Energy weapons are sophisticated but expect to get burned if you're not careful about heat buildup in a ranged weapon or the fact that a melee weapon can also cut users. Outside of the new trilogy I don't think we've had anybody just pick up a lightsaber and wield it masterfully without training or the extras extrasensory perception granted by The Force.

    On the Badass of Boba Fett, I agree with Alex. When we first see Fett, he is just a brutal badass. And I think that’s what we wanted more of in his show when it’s the current timeline. The flashbacks, build him up and fill in the gaps for the time he’s gone, but in the current day he should be that guy that people respect by his legacy and reputation. Personally, the only time you should actually hear Boba’s name is in whispers because people are afraid to say it out loud. That’s the kind of respect we are still hoping for

    • @tomesjt05
      @tomesjt05 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I think it is coming. I know we all harping on this neutral treaty and his “respect” over “fear” mantra he has demonstrated; but this also seems ripe for sucking us into that fan bashing/disappointment and make his actual “neutralization” of all crime families in the end. Keeping them neutral allows him to be strong and justification for their destruction when they turn on him (which they inevitably will). Anyway that is my hope. He tries to influence, but then realizes he must incinerate instead. And the end of the book isn’t just one dead crime lord (Bibb in the beginning) BUT ALL crime lords but Bobba. Setting up a larger conflict with Hutts and maybe even emerging 1st Order.

      @@tomesjt05 to take from your assessment I agree. I think “Boba Badass” is coming. The Bacta tank showed him losing his family TWICE now and they made a point to say he was finished with his healing. And his skin looks normal. I’m wondering if maybe Boba was genuinely weaker than ever before and that fight with the troopers in Mando S2 took the rest out of him following getting his ship back from Jabbas Palace. If he isn’t a ruthless bounty posting crime lord in this next episode they’ll never recover but I’m giving them one more episode.

      I don't give a fk about cars and i really enjoyed that scene too! u can be sure i cared about Mando building his ship way more than anything that happened in the first 4 episodes... I don't think it was a bad idea to give that time to introduce Mando's new ship, this thing is gonna be iconic and powerful as hell, so its great that we got to know this ship so intimately beforehand.

I can also get how he could come to the conclusion that he can't succeed without allies. But to me this contradicts his behavior toward these leaders WHO ARE those terrible leaders that are almost getting him killed. It seems like he'd be forming alliances with these more independent groups and entities to overthrow those leaders. And kudos to the show on that; giant wookiees and cyborg bikers(as silly and "trust fund kid" as they look) fit that bill. But I don't see why he would show these other gang leaders much respect at all, particularly after they're like, "Yeah, we aren't helping you". They are the epitome of those people he's fed up with.

      We needed to know what Boba did during all that time... it was well done and wouldve sucked if they rushed through the tusken storyline.
      Now we know he proved himself to them and became one of them but also lost them which gave him a whole another perspective in life... a perspective hes never experienced before, being part of a loyal family... and now hes building one himself.
      Its not that hard concept to grasp... most crimelords are idiots, Boba learned how to not be an idiot and rule with respect.

    That scene with him slaughtering all the bikers is only "badass" until it comes out that the Pyke syndicate murdered the Tuskens and framed the bikers. Between the facts that Fennec showed doubt that the bikers by themselves couldn't take out a Tusken camp and he didn't bother quesioning any of them to find out why as there wasn't really any reason for them to do so. The Pykes had plenty of reason to want them gone after the gun train debacle and to have them immediately say "nah...we're not taking your protection from you because we're already paying the bikers you hate" made Obi Wan do a force roll over in his grave about what "were were meant to believe". I'm guessing (for some reason like a contract or something) the Pykes were held at bay from coming in force and Boba opened the door with blasters chugging away on "innocent" biker gang of jerks.

    The armorer is obviously against blood ties, when she says what she has to say about Bo'kataan and her familial bloodline and how she emphasizes the phrase "This is the way." She believes in the culture vs rights by blood. This is further proved by how she agrees to make the armor for Grogu, which could be explained by her beliefs vs rights. And my final explanation for her stance is that she offers Mando the information to redeem himself.
    The fact that Mando fights a descendant of Tar'Visla and beats him while not wielding the Black Saber proves that no matter of bloodline it's truly just a symbol and that people cant just claim the Dark Saber for themselves thinking that it will make them a leader, blood ties or not.

      exactly. I think an issue is that Mando is Favreau/Filoni's baby, while Boba is Lucas's baby from like 40+ years ago. The image of a bounty hunter hopping around the galaxy like a badass lone wolf was implanted in fans' minds in the 80s, realized in the Mandalorian show with organic elements to still keep our hero vulnerable. The premise of "crime lord" in BOBF isn't engaging unless it's about a downward spiral of morale (Godfather, Breaking Bad) which you can't sustain using a character like Boba without radically shifting his politeness.
