It's 2024. Who's watching this Incredible Performance.? RIP WHITNEY HOUSTON. 🙏😢
here i am watching this for the first time 🥹
Me tooo 🤣😭
Yessss I just cried tooo
I am . I guess she is the only one who is impressive the entire youtube singing whitney songs
Watching with tears of joy n sorry, Whitney is gone!
It’s March 2024. Who’s watching this awesome performance? ❤❤❤❤

Miss you Whitney. 😢💙
April 2024 ❤❤❤
Me! ❤
April 2024 Still watching, Love you Whitney ❤❤❤❤
I Love how Whitney was standing there encouraging her, and cheering her on. She knew what a challenging song it is to sing, especially in front of her, and she was right there, helping her through it :)
And that was always her. She always encouraged other young and up and coming singers.
She was NOT helping her through it, she was being a “proud mama”
yeah that was one of her beautiful traits -- she was never shady or jealous or competitive with them, she was always kind and supportive and appreciated good singing@@HondaMom
Whitney fully, especially right before those big notes, looking like "you got it come on" then being blown away when Jen over delivered. What an amazing interaction!
The fact Whitney stood up through the whole song like a proper little fan, argh she was one of a kind ❤️
Whitney looks like a parent encouraging their child on stage.
Stage mom
It's exaclty what shes doing

Yes dolly song but you discover the song from whitney and all of us because if whitney didn’t sing it none cares about that song xD
@Dave Tempe it was charged up to suite Whitney, plus Whitney put it on the map
Watching Whitney encourage her with her arms LITERALLY wide open is by far one of the most amazing things I've seen. Wow.
Whitney was a amazing vocalist, only Jennifer Hudson could sing that song miss U Queen

Man okay. That's Whitney... Omg.. I would have cherish that. I cried hard when I seen this.... This is real
And also knowing she was higher asf at the time of that taping and gone within 2 years because by then she was strung out and looking very gaunt.
So glad she was honored this way before she passed.

That was the most beautiful rendition and tribute to Whitney Ive ever seen. Jennifer gave Whitney her flowers while she was still alive. A true testament that women genuinely love eachother with a godly respect and no drama and it looks good on us. I MISS WHITNEY SO MUCH. Thank you JHud, YOU ROCK!!
You said exactly what I was thinking Jennifer gave her flowers 💐 straight to her and whitney was very extraordinary proud 👏 🥲 🥰
Absolutely terrific! This is the best tribute to Whitney Houston. I love that she was given her flowers while she was living. Whitney Houston is a legend.
The best indeed, I know Jennifer could sing, but this was mind-boggling, superb performance. RIP Whitney.
Whitley looked like a mom watching her daughter singing her song for the first time.. beautiful..

Yes, all of this. Touching and beautiful performance.
Yesss she def gave her the look and said go for it. When she hit she looked like a prouddddd mama
Whitney was whispering "Shine, my baby" from the audience. She was genuinely happy and honored ❤

But the song originally was from Dolly Parton
“Sang Baby Sang Baby” is what Whit was saying actually

Also Dolly Parton have a beautyful voice, but this song is better doing it by Whitney. She realize to transmit more feeling!!!

I'm speechless by the queen's reactions! Who else in her status would react like that? All the other "celebrities" just sit on the chair pretending to like what they are listening, being bored to death and not having fun. She was standing the whole time, encouraging, singing along, acting like a kid at her first concert! Amazing human being, gone too soon.
I think the same😭
You can say a lot of things about Whitney Houston but a hater she was not
You need to watch Patti LaBelle's reactions to Jennifer & Fantasia when they did their tributes to her😂 Jennifer sang "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" & Fantasia sang "Lady Marmalade "

How am I just discovering this video in 2023! My goodness!! Super powerful performance by JHud. And look at Ms. Whitney Houston! She was encouraging her all through it, with every fibre of her being, wanting her to kill it and not minding if she'd sing it better than her. Such a generous human being. Whitney looking at Jenny like "you better sangggg it girl" at 3:14 is admirable & the cutest thing everrr.🥰
An Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony Awards. After Simon treat her that way she’s still went on to become a star.
Not to disregard other singers but only Jennifer Hudson could have pulled that off. Sensational performance

Vocally speaking, she’s the modern day version Whitney..it’s a shame the industry doesn’t celebrate vocal talents like this nah more!!
Yeah. But Jennifer’s going to be in the industry for the long haul. These other artists that are immensely popular despite their limiting talents have a shelf life. Jennifer is going to be in movies for years to come and making music the entire time. She’s been around a long time already and she’s not going anywhere. i felt jennifer’s passion in that song with how much she loves whitney, she expressed it in every note. what an unimaginable performance.
And Whitney looked so proud of her, like a mother proud of her child. Jennifer did an interview at some point, with Atlanta Black Star, where she said that Whitney had followed her backstage and said, and I quote this, "I turn my torch over to you; you are The One."

Thanks to Dolly Pardon for writing such a beautiful song. And for allowing David Foster to change the arrangement slightly to fit Whitney's power vocals 🥲
I can't even fathom the courage and confidence it took for Jennifer Hudson to stand face-to-face with the ONE and ONLY Whitney Houston while singing Whitney's most iconic song. Straight to her face. And she KILLED it. This moment makes me so happy. Whitney knew how appreciated she was based on Jennifer's stellar performance of HER song. How blessed we all are to have witnessed this. ❤
This is Whitney's signature song and I think she does the best version this is true, but this is a dolly parton song and dolly wrote the songs you can't say it's her song The song belongs to the song writer. Whitney would have been the 1st person to tell you that.

From being rejected by American idols to singing for Whitney💜
Simon Cowell is only ever interested in a quick buck. He's a leech feeding on musical talent...
I don't understand these people who always bring up about her not winning American Idol. FORGET IT
In Jennifer Hudson's season there were other singers as talented as her, including the one who won, Fantasia. Talent is not just having a wonderful voice, but knowing how to engage your niche fans with your performance, maturity, emotion and charisma. Jennifer Hudson is the best American female voice in recent years, this performance is one of (several) proofs of that.
@@felipe.spengler I hear you but Simon was especially mean to her and as much as I love fantasia who had the Better career 🤷🏽♂️
