Young, talented, coachable, good intangibles, good mindset, winner, good in high pressure. A good seed to plant in the Vikings organization

Offensive minded Head Coach, great skill players, JJ won the Qb Draft lottery in many ways

James Kirk thought the same thing when he planted the Khan seed on Ceti Alpha V and he nearly ended up destroying the whole universe. I'm not saying McCarthy will destroy the universe. But he might just destroy the whole Vikings team.

Y'all are microanalyzing a 21 year old kid that just won a championship.... Give the kid a chance to develop... He will be a great QB!

And we agree. We want to educate fans on what he does great and what he'll need to improve in the NFL thats all.

It’s necessary, every inch of what they’re talking about matters when it comes to being an nfl qb!

@@jp8006 I'm a retired scout and know that, but all rookies need time to adjust to the speed of the NFL and develop their mechanics etc. 90% of playing QB in the NFL is mental. They can't get by on athletic ability alone like many do in college. NTM most need to learn a pro style offense. JJ is the most NFL ready QB because he was developed by Harbaugh... He is also the most intelligent. I will take a smart QB over an athlete every time.

As a Viking fan starved for that Franchise guy totally excited for JJ. He has so much upside without having to be thrown to the fire. Let the kid suit up, feel gameday, and learn while watching Darnold. Maybe he's ready week 7, or maybe he battles for the starting gig next year. He is young and ripe with talent. Don't over extend a young brain that needs to absorb information to be your CEO of your team/franchise QB.

We agree if he adapts quickly great! If not let him practice, watch, & learn for a little.

According to Matt, the QB who throws the most passes is the best? Lazy

Hays and Haines use to like quarterbacks that use to throw allot.

    • @SimmsComplete

Duaaaannneee, I did'nt say the QB who throws the most is the best, I just said that the others have more reps dropping back, making decisions, and throwing more than JJ and if I was in a draft room that would be a point of discussion for me regarding the most important position in football.

Wide Open 😳, he had very few touch throws and anticipation throws compared to some other Qb's.

Honestly, I see major issues with many of these throws that create missed opportunities for yards after the catch. He does make good decision about who to throw it to and is decisive. His accuracy is okay and has room for improvement with NFL coaching.
at 4:28, he has a clean pocket and a wide open receiver in the middle. The receiver has to slow down to catch the ball towards the back hip. If he leads the receiver that is a touchdown. at 4:41, that is a really long and slow windup to throw and the ball is in the air for a long time also. at 6:29, he runs into pressure from a clean pocket and throws a hard sinker to a wide open receiver. 7:16 is a great play and throw. at 7:51, another good play because he removes the ability of the safety to move up and make a play by going back shoulder.
At 8:18, that throw is underthrown for no reason to a wide open receiver. At 9:14, that throwing motion looks like right handed Tim Tebow. At 10:47, again he wanders forward into pressure from a clean pocket. At 12:21, that is an okay throw but it should be to the outside of the receiver. 12:43 is another very nice throw.

Your viewpoint is fairly even-handed rather than ridiculously overly critical like many armchair analysts have myteriously been about J.J. I realize you didn't get to pick the plays to pick apart. The Simms picked them. But, once again, the kid is thowing completions 20 or 30 or 40 yards downfield and your focus isn't on the fact the pass was completed for a 1st down, but on this little nit or that one (not in stride, too low, too fast. wrong shoulder, etc.). The run up this year's draft will long be remembered for the number of fans whose comments, or even their videos they put together, were filled to the brim with long pass completions with which they found supposed serous faults in support of their opinion J.J. was going to be a 5th round pick to play backup in the NFL..

@@Yesquire0 Thanks, yeah, I guess it is normal for most people to view QB's as a bust or a steal. I still believe he is not a day 1 starter right now. I think success for a rookie QB is based on coaching, health, and chemistry with teammates. These things can be difficult to predict. A lot of QB's look impressive in college but have weaknesses that are exposed by the higher level of competition.
