A frequent point I see users making is that Death Battle's animations are more-or-less irrelevant to the actual stakes of the battle. My argument is that the animation depicts actions and feats that do not accurately represent the character, and Death Battle themselves use these situations to justify their argument. They also did not utilize variables they had brought up themselves, such as Hal's limited ring charge, and Ben's Omnitrix being able to react on its own. To say the battle shouldn't be taken seriously when analyzing the episode is to say that none of the interactions in the battle have any sway in how Death Battle decides the winner, which is not the case.

I assumed that DB was only sticking to Ben's original 10 aliens in order to make the fight fair. But the fact that they had him pull out Alien X and lose is beyond stupid.

They don't have focus,versatility and creativity. And on top of that they are VERY bias and makes amalgamation of characters to give unfair advantage. The Mario vs Sonic battle is soooooo bad,this battle is the reason why i don't watch Death Battle more.

Roktoof Yes so you see in Ben 10 there are many retcons and plot holes in the multiple seasons but there is an in cannon explanation for that celestial sapiens. There’s many art style changes and voice actor changes in the show and it’s confirmed by the creators that alian x did all of that he changed the cotinewity of the show he was in and by logic he is 27 dimensional. He is an author level character.
The thing that REALLY made me mad about the ending of that Death battle is something that wasn't even mentioned despite it being a literal quote from the shows creators "Time is whatever Alien X wants it be" meaning Ben could literally say that the past no longer exists and LOCK Green lantern from time traveling
It would be a hilarious bit of cruelty in a fight for ben, ever cocky to just wait out everything Hal can do to prove a point that alien x is omnipotent multiverse erasing/creating power that it is. While Jordan thinks bens mocking him with not even bothering to move, ben is there arguing for the guy to be taken down with the other parts of Alien X's control.

in ScrewAttack's Q&A for this episode, they mention that Batman removing Hal's ring should be neglected as a possibility because that was an inexperienced Green Lantern.... but then they used the original series Ben for the battle and use an example of Ben having the omnitrix removed in the first season of the original series by Vilgax where Ben's at the most inexperienced point in his life. so if ScrewAttack and that commenter you're referring to neglect inexperienced Hal, then all of Ben's inexperienced moments have to be neglected too.

Sed Donkus there are two problems with ppl who keep stating “the animation is only for fun” despite it being true. 1. This person isn’t complaining the results are inaccurate, he’s complaining that the fights are dull and do not represent the characters well. The fights are repetitive because they all act as DBZ fights and thus aren’t fun to watch for some ppl, so the fight doesn’t rly do anything for the viewer. 2. Even though the fights are just for show, that doesn’t mean that they can’t be inaccurate. GL beats Ben in a way that’s not possible and death battle claims to know that which makes the fight kinda dumb considering it’s not even a “possible outcome or representation” of what might happen. Hal has some impressive power feats, but nothing that puts hime anywhere near the durability of Alien X. The second Ben transformed into Alien X, the fight should have been over. It's also worth noting that Hal didn't beat Ben. He travelled back to before the fight started and killed an unprepared Ben. Not only is this a complete cop-out (Alien X could do the exact same thing), it goes to show that even Death Battle couldn't think of a way to beat Alien X. The Ben that was fighting Hal the entire time would just be standing there, wondering what happened. He never lost

A year later and I just realized Alien X’s time reversal puts Hal right before he recharges. That means Hal time traveled, cut off Ben’s arm, and stomped on him all on a decharged ring. I swear this battle just gets worse the more I think about it.
If you even think about it for one second.... And research alien x you know he would just stomp out bloody hal in the snap of a finger... the dude can rebuild universes, control time among other things (i havent watched the show in a while) i doubt he could ever be affected by a measly mortal
Let's also not forget the time Ben Died as Chromastone, omnitrix was completely removed when he was Crushed, then it brought him back to life. And this was during the time when Ben kept the Damage between when he was hurt as a Alien
I'd say the biggest issue with fights like this is they pin a character with a mostly linear path of progression with characters with severely ranging feats from dozens, if not hundreds of comic books.
I do agree as well. And as you said a lot of the death battles usually have a character with a short amount of media vs one with a large amount, or one with a liner story vs one with a complex story. And sometimes if a character doesn't have many main feats they start to use some non cannon ones to make up for it. A few examples would be like: John wick vs James bond, jotoro vs kenshiro, and master chief vs doom guy.

