    I’ve heard this mousse is really good with the honey hydrate leave in. Also with k18 you wanna use a detox shampoo so the formula can penetrate. :)

    Love your hair ❤. I just got my hair colored and my stylist has me using k18. She said for the first 4 weeks use it after shampooing and let it sit for 4 mins (don’t rinse it out yet) then apply my regular conditioner on top of it (I use AG conditioner). Then I detangle in sections and rinse it all out. Then I style per usual. She used the new Innersense mouse on my hair and it turned out bomb (she put a little uncle funky all over my hair, then sectioned my hair and to each section add Innersense mouse, I create definition, then I create hold on top). Oh and after the first 4 weeks, I’m instructed to use it once a month the same way

      Thanks for sharing this! I’m on my fourth use so I’m excited to kind of wean off of it and go back to my regular deep conditioning routine. I’ve seen small differences in my hair since using it and I feel it works faster than Olaplex , but OlaPlex offers a whole range of products that can be used on a daily basis, so I love them both.

    Yeah I work in a corporate office so I don't experiment that much because of it, and on top of it I work the front desk so I'm one of two that the important guests first see 😂
    I detangle with the conditioner and then I tend to go back over it with the tool for a lil more detangling when product is in and for help with separating but I do just try to use my fingers as well so it's a bit of a mix... Tool when needed when product is in

    I generally only use a tool to detangle when I am conditioning, and sometimes will use a wide tooth comb when styling on damp hair if needed. Also, the Camille Rose mousse has a lot of conditioning and moisturizing elements in it already, so I’m definitely looking forward to seeing you give it another chance using it alone.

  • @camille_bkdimepiece
    @camille_bkdimepiece ปีที่แล้ว +11

    I don't think it was problem of using the two products. This mousse from Camille Rose is "an intense conditioning, lightweight setting mousse". So the frizziness is because it's not a firm hold. This one would work better when pairing with a gel for more weight. Hope this helps!

    Yep, your stylist was correct. K18’s company confirmed you can proceed with rinsing, deep conditioning, or whatever after the 4-minute mark. In essence, the treatment will become inactive after that timeframe.

    I've been using k18 for a year or so and what has worked best for me is to finger detangle before I wash, then don't detangle with a tool until AFTER the 4 minutes have given the k18 a chance to do it's work along with my deep conditioner afterward. I don't wash it out, just put my deep conditioner on over it and do my normal routine, just with that 4 min. pause between shampoo and DC.
    I don't use even nearly as much product as you used (closer to the recommended quarter size amt per section) but still get crazy elasticity. Perhaps your feeling there was 'too much on your hair' was due to using about twice the recommended max amount of product. More really isn't more in this case. Different things might work for you though, but if you're still using k18, give it a try this way once... max 6 pumps for your entire head of hair, then leave on the 4 mins, add deep conditioner, then detangle after that, then style as usual.

    All mousse tends to make my hair feel somewhat sticky but I realize that in order to get the definition I want I have to use a lot of product but what helps with longer lasting definition is to apply one layer of mousse to my hair and let it dry then reapply a second layer over top and when I tell you the definition on top just sets the hair. It’s day 4 and I also stretched my roots and I have definition still going. From my stretched wash n go short. Tool use: honestly I switch it up a lot I was once detangling with shampoo and using a tool. Now if I pre poo using a bond bar #2 I’m using a tool once for detangling… Then I shampoo in twists and if needed I will take the twist apart and run the shampoo through. Then if I’m conditioning I will apply over top the twists and then rinse. If deep conditioning I will apply and undo the twists and detangle through. So one to 2 times max when washing. When styling I do it as needed depending on the product. If using s thicker gel I tend to use a tool to distribute the product if using a really high slip gel or mousse it’s all finger styling and raking😊 so really 1-3 times… after I get a trim and see how bad my ends are I will asses further my tool use.

    Hi, I just came across your video. I know you've since done a big chop. So K18. Use a clarifying shampoo. Towel dry your hair before you use it. Also, emulsifying the product on dry hands helps with that process. Lastly, after the 4 minutes is up, you can follow with a regular or deep conditioner and then detangle during that process. 👍🏾

    Have you tried using a light oil to apply to your scalp? If not recommend trying jojoba oil or even just vitamin e oil by itself. Both are very good at restoring your scalp’s natural sebum and doesn’t make your hair greasy. I used to apply it twice a week on my scalp and massage it in really good when I had dryness issues and haven’t ever had much of a problem ever since I did that years ago but if I ever do feel a little dryness that is my go to if I don’t want to use a heavier oil.

