It will record to an SD Card without a subscription but you lose all the advanced features and you end up with a basic security camera that...beeps! Mine has been recording to an SD card (no Wifi) for about a week. Hopes it keeps going. But the Camera, while not a scam, is a subscription-hook imo.

I have a indoor Blink camera that I aim through glass window to my drive way. It will detect anyone walking down my drive and record and send alert to my mob.
I often forget to turn it off before I either drive in the drive or walk in the drive .And I get a loud alert sound on my mob telling me its just videoed me and alerted me. I think they are now about £20

This video is like a paid promotion. It lacks very important information such as the cost of subscription services, and that the terms of service say the company can keep all of your data! I wonder where this camera is made? China? Apparently it ships from Idaho; I read that in an ad… That does NOT mean it is made in the USA. As a reviewer, it would be good to know your user experience.… Not that it is just a “must have”.
How can it keep your data if you save to your SD card? I have several of these and don’t pay for any service. Just use my SF cards. Had them for a long time without any issue.

@@dianacordova2758 It's charged with the electricity that runs through the light socket. Yes you must have "the light on".