Slight correction on Hal's ring not having fail safes of removal though, that scene is derived from "Batman is so awesome and cool and unfallible. he's God." they completely broke continuity so Bruce could look cool for a second. Alien X and the rest of his kind are also protected from alternating timelines and even timeline destruction, not only would he be able to time travel as well to prevent Hal from winning there (which he should not have) but Alien X could also have been able to prevent from being erased.

A speed feat I recently realized is that Alien X being able to create the universe means he was able to create the distance of the entire universe in about a second that is incredibly fast since his power had to travel the length of the universe in both directions.
I mean even before that alien X could just send him a trillion years in the past or into the future. Time moves how alien x wants it to move I would also assume distance does as well
plus he only did that with 3 of his cells or particles whatever, point is that means his true power is unknown, alien x is literally the doctor fate of cartoons.

So if it were to theoretically happen, it'd be even stronger (somehow). Also, one older version of Ben had a "fusion" ability that combined aliens together. One fusion was combining an living nuclear reactor alien (basically absolute control over nuclear energy) and Alien X. This new form completely bypasses the multiple personalities, giving him full control over Alien X's powers although slightly weaker. Lots of little bits here and there.

Here's the thing: it doesn't actually matter what the characters morals are. It's called DEATH battle! And so it doesn't matter if the character doesn't kill or not. They could take dora (who never kills) and have her kill someone because it's a webseries about who would win in a fight to the death.

My biggest problem (as it is with many DC battles) is they took feats and abilities from multiple versions of a character despite them having different abilities. Yes silver age Hal could time travel and have a bunch of other abilities, his constructs were never shown to be as powerful as the modern incarnation.

I can respect them if Ben lost via a legit reason. Time travelling like that is not a legitimate reason when Clockwork can do they same thing. Big chill and Ghost freak can phase through almost all of Hal's attacks and Chromastone and Feedback can absorb all his energy attacks. Even being hit with an entire moon/planet would not be effective if you can't even touch the person you're trying to hit. Manipulating time is also not useful if your opponent can also do it. And from how it looks, Ben can do it better as Clock work can travel to different timelines, travel forward and backwards in time and even undo destruction from multi timeline bomb

Upjuck can eat almost anything thrown at him and send it back, in the original I believed they said he swallowed something that had the power of 16 suns. His changes are also incredibly fast and he can couple the effects together. So he could literally use multiple combinations of Aliens to out beat Hal. Upgrade alone could cause trouble for Hal since he and Megawatt can tamper with the ring. The ring is alien tech so why wouldn't an alien like upgrade be able to meet with it. Or even lobstar( think I got the name wrong) was able to pull apart technology from 25th dimension. Technology mind you that was on the same level as the omnitrix which was the most advance thing in Ben's universe
The animation isnt canon with the actual fight so if I was going to guess how green lantern could've won, I would say dismantling the watch with his ring. I'm pretty sure the creator of the omnitrix has taken out the center piece of his watch before, making it unusable.

But there's an episode of Ben 10 where the Omnitrix and Ben's hand was separated, and the Omnitrix took control of Ben's hand to reattach itself. If the Omnitrix AI is fast enough to react in a place where time doesn't exist, it could theoretically make Ben's hand come back to life, reattach itself and transform Ben into Alien X or a faster alien to avoid the oncoming hit
There is also the fact that Ben, using Echo Echo can use the Omnitrix to change into any alien he wants while still having the clones and changing the clones into different aliens. Remember from that one episode
I remember It was an episode(alien force) when ben had to go see his girlfriend's tennis match and he was bored so went to the bathroom turned echo echo , made two clones and turned back human producing three bens who later transformed into three different aliens.

DB: Alien X had no defense against Green Lantern’s time travel even though he just time traveled about 5 seconds ago. Diamond Head’s durability is nowhere near as tough as Green Lantern’s unlike Alien X’s. Alien X couldn’t stop universal destruction even though another alien was able to absorb a Big Bang. Ben 10 had no defense against having his arm chopped off even though it actually happened in an episode. Alien X couldn’t destroy Green Lantern’ shield even though Four Arms could. Ben 10 could only use one form at a time even with the life support system (which is just BS). I could go on but we’d be here for hours.
Db has a habit of going with the word of God argument. It isnt an invalid argument, but it isnt the whole argument. But comparing a hero who's been around for 10 year to one that's been around for damn near 100, obviously one will have more extream feats under their belt.
Think of it like this. Each Green Lantern has done incredible feats, they are able to because they have the will power to do it like containing the big bang or surviving the crisis which was a muliversal erasure. Now Hal has defeated the god of will power or the very embodiment of will power, with his own will power. So that means he would be able to do this same feats or do them in a greater way.

