    1:43 So glad I found this! I had T-Mobile transfer from physical SIM to eSIM over 2 hours ago and I still had no connection to the mobile network. The rep did not tell me that I had to download the eSIM profile! 🙄
    For the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro (with Android 13), remove the physical SIM, then go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs (Add a network) > Download your SIM > Next. At the "Use T-Mobile?" prompt, tap "Download". You should soon see "Download Finished". Tap "Settings". Enable the "Use SIM" switch. At "Turn on T-Mobile?" prompt, tap "Yes".
    And after about a minute, the exclamation point should disappear from the Cell Signal icon at the top of the screen and you should see an acquired signal.
    After doing this, my 5G signal strength went from -130 and 21Mbps download on the old physical SIM (type "TM9263"), to -94 and 700+Mbps download on the eSIM! 🥰

    How do you switch from Verizon to US Mobile? Do you need too cancel with your current provider and then start with the new provider? Or can I do it all through US mobiles website and they will cancel for me?

    • @StetsonDoggett
      @StetsonDoggett  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I really need to make a video on this! Here are the basic steps:
      1. Keep your current service _active_ .
      2. Get your Verizon account info, including the number you need to port your number, your port-out PIN, and your billing ZIP code. I suggest you reach out to Verizon support to confirm this information. It’s important this is correct.
      3. Order a SIM starter kit from US Mobile (use code “stetson” at checkout to get it for free + $20 account credit), and when it arrives follow the instructions to activate.
      4. During the activation process, US Mobile will ask for your Verizon account information
      5. Wait for your number to transfer over
      6. When your number has transferred, you should be good to go! US Mobile will automatically cancel your Verizon account. Verizon will likely send you one final bill, and then you can enjoy the savings on US Mobile.
      I hope this helps!

    After watching this, I gotta admit that eSIMS are excellent. However, there are the following drawbacks:
    1. When mobile phone breaks, it is easy to transfer data to the new phone in case of SIM card. This is not possible in eSIM devices and users need to rely on cloud to retrieve the data such as messages, contacts and other useful informations.
    2. It is problemmatic for users who do not wish to be tracked when they use eSIM. It is easy for SIM card users as they can remove the SIM cards and hence it is not possible to be tracked by network operators.
    3. Users who like to use different mobile phones it is easy for them with SIM cards to do so. It is not possible with eSIM card as it is embedded in the motherboard of the mobile phone.
    4. There is possibility of hacking eSIM card data from cloud hosting.
    5. It is a challenge to be implemented world-wide by network operators in order to provide seamless operations.
    For these reasons, I personally prefer the physical SIM cards.

    • @mikhail823
      @mikhail823 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      1- SIM only have your Voice mails and that's it. 2 for you not to be tracked you just need to put your device to airplane mode and ur done. 3 - it is actually a lot easier for users to switch phones with esim cause they do not have to open the SIM tray and there is an option to do that within your ESIM capable device. 4- everything has possibility but it can be prevented. 5 - not all people are willing to learn so that's that.

    • @StetsonDoggett
      @StetsonDoggett  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Transferring your phone number to eSIM lets you use your phone in dual-SIM mode. This means you can have two active SIM cards in your device at the same time. This is helpful when you travel internationally, as you can easily get an international SIM card when you arrive at your destination, or if you do a lot of traveling domestically and you want coverage on two networks at the same time.

    What's E-sim? T-Mobile?

    Hi I tried everything to get it on my iPhone 12. But T-mobile’s answer is that it’s only possible for the iPhone 13. I know that the 12 is capable of doing it. But they’re saying that their network e-sim capability is only for 13. Any help or advice?

    I love how I was on the T-Mobile chat trying to activate my E-SIM and then I see this video pop up in my Notification Center a few minutes later 😭. #shouldofbeenpatient

    No es cierto la opción para activar no aparece en la app. Al tocar la opción activar me dice que debo llamar a servicio al cliente y eso es estresante pues nunca hay gente que conteste esas llamadas
