    Bet you didn't think i'd have this one out so soon 😂. The videos I post are about a week behind my actual wash days so I didn't see the point in keeping y'all hangin. Antyways, luh ya ❤.

      Yes seeee omg, and then the style will last you longer because as the days go on you can just refresh pieces. With a mousse wash n go after stretching I very lightly band with scrunches and the fluff in the morning :) love the results
      I always comment too early in the vids lol I see how you banded and I’m in love yesss yess. Also with the gym and hair I feel ya. I do my best gym seshes when my hair is in twists for 2 weeks

      @@chocolatecoils8200 if my scalp wasn’t such a itchy gal it would be a wrap. But unfortunately, I just cannot. I keep trying but I may just be a daily cowash girl and shampoo twice a week 🤷🏾‍♀️
      But now I know that the mousse refresh is not to be played with because it was a game changer 🙌🏾

    The fact that I sweat a lot, it’s best for me to wash every 3 days. Plus I’m also trying to hydrate my curls more frequently like the stylist, Lou suggests. As crazy as it sounds, I find it soothing just feeling water on my hair and scalp.

    • @BrittanyMia
      @BrittanyMia  ปีที่แล้ว +11

      It doesn’t sound crazy to me at all. Water on the scalp is a form of therapy for me because at the end of the day, as Lou states, the scalp is skin, and it needs to be cleansed. Especially if you’re living an active sweaty lifestyle. That doesn’t always mean shampoo, but it does at least mean water.

    I really appreciate your videos because ur not really a product review type of TH-camr! They definitely have their place but I prefer natural youtubers where I feel like I’m watching an open diary. It helps me re-evaluate what i’m doing myself, from a technique point of view. I feel like I get more long term opinions out your content as well.
    Whereas product review channels tend to be great for “first impressions”. I dont see a product come back as often as i’d like for long term benefits of xyz product. It’s also just great to be apart of your journey as I’m going through my own.

    Girl there ain’t nothing wrong with trying multiple hair brands to find your staple products because how else you gonna find them if you don’t try other hair brands. Hell I found some of my staple products but still try other brands just in case I might like something else even better. Also depending on the length of your hair you may lean toward a product you didn’t like when your hair was short or vice versa. Just keep doin your thang girl and do what is best for you. I love watching your videos and you have introduced me to products I have never even heard of that I don’t see other influencers using. This era that we are in is the best for us naturals to explore how we want to style our hair and use it to express ourself.

    I washed my hair every day for a month, and then I washed my hair every other day for another 2 months. It was great! I was woking a later shift at the time so I had time to wash and dry my hair in the morning, and didn't really have to worry about keeping my set intact overnight. Detangling was a 5 minute deal , very little shedding and my hair felt amazing every day. If my scheduled didn't change I probably would still do it. As of now I wash my hair twice a week.

    I’m a busy STEM major and I wash my hair every 2-3 weeks. Between those weeks that I don’t use shampoo, I use the ACV hair rinse by dp hue. It’s literally so easy, you wet your hair, put in on and it dissolves the product buildup. It says on the bottle it’s a shampoo alternative and it leaves your hair so soft. I literally do that and go right into styling. Literally a miracle refresh

    Have you tried just sleeping on a satin pillowcase? No banding no satin cap. It's like I forgot how to use it ( maybe to much product). I wash my hair today (did a pony tail with the ends braided). I like how Anthony Dicked explained how to set wash n go but I can see my self washig my hair and goind under the dryer every day. Maybe I'll try someday (I need to be on vacation for that).

    I wash my hair every Monday and Thursday/Friday because I am in the gym all week. I love styling with mousse- it’s honestly the quickest and easiest, but the spiked honey doesn’t last as long or last through my wild sleeping (I don’t wear a bonnet just have a silk pillowcase). My curls feel very soft but usually end up looking big and smushed after 2 days lol 👎🏽. Ultimately botanical gels give me the best results even after working out for days. That being said, I just used crazy sexy curl mousse with Innersense curl cream as my base and that has held up quite nicely. I do wash my hair twice a week though so I’m not looking for something that can hold a style for 7 days. If I needed that though, it would be Innersense gel. I just bought their I create definition foam though, because I am determined to find a mousse/foam that can cut down styling time and hold up for 1 product wash and go 😂.

