So you need to be on the same network which in this case is the same wifi to be able to access it

Thank you for the comment, after setting up the camera on the MI Home app, you can access the camera through the app from everywhere and with every network connection.

@@LevinsReview So this means: While using the app from a network that is different from the one that camera is installed... the app is NOT actually accesing the camera directly through my home network perimeter (router/modem)... but rather the app accesses a global internet cache for my camera. Am I right?

Same here. Can connect to the same home wifi network with zero issues. However, when away from home, cannot connect via mobile data (it runs to 91% and then pause for a long time and then stops, won't connect). I've tried resetting, uninstalling and reinstalling, even changing the server to Mainland China and this mobile data problem is still there. I can only conclude this device is a piece of trash.

After full setup. I cannot monitor camera from my mobile data... I can only control with the same wifi which cctv camera is connected

I get you it happened to a while ago.
You can easily solve it.
Unpair the camera from the Mi Home App
Uninstall the Mi Home App
Reinstall the Mi Home App
Select server location to be Mainland China.
Pair the camera (manually or through Bluetooth) in the Mi Home App.
Now it should work after connect to your mobile data it can lag in connection but it's depends on the quality of the mobile data connection.

My phone and the camera have to be on the same wifi otherwise I cannot watch the camera.

How do you access it from anywhere?
After setting up the camera as i showed in the video you should access the camera from any network your phone connects to. Do yiu have trouble to accessing the camera from your mobile network?
The content of your video is just to connect the camera to the phone and wifi. Its not telling how to connect if you are outside the house.
@Nikki Margaja I understand, its seemed to me obvious. So I didn't explained it.
But once you connect the camera app to me home app, you connect to the camera and access the recordings where ever you are.
I don't do something unique or different other than what I showed in this video.

And my phone will be connected to data only if im outside the house. Can i still see the recordings? Pls teach step by step
