  • Today will be a wrap up for 2023 and we will find out which are the Best Security Cameras of 2023 going on to 2024. These are the security cameras that I have tested from Eufy, Reolink, Tapo, Wyze and Ring. Other brands like Arlo, Nest, Blink and also Ring haven't really released anything good this year.

Definitely the most honest reviews related to security cameras here. One thing I notice with people who break into my home is they tend to always be moving quite fast. Maybe in your backyard motion tests and look at resolution results move around far more quickly. The thieves seem to know if they are moving quick these security cameras can struggle in a number of ways.

    • @carlossilva3122
      @carlossilva3122 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

You should have motion activated lights to complement the camera. They work both as a deterrant and support for the camera. Either way - These people will be covered. The camera only notifies you of a break-in. Statistically you should be more concerned about the camera placament, to make sure its not stolen or vandalized that its ability to detect people moving slowly. The tapo at least, can see way beyond what a person can :)

@@carlossilva3122 I've shown video on TH-cam of thieves coming in against multiple security lights coming on and they don't even flinch. In fact once the lights come on they can see what to steal. I honestly think security lights aid the thieves.

@@LifeHacksterHello, thanks for the video… I got a security camera and a doorbell installed through my Phone/Internet company but the problem I have is that my cellphone does not ring when someone rings the doorbell.
The other problem I have is if I’m at work and the security camera catches someone sometimes I don’t get notified right away.
The 3rd problem I have is I can’t go back and see any recordings of anything.
To me that’s the whole point of having a security camera so if something happens you can go back and have video recorded evidence.
Do the Eufy cameras allow you to go back anytime and grab any footage you want for video evidence of say a break in or property theft etc?

So true that no single system is best in all things. It really depends on each unique situation. I started with the Ring doorbell and always had issues with it so I didn't go into that ecosystem. I replaced it with the Eufy wired doorbell and was impressed enough that now I have 10 eufy units. Not perfect but plenty good enough for what I need. Thanks for all the info.

Thank you for another great wrap-up review. My go-to setup is still Eufy. I've had the best luck with them and very minor issues. I saw that they recently released a siren and the price doesn't seem too bad. I want to see a review of it before I decide to add it my system, though. I mainly want to see just how loud it really is. The HB3 alarm combined with 5 outdoors cams with alarms isn't loud unless you're within 10ft of my house. My car alarm can easily drown out Eufy's alarms on full volume. Even one smoke detector alarm is louder than Eufy. So I'm hoping Eufy's siren decibels are close to what my smoke detectors are. Will you be doing a review of Eufy's siren anytime soon?

Thanks for the great video. I think it is a good idea to put a reaction time in your video as well. from the time you appear and how long it takes for the camera to notify you, I think the whole reason for having security camera is knowing when someone appears and how long is the notification time, I have Eufy S330 and the reaction time is around 10 sec, if I have a home invasion by the time I get the notification I will be dead.

Please watch my individual reviews of these cameras. I have been doing the notification testing on all my reviews ever since I started reviewing Nest cameras years ago. Also, I have mentioned this before..battery powered cameras will have longer notification time than wired/plug in options of the same brand. Like wired cameras of eufy will have faster notifications than their battery powered ones.

I got the ring infrastructure, alarm, door locks, cams. I am a bit disappointed with ring. Seems like they stopped on their r&d. I’d like to see ring make a ptz cam similar to the Eufy s340. As they currently don’t. It means I have to now buy another piece of infrastructure to add to it. Ring could also integrate other manufacturers cams into their system.

Mr. Hackster: Help.. I have wildlife around my home 24/7, but want an outdoor camera security system. Also, just as important, they will be mounted very high up on my home. Question: Which one would you suggest? (no having a subscription is somewhat important),. and how do I RESET the system when it is so high up ?? Lastly, you have a beautiful and well kept home.... love the flag!

I was looking at the Eufe s340. In front of my house there's a lot of high traffic so I need a hard drive that can hold a lot of footage. I didn't necessarily want to buy another hard drive that I have to expand, but apparently that's what I have to do with it. 8/16 gigs is practically nothing. I'd be okay even if I could stick a 128 gig card in there, but apparently I can't. So what makes up for in size, it loses in storage 🤔

Maybe you can suggest the best 4 k camera to have feed it's live footage to a 55 inch 4k tv. I already have another system as my security set up, good enough to identify thieves, but not 4k. I am looking to add a digital window to a building that has no windows. So I am thinking of a 4 k camera that maybe has the ability to have a HDMI cable to link it to a tv?

Do you know of any doorbell cameras with voip call support besides Wyze?
When the doorbell is pressed it calls your phone using voip and you can have a two way conversation with the person at the door.

Nice video! Would you recommend the S210 Outdoor Cam Pro from Eufy? It's a wired one. You have a video on it. Is it still a viable option in 2024? It stood out to me because there is NO subscription required at all. Thanks in advance and take care.

@LifeHackster, Eufy S330 are you having any problems with motion? Camera fails to detect motion further than 5ft away, and I've tried different FOV. Eufy have not been able to provide any solutions.

Is it easy to take battery operated door bells? They look easy to take. I had people take my ring cameras, so I am a bit leery with something that is more ground level. They are not cheap either.

what camera would you recommend to capture ufos in the sky on a sdcard? the wyze cam is cheap and will record planes going by but it is not very clear. florida real ufos is using a hunting scope to capture ufos at night. i like sport mode in samsung phones because it can capture clear fast shots.

Make sure that you cover each camera with at least one other camera. If people can see that they need to stand in front of another camera to tamper with one it could keep them form messing with any of your cameras. I also like to video every car and person passing by, just in case.

Hi I am after a intercom system, it does not need video as it is for a launch. Ideally with a 5V power supply or a battery system. I want to be able to communticate with the person down stairs in the boat. It would be good if it was hands free. You have an amazing amount of knowledge and I thought I would reach out to you. Thank you for your time. Martin (Kiwi)

Wyze, TP Link's Tapo or Eufy at this point. Local storage and 24/7 recording can make all the difference. At most you will have to route a USB cable over to the cameras. Wyze still locks some features away w/o a sub.
