These soil moister sensors tell me in real time when I actually need to water my lawn. Gotta be honest...I am blown away but the things Home Assistant can do.

To make my ZigBee network super strong I replaced every power socket in the house with ZigBee ones. Voila, no more network range or strength issues 😂 A bit extreme maybe but everything just works now.
Also, Home Assistant is such a massive black hole of time, but so much fun to mess around with!

Can do you a video on what you used to control your watering (zones)? I have three zones myself, and can't find anything I can integrate with HA/Homey.

Can you show us how you setup your cards/custom templates. my HA looks so basic.

    Fantastic! But... pricey?
How accurate are the cheap Bluetooth sensors compared to this? Are they all capacitative?

Great video as always! Anyone know if you can add computer specs to HA like CPU, memory and storage?

My zigbee sensors will work for weeks and then suddenly become unavailable and I have to re-pair to get them to work again. Super inconvenient for door sensors or anything that is hard to reach, one of the devices that does this sits just 6 feet from my zigbee router, does anyone have any suggestions?

for the devices not showing battery levels, i have run into this for some of my zigbee devices, simply removing the device from the zigbee add-on in HA and pairing it back up again makes it pair up properly and show the battery levels.

I prefer Zwave Plus over ZigBee. ZigBee uses 2.4ghz "free" fcc bands and is full of traffic and noise. Where Zwave is a proprietary band and each device is a repeater. I have about 62 Zwave devices in my network and about 25 ZigBee. ZigBee I found putting the dongle on a 3 foot USB extention to keep away from noise from my server. But still have random Zwave drops and come back a day or so later. Lots of cool stuff on ZigBee tho.

FYI on Zigbee each AC powered unit is also a repeater by default.

Put your bagged sensor higher than the plug so water runs out it not into it. Of course this is a temporary solution and you'll be changing it right?..right?

I use Zigbee and home assistant to control all the lights, TVs and Air Conditioning in my house. (TVs are using Wifi not zigbee, but you get it)
It's great. Also did you know that IKEA sells zigbee stuff for pretty cheap under the "Tradfri" brand?

For the Unavailable part of the sensor. This person made a pretty slick way to have it always show something. th-cam.com/video/Wj-HQ_0qkiE/w-d-xo.html
