Spike will always be my favorite. When he's on any couch, he's always able to give really good commentary regardless of the game and he's always able to crack jokes with ease. It just makes it so much more fun and entertaining.
The Web Woods and Parachute Panic section was fantastic. Even the absolute best players can still get roadblocked by this unforgiving game. Glad they could laugh about it, I would have been way too stressed out!

Hey, as a person who wanna start dipping my toes into speedrunning 102%, I've heard that I should get my hands on a V1.0 NTSC-J cart. But how do I tell what version the cart is running? Is there any particular letters that I should be looking at on the cartridge's region code or something? Or is it the same as the NTSC-U verion with the letters and numbers? I haven't been able to find this on the dkcspeedruns.com website, nor in any other forum :S
I have a question, in the final boss, you can see at the left sife of the screen a metal door, in VOOID's run, this door is normal but in WAFFLE42's run it's broken, why is that?
Rodrigo Medina waffle runs on the JP version, so there are slight differences. If you also notice, during Haunted Hall waffle only has to jump over two bees after the midpoint but v0oid has to jump over three. There are other small differences like this
they said warpless right? don't the bonus barrels technically break that rule, by warping the player a bit through the stage regardless of success or failure? I'm well aware of the dev warp barrels, but you can't deny that most, if not all of the bonus barrels DO warp you through the stages.
I'm really peeved that DKC1 and DKC2 had runs this GDQ, but once again DKC3 was forgotten. I know it's not as popular as the others, but a lot of work has been put into it lately in terms of the speedrunning community. Plus, it doesn't help that most DKC3 runs in previous GDQs are tarnished by subpar commentating and incessant negativity towards the game.
My god, the main commentator is awful. I don't think he stopped talking for more than a few seconds the whole time. I imagine hanging out with him is akin to wearing sandpaper underwear.
Fun fact: A long haircut is required for a valid DKC2 speedrun.

Mordant Potency Well I never found Web Woods that hard but that stupid parrot level was one of the hardest for me, maybe the hardest.

Spike is good, but i'm a pretty big fan of Edobean as a host as well. It's definitely between those 2 for me.

Spike Vegeta is one of my favorite parts of AGDQ. He's in a lot of the KH speedruns and those are golden
