel with different faceplates for ages

I’ve placed five orders with fanatec over the past 3 years. The two Black Friday orders took forever to arrive, 4 months for the QR2 and the gt dd pro took 5 freakin months. the other three orders not placed near BF time frame arrived in under a week. Strongly recommend not expecting anything you order from say October to March to arrive in a timely manner. April to September orders I’ve never had to wait. I know its crappy a experience but that is what happened. With all that said, my full fanatec set up has been impeccable experience for me all around. I can’t fault any of the gear itself, it’s reliable and has worked perfectly. Roughly 2k hours of sim racing on my setup without issue.
Oddly enough I had the exact opposite experience. My next day shipping order placed during black friday arrived 2 days after I placed it. That does suck you had to wait so long for your order though and not really acceptable at all.
I’ve been waiting for a order I placed on Jan 14th I’ve been waiting ever since, then I get a email after multiple attempts to get answers stating then can’t ship out my order because there’s no qr1 lite in stock until march 21st Therefore they can’t ship it because they’re not shipping out partial orders.
Fanatec, it's time for you to catch up with MOZA. MOZA steering wheels are by far the most beautiful and most memorable. It is not necessary to make 30cm. I think it's time to replace 270mm with 290mm. Also, Maclaren is very old, about 8-9 years old. Most people prefer Esports V2 F1 because it makes no sense to overpay for carbon fiber in which the design has not changed since the days of denosaurs.

Brilliant update and review, Will. It's criminal/incompetent/stupid that Fanatec are ignoring the request for a sit-down interview from probably the most influential and respected authority on simracting hardware. I've both a Fanatec DD Pro LC 8nm and Logitech G Prol. I've no skin in the game, and would like to make it clear that IMO it benefits the industry as a whole if Fanatec turns things around. The new wheels are awesome, but with the last several years of f-ups I'm loathe to have anything to do with them.

Even though these items have been covered by @boostedmedia before, I still wanted to see the video and I'm sure other people wanted to see it too..... This video has the LATEST info regarding any updates to the products (such as no rumble motor in the wheel rim, buttons etc), updates on how the whole Fanatec service issue is going etc.

Jackermeier is probably not interested in answering costumers questions anymore. He did it with one TH-camr and you could see in the video that it was a drag for him to answer them (especially due to the fact that the TH-camr wasn't really being easy on him).
The only take away from the interview was that he regretted... that he lost money during the black friday sales. Not an ounce of regret that their costumers lose faith in the company or are still waiting for their products.
I still hope that you'll get to interview him, Will. It would be interesting to see what he has to say, and I'm sure you'll ask all the right questions yourself.
Hopefully Thomas the Fanatec CEO will agree to be asked all questions and not crossed off any of them.
And he also blamed customers for orders not fulfilled. He doesn't take any responsibility for taking people's money and doesn't give a refund and being notified when an item is back in stock. I was one of those people that got scammed that never received order and never got a refund. Fanatec have lost all credibility with most customers and you can see it by the amount of people selling their fanatec gear online.

I sold all my Fanatec gear due to my customer service issues. Emails went unanswered, orders pushed back a month. Cancelled my pending orders, decided to go with Simagic and have everything within a week. Crazy how I thought waiting months for sim racing gear was normal.

It’s a good wheel, I owned two versions. But it could be made better. Most newer wheels, even cheap ones, at least have RGB LED lighting around the buttons. Look at that new Simagic wheel for example. They don’t have to “reinvent” the wheel, just improve it!😂

When did you place your order and everything was shown as 'in stock'?
Same thing happened to me. I ordered $2K CAD worth of stuff on January 2nd, none of which was back ordered or out of stock. I just received a response last night after numerous attempts, emailed every department I could. The reason they gave me was there was an error in their system which didn't push my order through to the warehouse, so nothing happened from the start of January until now. They acknowledged that none of the items I ordered were back ordered at the time of the order, nor are they at this time. All they offered in compensation was to express ship my order. Overall, not impressed. I'm on console (PS5), so I'm stuck with Fanatec, otherwise I would have cancelled my order after the first month of no response and gone with Asetek or Simagic. You get way more for the price, but they're only PC compatible, unfortunately.

