    I was about ready to settle for a Moza R12 hub and KS wheel when I got an email from MicroCenter about the TK Formula Wheel and hub. I saved $400 and got a better DD wheel. I didn’t realize I was getting the Forte wheel which was the cherry on top. Love my TK wheel and hub. For me,it was by far the best value in the mid-range. I couldn’t be happier.

    The usb-c hub in rear of wheelbase is a killer feature, pedals, shifters, handbrakes and other accessories can all be connected to wheelbase.
    Even the normal La Prima wheelbase doesn't have that feature.

    Newton meter (Nm) is for torque. Nanometer (nm) is used in measuring distance. They're not the same.

    • @RedlineSimRacing
      @RedlineSimRacing  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, not sure what I said nanometer. Knew it was Newton from using torque wrench's almost weekly.

    I can actually hear the rumbling coming out of the base. Also do you have a little coil whine when turning heavy?
    Also don't you love that center torque feeling? It makes you feel sttatched to the car. That weight helps so much telling us the limit of grip because that torque stays strong until the tires give a little bit. This is also why I like more powerful wheels! I feel more connected and I feel like I am throwing a car around. People go oh that much torque isn't realistic. No it's not meant to be. A real car doesn't feel like ffb does but us as sim racers need that power and that detail because that's how sim racers get the information needed! When I went to a 12 to 15nm dd wheel I realized why drivers like more torque even if you set it lower the power from the motor is still there and the details pop off more. But you want that center force feel it allows you to be more precise with every movement and allows you to feel every slight give in the wheel like tires slipping or when you are getting understeer etc. It also I swear helps you not get understeer often. I feel like im turning less now and getting more cornering out of the car.

    If I'm not mistaken when I was looking the other day you can still get the bundle discount if you put all three items in your cart at the same time while they are in stock

    Great review and I completely agree with your assessment. A better deal cannot be had. I came from belt-driven as well and it is quite surprising how much more detail is felt. I've already upgraded the pedals, brake to hydraulic and heavy spring on the throttle. An even bigger difference and improvement in throttle and brake control and still saved around $250 than buying the Invictas outright. I noticed a recent price drop on all products at Asetek so the savings wouldn't be as large but you would still save around $130 buying the TK pedals then upgrading them, but I digress. Anyway, keep up the good work!

      I haven't seen them anywhere else, unfortunately. It's weird that microcenter is the only place to carry the TK edition items. I have some a moza shiter and handbrake showing up in a couple weeks. Super excited to try those. I will be buying the Asetek Throttle spring sometime soon, but the sim budget is running low. :)

    The steering wheel price is ridiculous! $200 for nearly a Forte steering wheel. I think Microcenter subsidized the prices of this TK Racing La-Forte kit. I was set on getting a LaPrima bundle, but now I'm sold on the TK Racing bundle. Good stuff!

    Curious what you are upgrading from, which makes a difference on your impression and how impressed you are.. logitech belt driven ffb? Different direct drive?
    Edit: Nvm.. you address it later. Coming from belt driven. Also, note it's newton meters, not nano meters.

    • @RedlineSimRacing
      @RedlineSimRacing  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the correction. I don't know why I always mix that up. I usually work in newton meters on my torque wrenches when working on my cars, and I still always say Nano.
      I do have a friend who has been on a Fanatec DD 8NM. I asked him to loan it to me for comparison. There are already extensive comparisons on youtube. However, and I fully understand there is a price different between the ready to race 8NM Fanatec package and the TK package, but the 12NM and the extra detail, and a bit more raw road feel, plus better pedals, makes the extra money worth it. However, I would never not recommend a Fanatec for the DD 5 or 8 given the price. I haven't had a chance to get my hands on Moza, and I know the simucube stuff is also awesome (which microcenter also has competitive priced packages).
      Thanks for watching.

      @@RedlineSimRacing Have tried Moza r5 and my Asetek is on it's way. :)
      For first week 5nm was plenty but it worked out my muscles I guess and quickly felt weak.. so 12nm it is. Looking forward to the smoothness too :)

    Definitely not the best deal!!
    Pedals are horrible with no adjustability to move spacing! Annoying foot plate!
    Ugly green color that goes with nothing
    Ugly and cheap looking wheels
    Even the base and quick release look so cheap on these
    Also the upgrade parts on there eco system are way overpriced and not worth it!

    • @RedlineSimRacing
      @RedlineSimRacing  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      What pedal would you recommend at $200? What f1 wheel would you recommend for $200? Base and quick release is far from cheap. I'm a functioning over form type person but the look is important to you then these might not be for you.

    • @RedlineSimRacing
      @RedlineSimRacing  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Look, everyone is going to have a different preference. But sim-racing hardware warring is silly. For a 12nm base there are no other options at $499. The fanatec is nice ay 799, I've used one, but still prefer the asetek. Most pedals at $199 lack the same adjustability shortcomings you mentioned. However, getting a load cell pedal which IS adjustable, as is the throttle. But yes, you can't change the spacing. If you enjoy fanactec, or moza, other other brands, then enjoy. Those are all quality brands as well.
