Hello Julia, wonderful reaction to DIANA ANKUDINOVA for the first time. Diana and GRACE VANDERWAAL are by far my two favorite artists. Both are special in different ways. I've probably seen a lot more than a thousand reactions to Diana, and many of the reactors were shocked the first time because of her unique voice. You did it very cool and analytical. Of course it's your job. Although I have seen hundreds of reactions to "Wicked Game", you have described her voice in words and mentioned things in a way that no other reactor has done. You are really good. Outstanding.
But for me Diana is not just the voice, she is the total package: unique voice paired with a great stage presence. Born to be on the stage, to sing and to perform. And nice to look at. Most of the reactions are to the videos from the show "You are Super" and for good reason. Every performance of Diana there and the total production of the songs are excellent. But I would recommend you to react to a small rendition of Diana at the age of 13: "Diana Ankudinova - "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien" and "Jodel-Time" (Moscow Karaoke Cup)" (th-cam.com/video/i7UyKidIMyw/w-d-xo.html ) . I envy the fact that you've got all these amazing performances to come. I can't count how many times I've watched her videos now and each time they make me happy. She is simply sensational and if there's any justice in the world she will soon be recognised as a world treasure and not just a Russian one.

By far the best appraisal of this talent. I think her low range is around Chers, but her high range is higher. It's the timbre of her voice that is so distinctive. As you said, the test will be when she widens her repertoire and sings marketable pieces and challenges herself much more. I believe she can do it, but only time will tell.

The RIver, which is also called Rechenka. I cannot write in Russian, so I cannot spell it the way it sounds to a Russian speaker. Google gets it though. That performance of hers will show you that transition you are looking for. :)

Julia ...Nice reaction. Check here back story. She comes full circle from as bad as it gets all the way to where she is at this time. As an abused child she couldn't speak and was inspired when she hear other children singing at the orphanage. Speech came from musical sounds.

Hello Andreas, I don't think that just this two songs are enough to demonstrate Diana's vocal skills. She is very versatile. She can sing many different songs and genres. She works hard at her vocal. Diana was sent to a vocal school on the advice of a doctor. As a child, Diana spoke poorly and stuttered.
I see where the usual suspects are being suggested, all from this competition, and they are outstanding. But, if you're looking for a couple of wonderful submissions she posted recently, home recorded and not as much production, try "Havana" and her sublime take on the A-ha classic, "Take On Me". She entered her first kids contest in Russia where she sang a song that required masterful yodeling.
It was a masterpiece, a tour de force, some say the best yodeling performance in the history of videos showcasing yodeling, but in this performance it wasn’t just her amazing yodeling but also her body movement and stage presence and incredible as this might sound ( and I’ll shortly explain the reason why) but NOT ONE CHAIR TURNED!!!!
After the song was finished and the judges turned around , the audience interrupted what they were saying by giving Diana a 5 minute STANDING OVATION. After the applause, the judges had her perform a segment of a French song made famous by Edith Pief and after she sang it , the lady judge covered her face with both hands in utter shock , disbelief and SHAME. The judges said they didn’t press their buttons because they couldn’t teach her anything. She was beyond their level already. But this turned out to be a BLATANT LIE and one of the worse scandals in Russian talent contest history. Because the following day it was revealed that the contest was “ fixed” the winner was “bought” before the show started. A total travesty of justice and revealing how corrupt this Russian kids show was at the time.
And the following days over 80 million who watched the contest when posted on TH-cam spit on the judges.
But she got her revenge the following year and year thereafter by winning not only the Russian contests in two consecutive years but 60 more awards and contests.
Please ( when you get the chance) I BEG of you to at least privately react by YouTubing “ Diana Ankudinova yodeling”.
And you’ll witness a yodeling masterpiece and if you stay to near the end of the judges commentary ( making excuses and lying) you will hear a brief portion of the French song the judges asked her to sing that she NAILED!

Stop the hysterics. The scandal described by you on The Voice Kids occurred in 2019. The results were revised almost immediately - you should have said so. Diana did not participate in this competition. She participated in The Voice Kids only in 2017.

Есть ещё несколько неточностей. Вообще, любовь к артисту - это хорошо. Хотелось бы, чтобы вы говорили о ней только правду. Это несложно, надо просто это делать. Разделять факты и своё мнение, эмоции, надежды и так далее.
Several errors.
1. Diana won many children's competitions, long before "Voice-children". In an interview, she said that when she lived in the far East, she was asked not to participate in competitions, because then there was no competition. First time I heard Diana, I thought of the famous French singer Edith Piaf with her low voice. One of my favorites was her performance of "Non, je ne regrette rien" (th-cam.com/video/rzy2wZSg5ZM/w-d-xo.html ). Later I actually found a video of Diana singing the same song when she was 14 - th-cam.com/video/zSE_HsLqntU/w-d-xo.html - if you listen to both you can hear the similarities in their voices and I think Diana is actually a little bit better (Edith was much older in this video). I'm also amazed at her command of the different languages that she sings in, her English is very good, her french is very good and she really seems to understands what's she's singing and not just learning the words.

I am fairly certain that by now, somebody would have mentioned part of Diana's past to you. I think part of her unique sound comes from her learning to speak very late, needing a vocal coach to help her begin speaking at age five. The reasons for that are horrible of course, but I think maybe that is part of what you were talking about as far as somebody being ill or having something in their throat, where Diana's tongue placement seems off. If you have not reacted yet to her cover of Camila Cabello's song Havana, give that a listen. There are parts of that performance which makes it seem like Diana is deaf (I don't mean the part where she cannot hear the music and messes up; I mean that sound that she produces). You know how deaf people who do learn to speak have that certain 'twang' in their voice? It's like that for me; maybe it's just because I had heard some of her backstory. :)
Rechenka (River) is a very good choice for next review if you choose to do it. She definitely expands in that one. Igor Krutoy is currently sponsoring her.
The technique and voice of Diana are unusual. To better understand, you need to watch not one, but at least two performances. You have chosen the wrong song for the first reaction. The first was supposed to be "The River" (Реченька). "Wicked Game", same as "Human" gives an unprepared listener a sense of pretense and excessive voice manipulation, because you assume that you are listening to a singer with a regular voice background. Emi Pellegrino had the same reaction at the first moment, but she has a rule, she makes two videos in one reaction, which allowed to correct her opinion immediately. At the age of 12 Diana sang "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien" and I consider this performance the best since Edith Piaf.