That one time Hal traveled through time, he only traveled to the future and lost his memories because of it. Also that was pre-crisis, and it isn’t something Hal can just do. The more powerful things the ring can do often require extreme focus for example healing. Before Simon Baz it was stated to be impossible for someone to heal with the green ring, but with enough focus and will he did it.
This is what I'm talking about. Death battle literally just takes everything from any Canon and throws it onto superhero characters ignoring the fact that they are two very different characters.
There have been multiple instances of GL time travel. He time traveled to the year of 5707. He was able to rip a hole to 100,000,000 years ago. He can send others to different times and even his power beams to other times. He power-beamed both Flash and Reverse Flash through time. Hal can also disrupt the flow of time. Even on verge of death, he was able to stretch a nanosecond into eternity (1) (2). He was able to freeze time up to a thousand miles from a planet and was competitive with Parallax Hal who was a casual time-freezer. Besides that Green Lanterns can create time as well. Hal created "chronal energy" and time. A flash of his consciousness was able to disrupt a time null zone. He was perfectly fine in a stasis field where time did not move. Green Lanterns can also destroy time. When the Time Trapper got a Green Lantern ring he destroyed all possible futures of Earth-1.
All ben literally has to do is switch to brainstorm at the start of the fight, and then there is literally no way he cant come up with a way to win, the best option probably being upgrade.
The problem of death battles using marvel/dc characters is that they’re such long running series. Back then it was all about saving the city but they needed to make the stakes higher each time that at one point they can’t make it higher. What do they do next? Reset the universe or retcon everything. Like one chapter superman could be beating up the writers because he’s “beyond the script” and next chapter he’d be getting beaten up by street thugs using an M9.
Yeah imo the Marvel/DC battles get boring to me unless against each other directly, just cause most if not all of their characters are OP or have a version of them that is, like that's their whole thing lol. Even Batman whose whole thing is just being human and overcoming that, with the fact he has contingencies for everything and is an immaculate tactician, has at least like 5-6 forms where he's just a diety 😂
Alien X should be treated less like a super weapon, and more like the old testament God. He can create the universe and all life, and then immediately kill everything if they displease him.

Even though I've never watched it, I knew from the title Ben would've win. While Hal is proficient with the ring's power, Ben had years of experience of each of his aliens and the Omnitrix. Even though Hal can go back in time, Clockwork and Alien X can do the same thing, especially since Clockwork once reversed a cosmic level destruction. While Hal can make anything, Ben's faster at transforming once the Master Control is active. Ben has over a million different ways to counter and overpower Hal. But no, we got Hal winning.
Death Battle didn’t go deep into the Ben 10 lore and power scale all aliens. They severely underestimated Alien X and his Nigh Omnipotent power scale and lowballed him to Universal + but in reality he’s actually at Complex Multiversal level. They made him 10 years old and held the Omnitrix he no longer used and simply misunderstood the failsafe. If they look back at the Ben 10 series finale with the Contemelila episode they’ve shown that with the Offical Omnitrix, Ben can’t die at all. Hal and his corps only killed Hyperversal being because Cosmic Armor Superman and the Miracle Machine had helped by severely weakened him. So technically Hal is nowhere near Nigh Omnipotent and Nigh Omniscient like Celestialsapiens. Once Ben transforms into Alien X it’s all over and not even a contest. Ben would simply exceed Hal in every single way.
Ben has never gone back in time with his aliens. Clockwork removed the Sotobro Effect of the Chronosapien Time Bomb, he literally states this. The Big Bang is slower than Alien X, who is slower than Green Lantern. Hal is the one who is countering Ben a million different ways, from overpowering, outspeeding, outlasting and having far more abilities at his disposal at once.
Most people seem to forget that when Ben turned into echo echo he split into three and had each turned back to human and had each went about the day each having it's own omatrix and able to turn into different aliens at the same time