Considering how Fanatec has too few resources to deal with their driver, firmware, support, and logistics issues, I think it would be best to go to literally any other brand, regardless of what you think of their products. I say this after my own personal experience with their logistics and support, or lack thereof.
Personally, I'd rather go after an Asetek setup.
yeah I've read a ton of bad press but then again the price just was too good, compared to other brands, as well as the delivery costs were reasonable compared to the rest. I took the risk and was not dissapointed. The delivery was super fast (ordered on Friday, arrived next Tuesday) all arrived, nothing uncomplete, all working very well, quality of all the goods were top notch.
Bough the CSL DD bundle with basic pedals and wheel just to get my feet wet. But yeah, having in mind bad customer service I'm basically praying now for nothing to go bad :D But all in all I'm super duper satisfied with Fanatec even if others are not, which of course should not be the case.

@@markpharoah1297 Correct. For console, the options are severely limited. Asetek does plan on bringing console support, and even spoke of doing upgrades to the wheelbases when that happens. Unfortunately, nothing has been announced yet.

The shipping problems are extremely disappointing, I bought Moza instead during my step up to direct drive instead. It's crazy how long some people have had to wait
Being honest when I was looking to get my setup going a few months ago I saw all the negative coverage of Fanatec and went the way of Moza and also had shipping issues with them too, to the point where they emailed me saying that despite me paying a premium for shipping costs the bundle (R5) wouldn't be there in the advertised/listed timeframe and if I wanted to get it expedited I had to pay them *another premium* of like $75 to get it shipped from China to the US (still wouldn't have arrived in the timeframe advertised anyway, we were 2 weeks past that at this point).
I sent them a rather honest email stating I was frustrated with the fact I was forced into paying extra for "fast premium shipping" and it was quite tacky of them to not only sell people an item they didn't have rather than listing it as a backorder and telling me upfront there will be an extended wait, but to then say "well we do have the item just overseas and we aren't going to pay the shipping costs to get it to you directly" instead of China -> US Warehouse in CA -> US Warehouse in my state (MI) -> My home.
After that, they sent me a funky email with quite literally nothing but a line of "............." followed by another email stating they had shipped me a bundle directly from China and to expect it in approximately 1-2 weeks.
Giving them credit where it's due, they did eat the cost of shipping to get it to me once I voiced my frustration, but coming into the sim racing space and hearing Fanatec horror stories followed by that slightly bumpy Moza experience spooked me and since I've gone the way of buying used but good quality accessories rather than brand new from manufacturer.

I could never find anything Moza in stock when I was upgrading, and shipping costs were well in excess of 120 USD. Total dealbreaker.
Had the same exact issue pretty much getting my r9. I orderd it and some stuff for it and got evything but my base within like a week. The base was delayed for a while and i sent multiple emails asking where my stuff is and never got a response... only to find out it was deleyd 2 weeks. When the 2 weeks came and went and still no updates i sent another email asking where it is and saying that was frustrated with how they handle there shipping issues. It just showed up randomly at my house like 2 weeks later. Got an email like a week later saying sorry for the no replys and that they are busy lmao. Been a Fanatec DD Pro user since a few years , reading all the issues people are having just acquiring their product I am absolutely shocked. They did fine DURING THE PANDEMIC !!

Why are they still making these wheels WITHOUT clutches.... They are falling behind faster and faster... They have quickly become Thrustmaster, but worse due to Customer service and shipping issues
3:15 Between the order delay issues, the quality control issues, the customer service issues, and insane return/service times I think the best advice at this time is to not buy Fanatec products. I've bought nothing but Fanatec wheels and pedals for almost a decade now but at this point I simply can't recommend them. Especially with how good their competition has become. Hopefully they can get their house back in order soon.
I am selling my fanatec gear, wheels, base, pedals and going to chose a company that listens to customers input and delivers on it by bringing new products to the market. I have had contact with MOZA and it is always been positive with a person on the phone talking to me. Fanatecs only contact is email and they reply with an automated message which in my opinion is unprofessional.