    • @BrittanyMia
      @BrittanyMia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing this! As I’m using more leave in with mousse I’m heading back into my creams because that’s just where it’s at for me. I’ll eventually hit the botanical gels again. They really do hold up well, I just hate waiting days for the look I want.

    I do the resetting method that MKH talks about, but I never go in with just mousse - I use water. I find that it reactivates the mousse that is already in my hair and I don’t need to apply more product. I do find myself wanting to try some of the mousses you’ve used so far in this series. I’ve only ever used the Doux 🧐 I also completely understand what you mean about wanting to wash your hair more frequently. I wash mine about every 4 days and I would honestly do it more than that if I had the time and/or energy

      Thanks for sharing. I was so worried about hydration, but I did enjoy the recast although I did use more product. You should give them a try! And now that I’ve been cold washing, I’ve scratched that itch on wanting to wash my hair more often. Just an update. 🤗

    Listen to your intuition. I wash my hair everyday or every other day with shampoo and it feels right. I haven't experienced any breakage. My hair literally feel stronger because it's getting moisturized. The key is to find a shampoo that works for you. I also use deep conditioner instead of conditioner. Find what works for you and bump everyone else's opinion. The minute I did that the more free I felt and my hair loved me for it

    I watched this video last night and you mentioned the Anthony Dickey method. It got me thinking about revisiting it! When I got home from work, I watched his video and got in the shower after watching it! I did exactly what he said, wash with water, relax with conditioner and set with styling products in the shower. I could immediately tell the difference after I “relaxed”with AG ACV Boost conditioner! I set my hair with I create Hold! My hair is elongated the way I always wanted it to always be. My hair would always shrink a lot when I use ICH with UFD! I stopped using his method because I went through a period of wearing wigs, keeping my hair in protective styling because I didn’t want to deal with my hair. Thanks mentioning Anthony’s styling method!🤗🤗

I think the steam from the shower kinda reactivates the product in my hair and allows me to more easily reshape my hair after sleeping on it . I wait until after I've showered and see how my hair has unstiffened then style and stretch .

    First, thanks for showing how do your puffs. Second, I'm not wearing wash n gos at the moment so I currently wash, treat/condition once a week though I did do several twice a week stints in the past. I notice less shedding when I wash my hair twice a week. I do have a scalp that likes to itch in certain spots so maybe I will consider doing my hair twice a week indefinitely but have not made that decision yet. I told you sistah ain't nothing like a good recasting, and her name is mo knows hair. Not best lol. Beautiful results! In the formulation of the Camille rose mousse, the ingredient for hold, is much lower after all of the humectants and extracts. Which is why it feels richer and heavier. The shape you're looking for, is a triangular mushroom. Aka one length, but with a round perimeter! The front can be cut 1/2 to 1 inch shorter for the bang. Lastly, the ouidad climate control gel extra hold on top of any mousse is phenomenal.

Sometimes I get into a 2 aday zone and I do wash my hair everyday. I keep ACV and water in a spray bottle, and spray my hair down then put big twists in. No detangling or anything and when I rinse that out the products just come out I follow up with cowash. I do that for 2 days and on 3rd day shampoo and use rinse out conditioner. On weekend deep condition. This works great for me and actually when I'm doing this my hair doesn't get as tangled and I can style faster. Looking forward to what you do next. Thanks for video💜

    Girl, it looks like your hair is in the full anagen phase, and it's rapid! Those strands are just jumping out of your scalp.🤣🥰 I wouldn't worry too much about satisfaction level. We are all different with our hair and what our expectations are. So do your thing and continue to work with your stylist to reach your satisfaction with the outcome of the products you use.
    I try to keep my resets to 3 times a week at most, but with my scalp condition if it itches I need to shampoo. Mousse only, depending on the mousse, will give me 3 to 4 days. However, I prefer how my set looks when I apply a mousse over UFD. Keep playing around with it you will find what you like best. I know people say what works for you, but technically it all works it's more about the look, hold, and longevity that fits your personal aesthetic.