Then he couldn't sense the Sotobro Effect. Not even as Alien X. Remember, Ben gained control of Alien X by cutting out Belacus and Serena. As a result, he lost their knowledge, experience, imagination and even their portions of power. Remember in the episode Universe Vs Tennyson? *"A little help here?"* Ben has NEVER time traveled on his own. Alien X might reverse time a bit, but he needs the full agreement of all three. Good luck doing that Ben. Serena even stated as such. *"Alien X can do MANY things. We just need to ALL agree."* So Ben couldn't even re-make the universe without Belacus and Serena's help. Ben lost. Accept it.
@@AnimeaddictionBen loses access to their knowledge and experiences, sure, but Ben is incredibly imaginative in his own right, which is displayed literally right after he asks for help (which is not indicative of power requests, mind you, but of suggestions for ideas on how to confront another member of their species) when he within seconds realizes that the ultimate weakness of a Celestialsapien is having to process situations to act upon them. At no point is it said that he needs all 3 to agree to have full power over Alien X, and you're just pulling the time travel bit out of nowhere. In the episode after Ben is given full control over Alien X, he's shown to immediately be able to act fluidly and without deliberation, showing he has total control as long as Serena and Bellicus don't revoke their permission to him (which they won't if it actually comes down to fighting a potential threat to their existence). Alien X himself exists outside of time and space despite being able to act upon it, shown by his actions occurring within the universe proper. Nevertheless he outright is able to move in a timeless void later on, showing that he has infinite speed and movement capabilities. That line you picked for your last point is *before* Ben convinces the personalities to transfer control of Alien X to him when he's using the form. Ben worked with them to recreate everything because at that point he'd not secured their passive acceptance of his actions yet. No power comes from Serana or Bellicus in of themselves, or else Aggreggor would have nothing to gain from absorbing an infant Celestialsapien. If Ben loses because of a for-entertainment show determining off of cherrypicked data and feats that determines that Hal can defeat gods and Ben is just a kid with a dumb watch, then anyone can write a story where Hal loses and it'll be equally if not more valid depending on the information they use.

Time reversal only allows Alien X to pull back to a certain point. Furthermore, the only time he ever did that was in its first appearance, and even then, he needed agreement. "Water stopping motion, seconded. Water stopping motion carried." The only things Ben did with Alien X were no different than what he did with his other aliens. Gravity and telekinesis? Gravattack. Duplication? Ditto. Black hole? Again, Gravattack. You look me in the eye and convince me that Ben had the imagination to re-create the universe. Alien X does not exist outside of time and space. The Forge of Creation and all universes exist in the black space. Time still functioned there. If it didn't, then Prof. Paradox wouldn't be able to function. When the Annihilarrg destroyed the universe, there was nothing but a black void. Time still existed. So why didn't Alien X just rewind time back to before the destruction. Answer, HE couldn't. Belacus even stated it was TOO LATE. I'm not assuming anything. You are.