I’m really glad you said you wanna see a new design from fanatec because especially seeing moza’s fsr wheel, and the Porsche 911 rsr wheel, leoxz, and a bunch of other wheels with integrated dashes, like a modern day formula or endurance car, I think that would be really nice to see a product like that. It’s a part of the market that people are trying to fill, but I feel that either it’s been too expensive, or just doesn’t get a lot of representation/ doesn’t have many options

Maybe I am biased as I bought the blue dd1 with the f1 wheel that is open on the bottom, however, I like the open style more.

But what Fanatec is doing with its clients (I have been one of them for more than 10 years and having spent thousands of dollars on their products such as the CSL elite and later the DD2, V3 pedals, handbrake and H shift , steering wheels like the BMW GT2, Porche GT3, Nascar, Sparco Rally etc...)
There is no forgiveness for the customer treatment they are giving... orders delayed for several months, or lost shipments... etc.
The best thing I have done is sell everything from Fanatec and switch to Asetek Invicta!!!

Crazy the release schedule of these DD+ bundles, as you said giving people a choice would be a much better option.
A new resign integrating a screen to a similar size of the DDX bundled wheel should have been developed here as a step towards a full F1 style wheel
They bring out new bundles and they can not fulfil existing orders. Fanatec relies on its name and not new products.

Both of the CS DD+ bundles have been publically known about since investor relation leaks back in November. They are also releasing the Bentley wheel finally soon too.
Sadly it doesn't include the Advanced Podium Module like the DD1 F1 bundle did. I think that would be a great buy.
The magnetic shifters on this wheel is super solid and not loud. I have the 2000 F1 year model and it's still going strong. Had to pay $500 for the wheel back then and only 499 were made.

The 2022 f1 model (ps) came with the three magnetic paddle shifters.
With "new" products like this wheel Fanatec is heading straight down the tubes.
I wanted to upgrade from my Fanatec CSL Elite base and WRC wheel to a direct-drive setup. Rather than continue with Fanatec, I ordered the Simagic Alpha Mini with the GTS wheel which should be arriving soon. Looking forward to the review of that base on this channel too. Hopefully it works out.

People like to complain and fanatec have more wheelbase sold than anyone so thats alot of people to complain. The shipping problem is pretty much solved because now people wish they had time to cancel dd + extreme bundle for the f1 but its already been shipped. With f1 wheel bundle this new DD is at the top of its segment by far. Now if full force end up being just a little bit Okay , people are going to regret the move to chinese companies big time.

Kinda crazy they don't have QR2 equipped wheels available through their line-up. If I where into consoles, I'd hold off until they offered a QR2 version of the X-box compatible rim that you could buy without a useless QR1.

As someone who’s about to pull the trigger on a full blown sim setup, fanatec would need to drop something cool as hell for me to even consider them.

I sent my wheelbase to fanatec to their repair shop in east Anglia i neeced the usb connection fixing, did a first class job got, it back exactly 1 week later the service was great, cant understand why peopli are saying the customer service was bad i had no trouble at all. I think some are just anti fanatec.
I really can't believe Fanatec keeps shipping effectively the same formula wheel with a fresh coat of paint year after year. At the very least modify the thumb encoders to give them more resistance. It really shouldn't take that much more development work to drastically improve one of the core functions of the wheel.
That lets them use unsold wheels, just call it a limited edition. When was the last time fanatec introduced a new wheel that was affordable.

