    What a great video! Very helpful and also hilarious...at the 6:56 mark. I would assume your son walks in the background and samples your diesel fuel. Im sure he replaced your jar of diesel used earlier in the video with pickle juice. I was laughing so hard! Hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love humor.. what bright young man.

    If the primer bulb won't prime odds are that the flapper valves inside the bulb are worn out or stiffened up with age and they need to be replaced or the bulb can be replaced entirely. You should not need to finger block the hose to get it to work.

    On an 863, do we have to pull the tank out or no?

    • @tetradgroup
      @tetradgroup  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No but it sucks, you will have to remove motor mounts under cab and use a long pry bar to lift pump side of engine to access to pick up tube. Use a helper to work pry bar while you wedge the engine up. My first one took a couple hours but much easier now that I know exactly what to do. I really sucks but definitely doable.

    Just love all your videos, your bobcat knowledge is unsurpassed, your experience shows up in the videos when you demonstrate HOW YOU DO IT and make it look so so simple. I do have a question for you, in an 863 the fuel pickup is located further forward, in what seems an almost impossible place compared to the 763. Is it possible to replace the tank pickup tube without removing the engine?

    My 863g lost its fuel pickup tube during a snowfall of course. Luckily my bobcat mechanic was out on another machine callnearby. He said he'll be able to move the bobcat by going through the fuel filter and a gallon jug of fuel. He had me out of the way in matter of seconds. Do you know about this? I thought it was the slickest thing I saw. For a couple dollars to replace a fuel pickup hose, I replace my hose every fall so there is no problems. Thanks for your videos and help.

    Great video! Occasionally my S185 will die out with the primer bulb sucked flat and not restart into I let it sit for a while. Biggest clue was when I removed the fuel cap and heard a whooshing sound as air rushed in. Apparently my tank is somehow pulling a vacuum and not venting. Is there a breather vent somewhere? I've searched online and cannot find and information on this. Thank you sir.

    Remove the fuel cap remove the primer bulb from the line coming from the tank blow into it with your mouth. If you hear gouging from the tank your check ball is not seating if you can easily blow back and hear the air sound coming from the tank then your pick up tube has come apart.

    Hi, this is a fantastic video! Thank-you for the taking the time to educate your viewers. I have a similar problem with a Bobcat 864 and hoping you might have some suggestions. The machine was running fine and then it just stopped when sitting at idle. I discovered both the pickup line and return line were in fact completely broke off in the tank. I went through the repair as you instructed, but now I am having difficulty getting the engine to run right. I bled the line on the top of fuel filter per your instruction, yet when the engine is started, it blows a lot of black smoke and runs rough. It has the Deutz engine so it doesn't appear to have the jet valve you shared in the this video. Any suggestions on next steps would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you!

    • @tetradgroup
      @tetradgroup  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Make sure the lift pump is working by opening the bleeder screw on the fuel filter housing with engine running or while trying to start and see if you get a nice steady stream of fuel from bleeder screw. The black smoke is a little concerning, because black smoke is unburnt fuel which is caused from too much fuel and not enough air. Again first check the lift pump if it's working you might need to check the turbocharger.

    • @jasonhoge7516
      @jasonhoge7516 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank-you! Lift pump is working great. Loved the tip on black smoke caused by not enough air. I changed out the air filters, which were pretty dirty, and the machine is working great again. A little smoke when starting, but then the exhaust turns clear with a nice idle. That did the trick. Not sure why it wasn't doing that before the fuel line failure but it seems to all be back in harmony now. Thanks again for your time and posts. They are life saver! Now to follow your other video on changing out the timing belt. Again, thank-you so much!

    Thanks for these videos, they very educational for a recent bobcat owner like me. I have an 843b. The tilt linkage bar runs under the pump with a pivot right in the center. The bushing is so worn it basically won't work. I have gotten the nut off the bolt but there isn't room for the washer to come off. 1) Where is the head of the bolt? 2) Do I need to loosen the pump to make this repair. Thanks again for the videos.

