When we use to do scrap, I remember this $200 60s ford dump truck we bought for scrap at the state auction, had a chevy big block in it, it was stuck from sitting, we drug that thing around the block 3 times jamming it gear and it unlocked it, it ran after that and idled, I was shocked, and even the dump bed worked. It was fun and unexpected to get a near driving dump truck that sat for who knows how long lol.
I love your videos man. Miss working on diesels and tractors. You guys help feed That void in my life lol and where in the heck do you guys come up with these ideas lol God bless y’all
@@HamiltonvilleFarm I love watching your videos but did you give any thought to the fact that the impact was turning the motor the wrong way to start it unless that motor will run counter clockwise ?
Man this is my favorite channel I look forward to every video! I'm 53 and you awesome guys are inspiring me to get out there and have some fun too! I don't mean to call you guys old or anything....haha I just love how you're showing if there's something you want to do don't let age stop you and life's short so make sure you're having some fun, smiling, and enjoying life. Thanks for all the fun Hank and Wiley! Keep it up!
I love it Hank when you Guy's do stuff like this, you Guy's are good people, I could have a lot of fun working with you Guy's! You Guy's are the best! Thank you again for a all some video. I know I told you before, you Guy's are some smart cookies. Love every video!!!
I tried to start my 8 HP snowblower engine with a 120V electric 1/2" drive impact wrench with the same outcome as you. However, the flywheel nut will never come loose!
just today......... Started a 91 kodiak with no starter installed by jacking up the rear end Spinning the rear tires by hand Dumped the clutch in 5th gear and it fired up.
Hank I think if you had the transmission in low it would turn over. Years ago I had a old Ford truck that the pressure plate failed and i drove it to the shop but in order to get it started I putthe transmission in 1st and used the starter to get it running and speed shift it .
You 2 are a pair that beats a Full House !! lol That startup !- necessity may be the Mother of Invention - but desperation is the "Deddy " !! Sho' nuff.
You two are mad Hank Whilley the engine crazy men well it start if it ugly of course never miss a video thank you for sharing and your time was really great loved it.
Yeah thats a bad idea. All it will do it strip out the nut or the shaft. I did it on a 8hp tecumseh and it snapped the shaft off. You can use a drill if its strong enough.
You need a whopping powerful drill to turn a diesel over. Most diesel starters are in the 4 to 8 kW range. and accu's of at least 150 Ah needed to turn a heavy diesel over. Also you made it harder as a direct drive on the drive axle. Great video and fun anyway.
Excellent video Hank :) & Wiley :) wheels got more turn ratio then impact wrenchs and that why use clutch pedal with key on plus Manual transmission also hill so get up 15 + or more MPH speeds to do bump starting!

Guys this was a great video ! I sure did a lot of laughing, and you guys were having fun . So keep the videos coming our way and you guys keep on finding more old equipment to start . While joking and laughing, trying to crank it over . As always, Jeffrey !!!
What if you just simply wrapped a rope around the driveshaft a bunch a times like on a push mower when the recoil start breaks, hook it to your pickup and take off? Now I see lots of reasons it won’t work but there’s a chance it would. Plus I’ve never seen it tried, just use cheaper rope so it’ll just break if something goes awry.
you need a relay solenoid for that genny. you could buy a pull start cover for 13hp Honda, just incase solenoid died , humm lol. Its a 3 bolt swap.. would make a good video..
Another great video Hank keep up the good work I wish we had all that old stuff out here in Northern Ireland also you guys have good crack always joking around 😂😂

Like that tool box ladder. I bet that comes in handy. You should do a small video on that.
Right on. It’s definitely handy. Thanks for watching!

