- In this video we do so much overdue maintenance on the 1986 Bobcat 743 Skid Steer. The filters and fluids used are shown and described in the video. I went to 10W-30 Rotella Diesel Spec Oil for the Kubota engine in this thing. I have also had a ton of electrical issues and particularly with starting this machine, after replacing the battery and doing some tests, the only real viable option was to change the alternator as well.

Your ad says changing hydraulic fluid you change the motor oil there's a difference
That's a good looking old 743. Do it a favor, put some new glow plugs in it.

I’m looking at one of these to buy, what would you say there worth with 2200 hrs on it?
For sure that’s low
Not sure what’s it’s worth depends on the market you are in. But don’t always trust the hours either, may have not worked for some time
The hour meter works a can hear it tick and have seen it move a few tenths will running it and checking it out. I’m in northern ca, near Lake Tahoe. It has auxiliary hydraulics an enclosed cab and cab heater. It’s from a family member who passed away and I want to offer his wife a fair price and don’t want to overpay either. Does $6000 or $7000 sound fair? Any advice is appreciated.