They're continuing to manufacture this same fundamental design without any revision and to me this just feels like they're resting on their laurels. If Fanatec improved the thumb encoders I would consider this wheel. Instead I'm looking at third party options for my next wheel or even leaving Fanatec completely.
I see a lot of people commenting about their fanatec experience so I might as well talk about mine. I got a gt dd pro with the csl wrc wheel with the qr1 lite, and the csl load cell pedals about 2 years ago, and with my old rig setup, I didn’t have a great experience, and had lots of slippage and clunking on my old qr1, and the pedals felt ok, but it was hard to brake consistently because the threshold point felt very vague and inconsistent, but then I decided during Black Friday when I saw the csl elite v2 pedals to go on sale to do an overhaul of my sim racing rig, and I gotta say it was very worth it to me. I upgraded to qr2, got the McLaren v2 wheel, and got the csl elite v2 pedals, and got a new seat for my rig and it’s been a much better experience. The new pedals feel so much better, and the new qr has no clunking, no flex, and the ff is much better as well. Been playing a lot of gran turismo 7 and assets corsa and having been enjoying it a ton. Also got their shifter as well and that’s been pretty good too. But now let me talk about shipping and wait times(posted in reply’s)
So my 1st order originally when I got is like 2 years ago I think I had to wait like a month or like 3 weeks, so it wasn’t terrible, but when I did my Black Friday order, I had to wait more like 2 months, which I wasn’t a huge fan about, and isn’t great, but I feel like at the end of the day it was worth it for me, especially because it seems to be one of the best ps5 setups you can get right now.(I love playing gt7) But also during Black Friday, I ordered a v2.5x because they had a good price on it, and I wanted a smaller wheel with a ton of inputs on it, and apparently they oversold it, and I would of had to wait till February to get it, but they gave me a 25% off my entire order if I canceled, so I ended up taking that, and placing a new order for a dd+, csl hub with the round 320, and the formula v2.5, with that 25% off which gave me a massive discount, and I was quite happy with that, except I’m still waiting for that order, which I placed I would say maybe late November early December. They say it’s going to ship late March, but from my experiences it’s probably going to be here sometime in April, bc shipping using takes a week or 2 as well. I think this wait time has been quite unacceptable, and I am not happy about it, but I can’t cancel either or I will lose that 25% discount I got. The only reason that I’m ok waiting is bc I have gear to hold me over, but I can see for a lot of people that dont have stuff to hold them over, waiting this long is completely unacceptable. Also I was very upset when I heard the dd extreme wheel would not be sold separately because I love playing gran turismo, and that wheel would be perfect for my needs, but I already have my order in for a dd+, and like I said earlier I can’t cancel because I would lose that discount.
I guess I’ll also add that I haven’t had any hardware issues, and besides clunky software installation and upgrades, my user experience has been really good, and I haven’t needed to contact support for pretty much anything. Everything has worked well, and nothing has been glitchy or stopped working on me.

When I switched from the TGT-II to the DD Pro I was very disappointed, because the TGT-II offered much more details, and it was more fun 🤷🏼
Great channel, love drag racing and formula 1 and now with wheels and pedals we can live out our dreams a little …. I would suggest that since you may have influence, tell Fanatec to honor the bundle price for anyone that has a DD+ receipt or whatever …. many ways to take care of customers and still drive sales up
I ordered the DD+ Extreme package the same day they launched it, and it arrived at my house in 10 days. I am delighted with the product, the DD base is excellent, the steering wheel is a little plastic, but honestly with the magnetic paddles, clutch, screen and LEDs, I think it is a good price for €300. Someone tell me a steering wheel with those characteristics for that price, it doesn't exist. I have it with a metal QR2 that I had from another steering wheel and it works perfectly. I come from the DD Pro, and although the base DD+ is incredible, the truth is that the DD Pro is also sensational, and it is not necessary to update, especially if you play at around 6nm, because the changes to that strength are very subtle compared to the DD+. Finally, to say that the fact that Fanatec does not launch a Formula type steering wheel with a TFT screen is ridiculous.

DD pro 8Nm upgraded to qr2 slide i got for €19.99 on BF sale is decent upgrade for me . The feeling & easy to make corrections is noticeable. It’s what I imagine the dd+ is with more Nm power that you don’t need

The clubsport formula at 270mm ads by itself the equivalent of two to three NM to the wheel base vs running a 300mm wheel. It’s amazing. I run a CSL DD at 8 NM and am holding of upgrading just because I’m running this wheel.
Looking to purchase either the Fanatec ClubSport Racing Wheel F1® DD+ Bundle with the V3 pedals or the Logitech G Pro bundle. Which do you think would be the better option?
I'm also hearing that most new orders are being shipped out reasonably quick as of 3/7/24. There's still some issues with old orders and customer service but at this time I'm fairly confident that if you place a new order now it should come relatively quick. Also we're still waiting for the exhaust update video!
The exhaust video will be a while yet. The valve is rattling badly and we’re waiting for a replacement spring. They’ve apparently changed the design slightly which should resolve it.

