Thanks for your review of the Cambridge Pitt Minion Bible. I purchased my first Pitt Minion in June 1963 while training with the Navy just south of Waukegan. Over the next couple of years that bible travelled with me south to Texas, then to the west coast. I flew to Guam by way of San Francisco, on to Honolulu, and Wake Island. After boarding my ship in Guam we patrolled the Marianas Islands including Saipan and Tinian. Later we passed Iwo Jima in the Bonin Islands and on to Japan. My next trip out of Guam took me to the Caroline Islands with main stops in Palau and Truk but there were numerous islands in the chain we visited. The following year we sailed to Sydney, Australia by way of Rabaul New Britain and the Solomon, Islands. From Sydney we cruised past Fiji Islands, Tonga Islands and on to Pago Pago Samoa. From Samoa we returned to Hawaii and received orders to Vietnam. After all those travels and more My KJV Pitt Minion remains in excellent condition. Last year I purchased another Pitt Minion in the NKJV translation.
Just wanted to give you a shout out. My old cheap travel bible finally gave up the ghost and I pulled the trigger on the Black pitt minion NASB to replace it. Im in love. Its nearly as fantastic as my schuyler I got last year. Both amazing bibles. I hope I get many years of use out of my Pitt Minion. I also wanted to say I just got your book in today and its starts getting read next week. Keep up the great videos they have been a blessing.
I love my brown goatskin NKJV to compliment my black goatskin KJV. KJV gets more use from me since I’m primarily a KJV guy. But I love the touch of the NKJV more.
I realize this is an old video, but I have a few thoughts. The Pitt Minion is easy to read, and I have bifocals. The print is 6.75. However, both Cambridge and Nelson use a system called Comfort Print. It was invented by a man in Sweden. It optimizes the font and the spacing for maximum reading visibility. Another hint I have is to change the light bulb in your reading lamp. Craft stores sell an Ott Light for around $15. This is a bulb that just screws in your lamp. It’s designed for better visibility for fine cross stitch work or knitting with dark colors at night. It makes a world of difference with Bible reading.
Have to agree. I love my Cambridge bibles, but my schuylers are the easiest to read and the most nice feeling goatskin. Matthew, please try and review a Schuyler. I'm just hoping they decide to make a wide margin.
I have the schuyler and the Pitt Minion both in goatskin. They are both incredible bibles. I think the schuyler goatskin is a bit softer and more supple right out of the box but its also bigger so has more weight to help it act floppy. I got the Pitt Minion to replace my church/travel bible and my schuyler is my at home reading bible which it is great for.
I have both. A schuyler PSQ, I take it with me at times, but usually read it at home. I have a Pitt Minion that I REALLY like to leave the house with, plus it's much easier to read one handed, smaller, and weighs a lot less. I can read it one handed for long periods at a time. You probably decided after 2 years, but I'll just leave this here for anyone else who might be curious also. But the PSQ is the better quality of the 2, but Pitt Minion is MUCH better for carrying around and travelling. You can use the PSQ as a travel bible NO problem, but the Pitt minion is just a better option for that.
Not totally brand loyal with Cambridge. I like the Jongbloed versions but they are still not as nice as when these Bibles were printed in Cambridge. The old print works are now a housing estate.
Cambridge are resting on their laurels. I have this in black. The ribbons are garbage - threaded. The ‘red’ under gold is pathetic. It is not even pink - more like a dirty snow colour. No it’s not the best NOT by a long shot. The best hand sized period is the Allan Clarendon - Blue Goatskin, CALF SKIN LINER, EDGE LINED, HAND APPLIED ART GILT and an cyclopedic concordance Why are you saying all these falsehoods?

It actually does refer to the critical text quite often, especially in the NT. Not totally a TR Bible

I am torn between Schuyler and Cambridge as my 1 and 2. I have a Concord WM and I have a KJV Goatskin Pitt Minion that I carry with me everywhere

I agree with you on Cambridge. RL Allan and Schuyler are just production Luxury Bibles, nevertheless great! Custom is top!
