      I dunno - I maybe reading too much into it but like... Luke ended up hacking off his Dad's hand (Star Wars that's a.... thing) then 're-deeming him'.

      To be fair, all the characters in the Sequel films were done a great disservice by the hands off approach by Disney and the producers. They never had a chance to be good because they were constantly being whipped back and forth into dumb story paths. Djinn has had a consistent tone because of Filloni and Favreau. This is the approach that should have been taken with the sequels, one director at the helm, with the same basic story in mind.

This will never end up becoming the end of the Jedi or Luke becoming a hermit. In fact you can trace the retcon back to the end of Mando season 2, but the info they have presented in Book of Boba, just confirmed and reinforced it. Dave and Jon as a Star Wars writers, knows that, "This is the Way".

    I think Grogu is going to make a point in picking both the saber and the chainmail. I just can't see any other option per the story they are trying to write. If he picks the saber, it raises too many questions as to the events prior to Force Awakens as to why we don't see him among the dead, if he picks the chainmail, that could be seen as too obvious. He's too attached to Din to be a properly detached Jedi. If they want to make it a point of him becoming a Mandalorian Jedi, he'd have to pick both. It also solves the problem of how to help Din train with the Dark Saber-it isn't HEAVY in the traditional sense of the word; it's just fighting him because his heart isn't into it.
    I think being with Grogu again, someone who's essentially become a son to him, would give him the clear head he needs to properly wield it. Grogu picking both would solve almost all writing issues or questions that this plot point of Grogu himself gives the writers. The sequels aren't inherently BAD MOVIES. They're very well made. Just poor Star Wars movies. I think it's important to show Luke as fallible. That he isn't perfect. After all isn't that what people complained about with Rey? That she was flawless? The plot points are all there, for a good story. It just needed to be buffed out. If OTHER SHOWS are how they can buff out the sequels I'm all for it. And the World Between Worlds EXISTS. It's right there. If Disney wants a restart....just make....a point in time....start a new timeline....almost like a Flashpoint per se.

      I mean they have written themselves into a corner, and showing Luke hasn't really learned anything from his time as a Jedi. He's making the same mistakes the Order did by trying to force this attachment issue, and it's his attachment to Darth Vader that ultimately saved the life of his friends, his own life, and the Galaxy. You would hope that might be a wake up call to him. I agree overall, I hope Grogu chooses both.

    • @TheRibottoStudios
      @TheRibottoStudios 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @UCkQmJVW8KSxsk6oz0lNOyOA I agree you'd think Luke would know better, but those who don't know or learn their history, are doomed to repeat it. Luke was taught by Yoda, who was taught about the whole no attachment rule. Yoda AND OBI-WAN both were like "NO DON'T SAVE YOUR FRIENDS YOU WILL DIE." but Luke ditched them for his friends. It was his attachment to Ben that ultimately saved Ben's life and saved Luke from making a TERRIBLE mistake. He really is too much like his father. Like Anakin, Luke acted out on a vision that was never complete-Anakin never saw the outcome of Padme's fate, just that she COULD die, and much like Anakin, Luke never saw the outcome of Ben's fate, just what COULD happen. And I like writing like that. Stuff that shows, while we aren't our fathers, our ancestral lineage doesn't define us, sometimes...that bit of the past just can't be shaken. What makes Luke a great character is that he's imperfect-not just that he's a badass.

    I've seen criticism about bringing in so many characters from extended lore like Ahsoka and others from Clone Wars, saying that SW will never succeed if it just relies on characters only hardcore fans recognize. For a while, I started question how true that was because while I was happy to see some familiar faces, I wondered what it was like for someone who wasn't familiar with cartoons and comics.
    Well this show switched things up for me with Black K, because I had NO IDEA he was from extended universe material. Not one idea. I thought he was brand new, but I was so impressed when he first showed up with the Hutts that I immediately wanted MORE of him. I absolutely loved how cool and scary he seemed. And then I found out he was from the comics, but realized I finally felt that from the POV of someone unfamiliar with a pre-existing character. And it still worked, because if a character is done well regardless, you'll end up being excited to see more of them, and then learn about them if they were from something else.

      @jeremyadler9620 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fair point. I also liked seeing Back K, if only because a Wookie enforcer/bounty hunter is a cool concept and he's fun in the show.
      However, I'd argue that introducing characters like Cad Bane, who I had no idea as to who he was until I watched a review where he was named, in the way that this episode did, is a bad way to do it. It just leaves people confused and annoyed that there's stuff from the Clone Wars being introduced that some people haven't watched before. I've only seen a few episodes of that and Rebels here or there. I'm NOT a hard core Star Wars fan. All I've seen are the movies and the live-action TV shows. Sure, I've read a few books and played a few games, but they're mostly all standalone and don't require any other information to properly enjoy them, apart from the basics.
      I'm genuinely happy that people are enjoying this show more now. I just wish it was done in a more general way so that everyone could enjoy it and not just Star Wars superfans :)

      @@f1jones544 As a fan in general when there's a cast established in any series they become a collective part of the overall story. Mando is the flagship franchise then theres BOBF & Ahsoka (The spin offs).
      Thus Its not unusual to see episodes which feature those various cast member's sub plots.

    I think it's all on purpose. This entire show has been Boba trying to walk the wrong path. I'm hoping that the realization happens in the last episode and he puts the helmet back on for good

    • @CoalCoalJames
      @CoalCoalJames 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You sweet summer child, they did Boba dirty because they ripped off his character with Mando and they can't have him be Boba because they already did it with Mando.
      "This entire show has been Boba trying to walk the wrong path" No they literally WANT him to be inferior and a bumbling idiot... my guess is so his bodyguard can take over as the strong competent leader.
      Sorry to be a downer but I know a lot about the production being rushed and even the actors where calling this shit out for "not being in character" and it's was literally being written on the fly as they shot it and is/was undergoing massive reshoots to try and salvage it.

    Seeing the young Skywalker again was awesome, and sad. Knowing what a complete failure he became as a Master Jedi just hurts. I'm working on concentrating on this time-line and forgetting the awful future that the franchise gave us. Regarding the Choice- I thought it was perfect. Better for Luke to know now, instead of later. I'm pretty sure Groku chooses the chain mail, and I'm ok if that happens. Amazing episode- sorry it ended with the Marshall getting killed/hurt.

    • @fallis07
      @fallis07 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There's no way Grogu wields the Darksaber, for a few reasons.
      Firstly, Din gave his previous melee weapon away to be turned into armor this is his new one now. Secondly, you can't just take the darksaber, you need to defeat your foe in battle, I don't really see grogu fighting Din like that. Thirdly, isn't it like prophecy that a mandalorian would save mandalor by wielding the darksaber? Din has to go underneath the wreckage to attone for taking his helmet off still. And Lastly, I think the darksaber is WAY too large for Grogu, there's no way he's swinging that thing around, he would need yoda's saber if anything.