He needs their permission to even de-transform initially, and once he's given control over the form, he's seen to do that and anything else he desires with relative ease. It's always a matter of permission, and we see that he retains their permission to act when in a later episode he uses Alien X freely and can move fluidly without the need to deliberate. If he has the power, that's it, he can do anything he can conceptualize. Also, when is Time Travel stated to be impossible for Alien X? We see devices like the Time Cycles used to travel both throughout time and *outside* of time, as they're able to travel to before the Universe is made (if the logic you used for black space representing the existence of time is correct, then this white void naturally would imply a lack of time, yet things are still able to happen there). Even Chronosapiens can travel throughout time and reverse its effects. Are you going to tell me that a reality warper can only ever do what they're shown explicitly to do on screen? What would be the specifics of this, would he not even be able to use attacks in a different context than he was shown doing it by this logic? Ben is shown to never engage in actions that are needless or overboard and instead to operate within the bounds of what matches the situation. This is why he doesn't just go Way Big all the time and smoosh anyone he fights. Yes, most of his actions as Alien X have been done before by other aliens. Perhaps this is a failing of creativity either on Ben or the writers' part, or this is simply because Ben has far too many aliens and has used too many powers over the series for something to have gone undone prior. Alien X fights like a reality warper would, shifting and altering things at will rapidly in order to guarantee his enemies are thrown off balance. Ben not doing some fancy new trick (although arguably creating a vortex that sucks in the Gladiator is somewhat original even if it involves Gravity Manipulation and resembles making a black hole (something he did in a *later* episode as Gravattack, mind you)) doesn't mean he can't do it, just that he didn't want or need to. Recreating the universe would be, like you said, time reversal. Time reversal is something he can do in a selective area or overall. If a natural, peak Chronosapien can un-erase INFINITE universes, then there's no reason a Celestialsapien, who's said time and time again by extremely intelligent and knowledgeable beings like Professor Paradox, Azmuth, and even Serena to be functionally omnipotent (the first using the term omnipotent to describe Aggregor if he acquires a Celestialsapien without personalities, the second claimed they could do anything, and the third implied consensus was all that was needed to do effectively anything (although logic violation seems to be an exception I'll get into shortly)) would be unable to do the same. The erasure of Infinite-1 universes by the Chronosapien Time Bomb was able to be reversed as a temporal event, but Alien X couldn't reverse the Annihilargh erasing everything because there was simply no time left to work with. Are you suggesting the "most powerful being in the universe" (-Serana) who "can do anything" (-Azmuth) and is "omnipotent" (-Professor Paradox)...can't roll back a temporal event? When Ben asks if they can do anything, Bellicus and Serana say that the universe no longer exists, which is the reason for their inability to merely go back a few seconds. There are no seconds to go back, while the Chronosapien Time Bomb was fired within an existent timeline which still had functioning linear time and could be reverted from within the universe itself. Just because Ben lacked Serana and Bellicus' shared knowledge of the state of the universe at the time doesn't mean he couldn't remake it if a motion passed to imbue him with the knowledge for it. I don't have it on me currently, but in the Alien X video the Ink Tank did there is a segment with author statements I believe was in the Man of Action part where it was stated that omniscience isn't allowed to Celestialsapiens due to the regulations they set for one another and themselves, so this failing to perceive everything on Ben's part is merely due to Bellicus and Serana having to do it for him (before he actually gets their permission to operate on his own) and opting to make a few adjustments to spite his lack of usage of Alien X.

I wanna point out that the omnitrix didn't even need to transform ben into something that can have its arm not cut off, they literally only would need to trigger a transformation where the omnitrix isn't in the arm (most transformations nowadays), then a Ben with a missing arm and master control can still quickly swap into alien X to restore the mutilated arm.

@@adamrolston526 I think you need to retype what you said because that was barely English, but assuming I understand what you tried to say, Dragon Ball's feats are wildly inconsistent, and ridiculously so, so making heads or tails of anything is almost impossible. Like how supposedly Beerus at 60% and SSG Goku going at it causes the entire universe to shake, and yet every fight which involves 2 people with higher power levels the world doesn't even violently shake the entire planet like we saw Goku do when he turns SS3 for the first time. Like SSB Goku or Vegeta vs Golden Freiza, or Vegeto vs Zamasu, or more recently Gotega vs Broly. The only exception to this is Goku vs Jiren during the Tournament of Power where they shook "infinite void", which makes about as much sense as Goku and Beerus supposedly making the universe shake yet somehow not destroying Earth despite being literally right next to it.
Also, the pulled out Alien X way to early, just imagine all the other fights they could have had with other aliens. (I now they have a graphics budget but they made expensive fights before). And I know it's a bit cheap but as Rooster Teeth, I think their favoritism to DC came into play again, I watch Hal Jordan stuff to but even I think that's excessive.

Well, I wouldn't say that they favor DC over everyone else. After all, some of their death battles have shown the DC characters losing their fights. I just think that, for this one, they just lacked the research and sources.
- Both Hal and Alien X have survived their respective ret-cons (Crisis and the Anialargh). Hal has stupid will power but so does Ben. They both have super intelligent AI's attached to their bodies. They both can travel faster than light. They both have incredibly versatile weapons. So Alien X trying to wipe Hal out of existence would inconvenience Hal because the ring would have to separate him from the timeline. Meanwhile, Hal going back and killing Ben before he transformed would have no effect on future battle Ben so long as he remained Alien X because Alien X is a timeless being that is separated from the universe's timeline. The battle would continue with both of those things being undone. - They are evenly matched with respect to the extent of their abilities because Hal has fought Multidimensional beings and won, but so has Ben. - It all comes down to 1 factor: the equipment that gives them their power and the state that it's in. Given the setup of the death battle, Ben had master control and Hal had a fully charged ring. Ben's power is limitless while Hal is on an energy limit. So that's in Ben's favor. Hal would have to convince Ben to stand down and remove the Omnitrix to win like Vilgax and Kevin VS Master Control Ben, which given the alterations that death battle makes to their personalities and that it's strictly 1V1, is unlikely. Ultimately the battle would continue until Hal's ring ran out of power. Ben would win because of that Achilles Heel. - There are other factors that I don't take into account, like the Omnitrix's ability to restore Ben's damaged body VS Hal not having any sort of healing abilities, or Hal's required concentration to keep a projection going (echo echo or the dream fairy anyone?). - I think their decision was based on what fandom they wanted to piss off more with the victory. If Ben won they'd have DC stans down their assess, which are admittedly far greater in number than Ben 10 stans.