    • @BrittanyMia
      @BrittanyMia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve tried it before, and I did not like it. However, the way I tried it was to add it all over my hair and scalp. What I learned from that is, it’s better used as a shampoo in conjunction with a regular conditioner. I feel like a cowash product is for my scalp, whereas cowashing with conditioner is for my hair. It would not be a stripping as a shampoo, but it’s also not as hydrating as a conditioner so in between shampoo, I’d rather use it only on my scalp, and then add conditioner to the rest of my hair.
      Mind you, I haven’t tried it this way, but I will re-purchase that product and try it again because you mentioning that product makes me very curious as to how that would work out.

    It’s been a while since I watched the Mo Knows Hair video, but I think she used a lot less mousse on her refresh (could be wrong). Anyway, I’m wondering if you might want to move into doing more gel/mousse combos after you finish the mousse series. I’ve seen base gel with mousse on top, or mousse as the base with a bit of gel on top. So much to try! Also, if you have a silk or satin pillowcase you could try sleeping directly on it

    • @BrittanyMia
      @BrittanyMia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most likely. I used a lot. I will eventually move into using and trying gel/mousse combos. My only concern with that is flat hair, but I guess that’s where the mousse can come into play. I agree, so much to try! The reason why I don’t sleep directly on the satin pillowcase is because of my sensitive skin and acne. I get when Ive done that. I also just don’t like sleeping on loose hair. Tfs!

    Your hair is absolutely stunning. We have similar curl patterns. I’ve been natural for 10yrs and what I’ve come to realize is the less you wash your hair and the more you leave it alone the more it grows. Take people with locs for instance they don’t usually use a lot of products so they are able to retain length. Washing max every 2 weeks and if you can go longer without washing the better. That “icky” feeling you were getting on your hair is the product weighing your hair down bc it’s being overloaded with products. I understand you sweat in your scalp from the gym I would suggest twisting it up instead of reapplying more product in the week.

      I can only speak for my own hair, but that way my scalp and hair is set up, it grows more if I wash more. My head cannot stand to be dry. I literally cut my hair all the time because I don't want long hair and it grows right back. I just do the "Dickey method" and wash every 2-4 days because that is the quickest and easiest way and it takes me about 10 min. I use a moisturizing detangling shampoo (ie Camille rose castor oil or African pride honey) and a slippery product (ie Uncle Funkys or African pride aloe gel). I try to deep condition every 1-2 weeks. I'm getting older and lazier, and I just want to shake my hair and go. Also I work with animals, so I need my hair to be clean frequently.

    So from what I know about the K18 mask, you're supposed to apply it to damp hair and leave it in undisturbed and undiluted for the full 4 minutes before you do anything else to your hair (rinse it out, apply conditioner, apply styling products, etc). So when I see you add water to your hair while applying the K18, I'm pretty sure that deactivates the peptide rebonding process within the K18.
    If I were you, I'd consult K18 on IG and ask them if how you're currently applying it is OK or if you need to use another method because I'd hate for you to waste that salon size bottle of K18 because you're not using it in the most effective way.

      Like chocolate coils said, deep conditioner is a treatment. I choose to deep condition a lot because of how often I shampoo my hair for these videos, plus I just love deep conditioner.
      At the end of the day, you’re gonna have to do an experiment and test out the amount of time you need in between deep conditioning sessions. Maybe try just using regular conditioner for a few washes and see how your hair feels after 1 or 2 weeks of that.

    As someone with the same damn curl pattern, I feel that you're shampooing and detangling your curls too much. Stripping down and breaking up curls just has the tendency to make them harder to clump up in the future. The Anthony Dickie method worked for me despite it being a lot of work, it keeps the same curls in place and the most you'll do is finger detangle and cowash. When you hear the phrase "moisture trained" and "curl trained" that's what they mean.

    • @BrittanyMia
      @BrittanyMia  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hair twin! You know, you’re right. Since I’ve been trying these mousses, I’ve been over shampooing my hair and it’s starting to catch up with me so I’ve pivoted and I just started cowashing last week. I have a video coming about it in a few days but it’s been a game changer for moisture retention.

    • @Sloppyjoey1
      @Sloppyjoey1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BrittanyMia Cowashes are incredible, I used to be so against them because the thought of not shampooing my scalp is just unsettling, but in regards to my hair it's a gamechanger.