    Great video! Thanks! Question! I believe my fuel shut off selonoid is bad. If it is bad, does it stay stuck in the 'OFF' position? The only way it starts is if I have someone in the cab turn it over and I manually move the shut off valve to the right 'off of the 'OFF' position, but then the key will not shuit off the engine. I can pull the key right out and it keeps running.? Thanks

    • @tetradgroup
      @tetradgroup  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, if the solenoid was to fail it will fail in the off position. There's actually a stiff spring inside that pushes it to the off position. It sounds like the plunger is probably rusted and not moving freely. If you disconnect it from the shut off lever you should be able to push it in and it should pop right back out under spring pressure. Try that with the key off. With the key on if you push the solenoid in to the right it should hold itself via the electromagnet. The red wire is constant 12 volts with key on. The white wire is only for the pull and is 12 volts momentarily.

    I had a hydraulic leak on my 743. Had to pull the motor, got it fixed, replaced the motor, and now it takes 5 to 10 minutes to get started. Just turns over, until finally it'll hit a little, then more turning over until it eventually catches enough to run. Any ideas? I've replaced my line from the tank to the fuel filter, primed it, bulb got firm. Then was gonna replace the line from the fuel filter to the pump, and it was full, so I left it. Bought a new fuel pump (or lift pump maybe), but haven't put it on yet.

    Bless Have you ever a video about a T190 having false overheating problems, when it’s not really overheating. Great videos

    I have a 773g. I was able to solve my problems with it because of this video. The biggest thing was reinstalling the grommet. All the other videos made the process so difficult.

    What happens when water gets into system via bad fuel? I have a T250 that got some dirty fuel and now the only way to crank is to spray starting fluid to fire off, bad injectors? or injector pump?

    I think this is my problem on my 863, although I think pick up tube is intact but there is probably a lot of contamination in tank. Also lift pump is leaking from cap so I think it is either going or apparently I have heard a screen in there needs regular cleaning. I will drain tank and check screen tonight once I get machine thawed out.

    I have a 2013 t650 with the kubota that collapses the primer bulb only in the winter. I googled the tube and it looks like it could be metal? I was going to replace the pickup tube and primer bulb to try and solve the problem. Runs fine in the summer.

      Depends on winter, When its near 0 or below any moisture in the tank will freeze around the metal pickup and cause the symptoms you are describing.

      @@tetradgroup thanks for the reply
      That actually really makes sense because when it runs for a while the heat from the engine must melt the water at the bottom. It's always when it sits overnight and you start it that it wants to collapse the primer bulb. Going to drain the tank and see what i get. Thanks again!

    EXCELLENT!!!!!!!! EXCELLENT video. Explained very well. Wish I had this video 3 years ago and I would not have to redo it again. Thanks

    Thanks for the entertaining video. I'm working on a 743, which is somewhat different. It is close enough to get me thinking about things that helped resolve my problem, which was all the proper steps to properly prime mine after a filter change..

    Dog gone! Don't blow compressed air into fuel filter, et al (back into tank!) -- that explains a lot regarding my mower! Good tip!

    My pickup tube had fallen off before i got the machine, it's a 7753, so i just have a 2 gallon tank hanging off the side, so there can't be much fuel that returns back to the tank or my tank would be over flowing and i don't see fuel on the ground, but i need to fix the pickup, i have watched other videos where they fight the grommet back in the hard way and it put me off, thanks for the video, now i'm inspired.

    Great video! Now I won’t ever blow air back into the tank again thinking I’m clearing the line! Ha, ignorance is bliss right? Thx for another education.

    Excellent video! That's my problem, from blowing compressed air on the tank to unclog that tank filter.

    Great video and thanks for posting....quick question, if the engine won't start what is the best and safest way to raise the arms so you can raise the cab to get to the fuel tank. Thanks!