Companies will probably never announce products when availability is way out in the future since it would (1) set an expectation that they might not be able to deliver on (2) tip off competitors and remove competitive advantage and (3) it would probably hurt existing sales of available products while customers wait for the future one. I agree that it is upsetting to customers to buy a product and a better more suitable less expensive similar offering comes soon after the original purchase. But I doubt product companies will change their behavior since it could be very disadvantageous to them.
My mates fanatec has gone back for repairs. Apparently it' has common problems. Huming noise etc
I am thinking about purchasing this ($1300 USD) bundle but also think purchasing the DD+ with the FORMULA V2.5X maybe makes more sense. Even though I am an exclusive Playstation user at the moment.
For an extra $150 ( $1450 USD) it seems I can have the XBOX/Playstation compatibility in case I ever purchase an XBOX system in the future. Maybe it would even help future resell value thanks to the double compatibility

Hey Will, as someone looking to upgrade from the Moza R5 to a 9-12nm wheelbase, would you suggest this Fanatec bundle with the CSL Elite V2 pedals or the Asetek Prima bundle? (I drive a bit of everything on mostly PC)

I have zero complaints about Fanatec customer service and availability. I ordered the DD+, McLaren wheel, Round Clubsport wheel, and the F1 v2.5, about 10 days ago. They have shipped and are due to arrive, tomorrow. I am alittle frustrated that I could have saved $125 or so, on this bundle, but with my button cap accessaries pack, I should be able to dress up the wheel to be almost the same.
10 days, are you kidding? I ordered a shit ton of Simucube/Heusikveld/Ascher gear and everything arrived the next day - and this was from a dealer outside of my country.
Another bundle and im still waiting on my original preorder. Meanwhile people are receiving these new bundle befor the original preorder unacceptable!
My word of the years: delayed gratification. I own the DD Pro and wanted to upgrade to the DD+, but after the BF fiasco, I realized it was better to be happy with the equipment I already have AND equipment that has years of use in the world which means its mostly stable. I had no trust Fanatec would release something this new along with being so backed up from BF that this would be a smooth customer experience for a while. I have no idea if I will even trust them again to make a purchase in the future and most likely will find another DD company to move to when that time comes. Until then, I’ll enjoy the equipment I have.
Unless true force can really make me sense wheel spin and lockups I'd be sad to lose the vibration. It doesn't need fidelity for my usecase, and the response time isn't great but it's good enough that I can catch lockups and wheel spin quicker than I could visually or with just the wheel base FFB.
I bought a lot of fanatec products week ago in monday, the whole package shipped yesterday (wensday) i think the shipping in fanatec is pretty good at least for me i was worried about other peapole expierience with fanatec but with me it was allright
If you manage to find cheap second - hand options of Fanatec -> get it, its still great. however i think the driver updates for older bases are non - existent. Even podium 1 does not get any for more than a year i think. otherwise for PS5 i would consider to use something else + adapter, or Logitech DD (even if its more expensive).
I'm thinking of going with a full Simagic Ecosystem for my rig..... these issues with Fanatec are beyond a joke!!!! if I do, I'm thinking I will get a 15nm Alpha, GT1-R Wheel with GT Pro Hub, P1000's with Hydraulic Brake or just go straight to P2000's (only a $200AUD difference), Gear Shifter and the cheaper Handbrake (as this is going to cost a TONNE of money already LOL)
The DD+ was shown as available Feb28, so my order didn't leave until March 1st

Don't hold your breath. You can buy the MOZA F1 wheel and their adapter that works with any brand of equipment.
Quality review. I came here because I heard that they had removed the vibration motors, and I kinda doubted that. But hearing that you actually tested the motors in the control panel and there was no response, I guess that means it's true. Also without the motor cut out in the carbon fiber frame, in addition to the bottom carbon fiber vs Limited F1 wheels, I bet this wheel is so much stiffer. Would you be able to throw it on the scale and give us the weight with that QR2 attached? Thanks,

You can get a MOZA GT3 wheel and an adapter so it will work on any brand. At least with MOZA you are not locked into their eco system unlike fanatec.