    Your WnG looks beautiful!💜 I have not tried the K18 and I don't think I will. It seems like a great product, but I don't need it in my routine. I only use a tool during detangling with conditioner, sometimes not even then. No shingling for me for me. I only smooth and rake.
    Not to cause worry, but pay very close attention to your crown. If it doesn't get better or if it starts to tingle, itch, burn, break off, or shed more than normal, then it may be beneficial to see your dermatologist. CCCA is very common among us and often we either don't recognize the symptoms or ignore them until we have an obvious balding spot. It seems that too many of us are not even aware of this condition. In case you are wondering, yes I have CCCA. I knew about it before I got it so I saw my derm as soon as I experienced symptoms. I've been able to keep my TBL hair and not have balding because I saw my derm early and am treating it both medically and with natural supplements. The pics I've seen of what could happen scared the living daylights out of me so I'm a bit overly cautious and try to inform anyone who mentions crown soreness. If you are already aware of CCCA then sorry for the long PSA.🤷‍♀🥰

    • @BrittanyMia
      @BrittanyMia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh my gosh, I am so thankful that you shared this! My crown doesn’t always bother me, but when it does, it’s usually when I’m trying a new product and it causes sun sensitivity in that area which is a red flag for that product for me. It’s these highly fragrance to Camille Rose products that can really set my scalp off.
      If I may, what supplements are you taking?

    • @1GoldenBreeze
      @1GoldenBreeze ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BrittanyMia Sure, I take Tumeric with Black Pepper in capsule form, and Pumpkinseed Oil which comes in capsule form and in liquid bottle form. I like it with vinegar on salads. Tumeric is anti-inflammatory, and pumpkinseed oil helps with growth. I know you will, but keep an eye on your scalp and hair in that area. Maybe try to stay away from those highly fragranced products if you can.

    Thank you for another excellent review!! I haven't tried either product, but will keep them in mind when I get through my stash of bond treatments (Olaplex and Curlsmith) and maybe the mousse if I fall out of love with Patterns lol
    I detangle at least 2-3 times (during deep conditioning, when adding leave-in combo, and sometimes during styling if my sections retangle). I've noticed breakage in my crown too and am trying not to stress out about it lol I just ordered the Curlrev finger detangler/smoother pack from Amazon, and am hoping it will help me with product distribution and smoothing down the cuticle as I style. I'm not the best finger detangler and just raking and smoothing product in doesn't give the results I prefer, so I guess I've come to terms with some breakage from using tools being part of my journey for now. I'll let you know how the finger thingys work 🙂

    I get my grey roots touched up about every 6 weeks and my stylist uses K18. There's a spray she uses beforehand and she uses the leave in treatment afterwards. But she does rinse it out after 4 minutes and conditions as usual. The one time we left it in, she was on restriction due to emergency surgery and could not shampoo and style my hair. So I shampooed my hair at the bowl and she put in the K18, and braided my hair up. I went home and finished styling. But I really didn't like it in place of my conditioner.
    I'm curious as to what your stylist says the condition of your hair is. You've used Olaplex and now K18. What are you treating? Even with my color touchups, my stylist doesn't use the k18 every single time. And I don't treat my hair in between my touch ups. Just cleanse, condition and style.
    As for tools, I definitely use the FL brush for conditioning and detangling. And i have low density (but coarse) hair that could be easily finger detangled. I used to be afraid of that brush. But I've come to love it because it really distributes the product and water through my hair. My hair gets better conditioned now that I use a brush instead of a comb or my fingers. In styling, I don't wear wash n gos, but if I did I wouldn't use a brush at my current length because it provides more tension which results in a tighter spring factor. But I use the same FL brush for smoothing and distributing styling products. Sometimes a finer tooth comb on the ends when I'm twisting my hair.