In any case, Hal couldn't survive in a true void either, given there's no planes for him to exist on. So that would be an arbitrary argument. The ring might try to make a plane but it would consume all of it's power trying, and he'd die when the projection faded. Meanwhile Alien X's body is seemingly separated from his consciousness (I site the "Shared Alien X" thing, given that there is only one Alien X in the multiverse and all of the Bens share him simultaneously. This indicates the ability to be in multiple places at once, preserving his body and mind. If his body were to "die" from the absence of a plane to exist on, he'd have a body somewhere else to keep his consciousness). The point is, so long as Ben remains Alien X, Hal is going to have to be more creative than cutting Ben's arm off.
It's funny but the one thing that always bugged me about this video wasn't the fight itself but the reason behind it. Green Lanterns are peacekeepers across the galaxy, true, but ultimately they're a private police force run by the Guardians. Meanwhile, Ben is actually an officer in the Plumbers and, if I remember right, a surprisingly high ranking one at least for Earth and the Plumbers do have legal standing on Earth while the Green Lanterns legal standing on Earth is variable at best. Therefore, a non-legitimate LEO attacked an actual LEO with the intent to steal. The Plumbers would not take this very well, especially as while the Guardians are implied to be all but omniscient or some such, everyone still regards Azmuth as the smartest being in multiple galaxies including the one the Guardians live in - and they're stealing his property.
Someone write a fanfic of Hal getting into deep shit for not only killing one of the universe’s most important protectors but also stealing one of the most powerful devices among 5 of 7 galaxies because Hal’s a moron.

TBH I haven't watched any of the new Ben 10..the artstyle is just..bleh to me..and I only watched bits and pieces of the previous Ben 10..the OG version was my favorite especially when they showed Ben 10,000 and future Gwen. But just HEARING what all they said about Ben 10 and Alien X, and having seen a few of Ink Tanks Ben 10 vids under his previous name..I knew they screwed the pooch on this battle..and damn near every Ben10 fan knew it and no matter what the DC fans kept trying to refute it while knowing little to nothing about Ben 10..hell a DC fan and Fan of GL SPECIFICALLY mentioned even HE knew Hal should have lost this battle.

The thing about omnitrix overuse harming your DNA comes from the Feedback Arc, the Omniverse scene where Ben locks himself as some toad thing for 6 months, and the first battle with Albedo. These all imply together that misuse of the omnitrix and its transformations puts strain on Ben and will eventually effect his ability to transform normally.
I didn’t bother watching cuz I assumed it was OG Ben, and Hal would win. My friend told me Alien X was in it, and Hal won. I called major bullshit, but gave Death Battle the benefit of the doubt since I still wouldn’t watch it. TH-cam recommends me this video and I watch it out of curiosity. A lot of missed facts and contradictions were involved. Everything makes sense now.
To say GL won via time travel is literally stupid Alien X could Time Travel aswell and would stop GL from cutting off the Omnitrix from Ben's arm And even If GL did cut off Ben's arm,the Omnitrix would just re attach itself to Ben and make him transform into Alien X and erase Hal from existence
Once his arm was off, it was over. And no, he needs to manually acitvate it. Once it's not connected to Ben, it's powerless, as they said in a footnote, Vilgax tried doing that several times, and he would know its weaknesses.

NO, controlling time is VERY different from resisting time. On paper backed up by on-screen, they might be right about the last thing. Since Alien X HAS never shown to resist time effects (nothing in Ben 10 has suggested that the Celestialsapiens can resist time manipulation) before, this would obviously mean that he could not resist against GL's time manipulation.
The think the whole "overuse will morph the users DNA" was a misenterpretation of the point in the first series when Kevin 11 absorbs a bunch of energy from the omitrix and becomes a mutant hybrid of all of ben's first 10 aliens.

