This totally destroyed mine. When I unparented it caused all of the bones to lose their parents and I had to start over. Can no one explain how these weighted paints actually work! for crying out loud!
I think this way you wouldn't even need to weight paint your way like a dumb person wasting time. Literally best way to almost perfectly connect bone to mesh. thank you so much!!
For some reason I keep going back and fourth with this cause my character wears shoes and when ever I do a pose, some part of their show seems to extend whenever ever I move one of their legs. Am I missing something?
Did you do same steps as per this video. Still you are getting mesh glitch in pose mode. Then, first clear parents parts of body from armature. Afterwards, remove vertex group of mesh. Then, check your mesh vertex properly. Then, check armature is properly aligned with mesh joint(like leg joint, arm joint etc.).After doing this steps. Now, You can parents mesh with armature also use weight paint for mesh influence.
hey. problem i having is my charater model i have made not getting rigged,only other meshes like hair,eye etc but not the main mesh like body and whatnot. i tryed remove double but still not rigging :(((
If I click on ctrl p automatic weight with the mesh and bones selected, the mesh goes to another location and then it isn't visible in pose mode anymore. It tried to parent it but that doesn't help. I used this technique on the teeth and tongue but it didn't change.. I have auto run python on. I tried ctrl a scale, if I use the other ones it deforms.. How can I fix this?
This will work. first clear parent of object then check that object should not have double vertices apply merge by distance to remove it. Also remove vertex group of object. also align object with bone in proper way.

Object + rig> right click>Parent>clear parent
select object> ▽ >Clear all vertex group
object mode> select object > edit mode > A > P > Selection
object mode> select object > Set Origin > Origin to Geometry
object mode> select object + bone > Edit Pose > Bone > Ctrl+P > With Automatic Weights

Awesome anti distortion trick. I usually added a hidden mesh to connect directly to the deform bone where it positioned

I pressed Alt+Z and It opened the gaming window outside blender, did not work for me !!!!!!!