  • @bbappzz98
    @bbappzz98 ปีที่แล้ว

    What do you think of using a spray leave in like the aphogee in the future for the mousse series? That should be quite lightweight.
    I currently detangle once during conditioning then shingle when styling but I style once a week so I’d rather i put in a bit more time and have the definition last. Maybe when I have longer hair I might rake but I have a pixie now so I prefer high definition.

  • @STP255

    Double combing:
    1. I noticed if I’m consistent with a heated 10min deep condition with a Protien/moisture conditioner - and I clarify bi monthly (I use heavy products )- then my detangle sessions with my fingers are easier on wash day. My roots and sometimes ends are always so tangled. I may also have over maintenanced /color treated hair.
    2. When I style I’ll use a brush root to tip.
    *note when I shampoo I still smooth and partial detangle fingers only.
    I also moisture shampoo wash mid week and all purpose and reg. Conditioner - on weekend - when I deep condition only
    Hope that helps - sometimes it’s also good to expect tangles - it will never be perfect.
    But with more washes - less shed hair and reduced tangles -
    I also have high density 4a /3c - fine to medium strands-

    For the K18…use a clarifying shampoo; wrap your hair up in a towel…K18 says the hair has to be damp not soaking wet so that the product can penetrate. Yes you can rinse it out, but the reason I don’t do that anymore is I feel the product still rinse off.

When it gets to be that pasty white color, it spreads a lot better, and you may not need as much, and the amount of k18 you used may or may not be why it didnt do well with the mousse, I've seen some creators say too much K18 ends up feeling like a lot of product after the fact

    Team Volume ain't for the weak!!!!! When I think of mousse as my go to I try to remember that adding it is like adding MORE water. So, either I have to use something under or on top. Truly its an equation of sorts. Have a super firm gel, add mousse (water) to thin it out. Knowing that a Mousse Def spreads, use less. Adding water to mousse is simply combining Fiji with tap.

    If it’s breaking it’s because it’s dry, and it could be you’re washing it too often or sitting under the dryer too often! Your crown is the first spot the dryer affects so that’s intense heat on that spot for the whole time you’re under the dryer. If you’re going under frequently then it could be the cause of the breakage. Why not try letting your hair dry naturally or simply defusing it instead?
    I use a fine tooth comb once I’ve applied my homemade avocado, banana and avocado oil purée to my hair. If I do use a second tool it’s the diffuser on cool air to dry it. A hairdresser recently left my hair under the dryer til the treatment was dry and crumbly, so you can imagine that my hair is now damaged at the ends and the curls barely hold so I’m nursing it back to health at home. I don’t usually go to the salon but on that occasion I was tired. I’ve learned my lesson! 😊

    Olaplex or k18???? ❓

      I like them both, but K18 for a quicker process and OlaPlex for when you have more time.

    I have tried this foam amd also found it to be sticky no matter what and i dont like that. I have found better results with the more affordable foams like Lotta Body (never fails) and Not Your Mothers Curl Talk Foam....both under $9... but foams will never give you same results and longevity as gel, unfortunately, imo... good luck tho!

      Same. Even by itself it’s sticky and ion like dat. I see your point. I’m learning about the lack of longevity and seeing how I want to handle that. Thanks for sharing these affordable options!

      @@BrittanyMiaalso, just wanted to mention, its not that i dont think foam has no place in a wng. A foam with gel can give you longevity, definition, that light no product illusion AND quicker dry time.

    I’m curious about how you want your hair to look. Every combo you use results in beautiful hair, but it seems like you are rarely satisfied.

      Well, I’ve had successful combos that have worked great for my hair, but I’m on a journey. Quite frankly, I’m still discovering how I do want my hair to turn out, and I’m simply sharing that journey with you all. I have been satisfied with wash and go’s, but there is always something that could be improved. At least that’s how I look at things. While I enjoy them, I’m always trying to find ways to make it better the next time is all.

    It looks like, not only you, but most people use too much product. A bottle of The Doux will last me many many washes. I be like when is this stuff going to run out. Granted my hair is not as thick as yours, but I do have a head full of longer hair. When I see all the foam on your hands, it just makes me think it’s adding too much product.

    • @BrittanyMia
      @BrittanyMia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it’s different for everybody. If I use too little foam, my hair is too dry and frizzy. I can’t really say what happens when I used too much because I used this foam with another product. However, I know for a fact that product amount differs between heads.
