Quick bio. Abused and abandoned as a child. Placed in orphanage, adopted by orphanage worker at 5 years old, stuttered, talked very little. Showed interest in music and got voice lessons in hopes it would improve her speech, WOW it worked I'd say! Appeared on this show "You Are Super" for orphans and foster kids. Won show, then won Grand Championship show next year also. Was 15 in this performance. She's the next big Russian superstar, without question.
It felt like the song was aimed at her birth mother because she had aborted 11 other children and Diana was aiming the song a bit towards her bu saying your playing a wicked game doing this. Nevertheless she has the best dramatic contralto voice i have ever heard.
At the time, she was a 15 y.o. singer from Russia performing on a show for "underprivileged childrens" because she was physically abused and neglected by her mother. She ended up in an orphanage from 3 to 5 before being adopted. She is a dramatic contralto and now that she's heading to 18 y.o., she even has a wider range.

Diana Ankudinova was born on May 31, 2003 in Russia. She participated in the Russian TV project "You are super!" in 2018 with the songs "Derniere danse" (French), "It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” (English), “The River” (Russian), “Tomorrow Is A Lie” (English) and won. In 2019, she repeated the success, won the Grand Prix on the TV show "You are super! Superseason." with the songs "Blizzard" (Russian), "Wicked Game" (English), "Human" (English).

A mezzo-contralto and above. Meaning her chest voice is on male tenor level. But not exactly. Her chest easily goes higher than that. Not in this song, but in others.

It looks like a new dimension in human nature. Firstly, this is Dimash with his amazing vocal range and technique. Then this young lady with her several voices at once and absolutely magical charm. I feel that she is communicating with our souls directly, leaving aside our tortured brains. She puts me into a trance and heals me. Some say she is a good sorceress, some - a goddess, some - a heavenly messenger. There are also such young talents as Amira, Jackie, Angelina ... but when I listen to their wonderful voices, I still feel myself in the same world. Thank you for your time and comments for Diana. I've seen your reactions for Hf and other videos for a couple of years now, writing to you for the first time. Diana is a true artist, along with her amazing vocals and timbre, she acts,dances, plays piano, ukulele, draws,paints and even uploads videos of cooking traditional Russian dishes. She sings in her native Russian, also in English, French, Spanish, Ukrainian, Arabic and some German, only speaks Russian and being tutored in English. If Mother nature has a daughter, then Diana is her voice. The costumes for most of her performances are made by her Mother Irena and family. For me her best attribute is her ability to take a song and lyrics and covey the emotions towards her audiences, no matter what the language is. If you continue reacting...... this is a very deep rabbit hole. In this performance she was 15yrs, now almost 18yrs. Her voice has matured, she has expanded her range both higher and lower. Ironically, Diana herself was an orphan who was abused and abandoned by her alcoholic mother. Because of this beginning her speech was very undeveloped and she was given singing lessons to help improve her speech. Her talents was quickly recognized and the rest is history.

You have just listened to what may be a true contralto. “Diana Ankudinova, A Russian National Treasure”, I have been following her for awhile. She is another very interesting story that you will discover. Wait until you hear “Take On Me" or "Human" or "Rechenka" Even though it is in Russian you still feel the emotion behind it. I've heard her sing in Russian, English, French, German, Arabic and Spanish so far. No matter what language it is beautiful.

Diana's last name is really difficult for most non-Russian speakers because the accent is on the third syllable. I found it easier to begin saying Ankudinova as if it were two words: "An-ku DEE-na-va" or "Anku DEEnava" Once you get into the rhythm of accenting that third syllable, then you can go back to saying Ankudinova as one word.
Remember that the "a" is pronounced "ah" and the "i" is pronounced "ee." The other thing that English-speakers nearly always get wrong is that the "o" in her last name is not the long "o" sound, but is more like an "a".