Good Hank. You are keeping it interesting.
LOL> thanks much!
I remember my Dad started our Model A Ford by jacking it up and spinning the rear wheel when the battery was bad, ( Back about 1943-44 ).
No clue why these videos are so satisfying to watch. But here I am watching another one 😂. Keep ‘em coming guys!
Appreciate it

right on!
rig up a gas lawnmower engine through some sort of drive system on the back of that transmission to start it... that might be fun to watch.
Not a bad idea! Lol
Thanks Hank ❤️✌️ from the 🇬🇧
❤️ for old Wiley
Cheers
Never give up it had to start in the end great stuff.
Thanks much

I appreciate it Phillip!
Love the disclaimer on not being a real mechanic. Another great video Hank. Glad you have good supervision / help! Keep posting Brother!
Thanks Scott. Started putting that on there bc I think people thought I thought I was a mechanic 😂
That's the 1st for me seeing someone use A-pole rope to start a vehicle That took some imagination And it worked way to go
👍
I knew the impact wouldn't happen,
However the strap around the duels was great , I never thought about that. Dangerous a bunch of wat iffs.
Another great "farmer fix" video. Love it!
Right on. I appreciate you watching
A impact won't spin stuff fast at all. It needs to be a strong electric motor. But to get it to start spinning is the question!
Gear reduction like the starters have
I hear ya
You guys are crazy. I could work with you all day. Love your thought process 😂
Right! Love these guys!
Thanks Mick. I appreciate that.
Great job guys getting it started
Thank you Scott!

Hey. Dropping a Ford Ranger from a high lift pulling a strap to "ROPE" start it sounded crazy ......but it worked.😄
That’s right! Lol.
I thought I'd seen everything, love watching you guys start all that old equipment, how about that Chevrolet it come through for yah.
Right on!
You never know till you Try Always fun thanks for the videos
Thanks for watching!

RIght on...hope you heal fast. Thank you for watching
My husband also started a gmc cabover detroit detisel with brute force and either 2:48
That impact wrench ooh lol 😆
The crazy ideas you and Wiley come up with lol, awesome stuff!
lol thanks!
I tell ya what though . That yoke nut is surely on there now if it wasn't before 😆
Lol, yep
Hii good morning, love very much your video some time very funny you two are perfect partner. Good job god bless you friends👍👍🌟
Poor old Wiley he has to be the brains of the operation lol
Yep.
Richard in "Old Farm Junk 101" has made a shaft that goes from a tractor power take-off to the engine that needs to be turned over.
Interesting
Wallie is hilarious 🤣 he said size 36 pants 👖
the rotation to keep from unscrewing the nut, would need to have the transmission in reverse to start the engine. that would take a lot of torque.
Interesting
The impact part will not turn it! It just jolts it. You need a strong drill type to turn it
Yeah we figured that out. I didn’t realize that until we actually tried it. It was fun to try. Thanks for watching!
You guys are great....keep it up
Thank you so much 😀

Geez that's what starters are for
Love watching you guys. Great comrades
Thanks for watching!
I think they were turning the engine in the wrong direction with the impacts.
It's a good laugh though👍
Some years ago we had air start R model Macks at work. Thought you where going to be in with a chance with the Inch drive.
I think a regular type drill vs an impact might have worked.
Love crazy ideas Hank
Me too! Thanks for watching.
Boa noite muito top esse serviço caminhão meu amigo

Will it start air compressor 👍👋😂🤠
Lol .. doggone thing didn’t want to

We lost a fertilizer plant here in NC a week ago today
Oh no!
That's a small inch and 5/16 nut and the fly wheel is way bigger around.
use yellow flat rope n roll it around driveshaft (like u did at end of video on wheels)
👍👍
Wow just wow...
Thanks for watching
You guys are awesome thanks for the awesome video thanks again
Thanks for watching Keith. I appreciate it
you need a relay solenoid for that genny. you could buy a pull start cover for 13hp Honda, just incase solenoid died , humm lol. Its a 3 bolt swap.. would make a good video..

And make sure that you keep a Wally with you because with Wally the videos would not be the same😁
Lol. He’s a cool cat
@@HamiltonvilleFarm you are a Cool Cat 2
Wonder it will work or not
If that axle had a crush sleeve the pre load is probably a little tight now on the pinion bearing Lolol
I bet I have one of those sockets in my truck
Right on !
Be sure to have the impact in 3 that is the strongest mode. 1 is weakest.
👍👍
Another great video Hank keep up the good work I wish we had all that old stuff out here in Northern Ireland also you guys have good crack always joking around 😂😂
Lll. Thanks! We appreciate it
Elvis was by the half-inch drive impact gun
right on