I have been using the CSL DD pro for 3 years now and looking for less of that kind of roughness the wheel has and upgrading to something smoother and more detailed. But I can’t decide on Asetek Forte or DD+. Any suggestion?
Hey there, love your videos, they are really detailed and clear. Anyways I have a quick question. I'm looking into getting the Clubsport DD wheelbase but I will be using it on the next level racing GT lite pro rig. I was wondering if the CS DD is too powerful for the rig despite them saying you can use a DD wheelbase up to 13 Nw on it. Would the CS DD be okay or should I look at the likes of Moza R12 or perhaps even a CSL DD Pro? Many thanks :)
My personal experience ordering from Fanatec is quite a positive one when it comes to shipping time. Ordered gt dd pro bundle with boost kit and load cell pedal and it was shipped next morning and would have been delivered in 3 days if I had not filled the address incorrectly. Since they ship via UPS I just called local customer support, got the address corrected and goods arrived the next working day. I have to say I was worried but it ended up being faster than 4-7 days they state on the website. I am living in the EU.
I really want to buy this but am worried with all the bricking issues.

Fanatecs American office is in the most expensive area on the planet. They waste ungodly amounts of money that could be spent improving their business. They absolutely do not need to be on Wilshire blvd in Beverly Hills. It's a giant red flag as they could be in the dessert 50 miles away for 25% of the rent they are currently paying. It's keeping them from hiring warehouse and customer service employees.

I used to live in LA and I can promise you that you don't know how expensive that place is until you go somewhere else. I own a house in the Midwest that cost $115k. I really hope that they make a new formula wheel with an actual screen, not that even williams have the screen on the wheel it self. Like even a small 3 inch screen would do. It's lame that they are basically selling the same wheel with different faceplates for ages

As I said in the video it’s impossible to really say for now until we can try an actual integration of Fullforce in a game.
I’ve placed five orders with fanatec over the past 3 years. The two Black Friday orders took forever to arrive, 4 months for the QR2 and the gt dd pro took 5 freakin months. the other three orders not placed near BF time frame arrived in under a week. Strongly recommend not expecting anything you order from say October to March to arrive in a timely manner. April to September orders I’ve never had to wait. I know its crappy a experience but that is what happened.
With all that said, my full fanatec set up has been impeccable experience for me all around. I can’t fault any of the gear itself, it’s reliable and has worked perfectly. Roughly 2k hours of sim racing on my setup without issue.
Oddly enough I had the exact opposite experience. My next day shipping order placed during black friday arrived 2 days after I placed it. That does suck you had to wait so long for your order though and not really acceptable at all.

I’ve been waiting for a order I placed on Jan 14th I’ve been waiting ever since, then I get a email after multiple attempts to get answers stating then can’t ship out my order because there’s no qr1 lite in stock until march 21st Therefore they can’t ship it because they’re not shipping out partial orders.

Fanatec, it's time for you to catch up with MOZA. MOZA steering wheels are by far the most beautiful and most memorable. It is not necessary to make 30cm. I think it's time to replace 270mm with 290mm. Also, Maclaren is very old, about 8-9 years old. Most people prefer Esports V2 F1 because it makes no sense to overpay for carbon fiber in which the design has not changed since the days of denosaurs.

Brilliant update and review, Will. It's criminal/incompetent/stupid that Fanatec are ignoring the request for a sit-down interview from probably the most influential and respected authority on simracting hardware.
I've both a Fanatec DD Pro LC 8nm and Logitech G Prol. I've no skin in the game, and would like to make it clear that IMO it benefits the industry as a whole if Fanatec turns things around.
The new wheels are awesome, but with the last several years of f-ups I'm loathe to have anything to do with them.