@@koalafromtomorrow5656 He "killed" Galvan as Cannonbolt, he refused to fix the watch and doomed the galaxy to be destroyed and this was right after Gwen supposedly died, so, pissed off he launched full speed into Galvan and obliterated his body. Turns out it was a robot shell and the real Galvan was a tiny alien piloting it, so he ultimately survived.

Technically no since it doesn't harm the user or kill them from blood loss it's something like energy seperating the 2 instead of just trying to kill Ben it didn't so the omnitrix did nothing until later in the episode we found out the omnitrix was controlling Ben's hand and made sure he got to someone Ben trusted, like juile then also showed that even though ben didn't touch the watch it can still be used for what it needs to be used for and that's to transform

He could possess him for even a few seconds and learn whatever he can about the ring, or he would be bounced away through sheer force of the ring. Oh and that that was the prototype Omnitrix not the official one used in Omniverse.

Honestly one of my biggest complaints is how they just generalized that 'each of ben's aliens have weaknesses'. Sure, but since each fighter is at their prime, their most powerful, that means that Ben has access to Master Control. That, in turn, means he could switch between Aliens with literally a thought. Remember when he got Master Control the first time? Imagine that but now with all the aliens he has access to now. Beyond that, Ben basically used only the classics. Sure they're the most recognizable, but they were severly limited him by not giving him his full arsenal. As for X? He got nerfed way too hard. I mean, he was practically a Dragon Ball character with the way he fought. Last I checked, X could do more than move really fast and hit really hard. Hell, same with the whole fight really. Couldn't Ben turn into Jetray, race at Hal, turn into Ghostfreak or Big Chill to phase through him, then turn into something to attack him from behind? I mean really, Ben offers up such potential for a cool fight and they just completely wasted it.

Then, seeing as how the ring doesn't have anything preventing it's removal (unlike the Omnitrix) Ben could easily switch to an alien capable of removing the ring from Hal's finger and he'd win instantly. Alternatively, since the ring is tech based, he could turn into Upgrade and hack into it. I saw Kuros 1st video speculating all the cool stuff they could do for the battle, then I watched this episode and you can hear the frustration and disappointment in his voice.
A frequent point I see users making is that Death Battle's animations are more-or-less irrelevant to the actual stakes of the battle. My argument is that the animation depicts actions and feats that do not accurately represent the character, and Death Battle themselves use these situations to justify their argument. They also did not utilize variables they had brought up themselves, such as Hal's limited ring charge, and Ben's Omnitrix being able to react on its own. To say the battle shouldn't be taken seriously when analyzing the episode is to say that none of the interactions in the battle have any sway in how Death Battle decides the winner, which is not the case.

Sed Donkus there are two problems with ppl who keep stating “the animation is only for fun” despite it being true. 1. This person isn’t complaining the results are inaccurate, he’s complaining that the fights are dull and do not represent the characters well. The fights are repetitive because they all act as DBZ fights and thus aren’t fun to watch for some ppl, so the fight doesn’t rly do anything for the viewer. 2. Even though the fights are just for show, that doesn’t mean that they can’t be inaccurate. GL beats Ben in a way that’s not possible and death battle claims to know that which makes the fight kinda dumb considering it’s not even a “possible outcome or representation” of what might happen. So ya even if the animation doesn’t count towards the result, that doesn’t mean it’s okay if it horribly misrepresents the characters

_That's_ why the ending rundowns in Death Battles can most times barely even have much to do with the animations and seem to just be random statements of strengths. It's because it's _not_ a rundown of the animation, it's a rundown of why one wins over the other, how one's stronger than the other, how one counters the other. In Ben vs Hal's video, they're _not_ talking about specific moments in the animation, they're talking about and emphasizing how everything that Ben has to offer, Hal simply has _better._ This is something Ink Tank doesn't seem to understand.
I mean, sure. You understand that the animations are invalid arguments, right? Then you must understand that arguing against them is just as invalid and pointless?
And yes, the fight animations aren't much, and they can very well just do the battles without them. Hell, you _can_ simply just skip them if they bug you so much. But, come on, now. If they removed them, they'd be just like every other unsuccessful nerd channel on youtube discussing and _only_ discussing, getting one or two thousand views per video. Are you really going to tell me there's not a significant part of their viewers who are just the general public tuning in and just skimming over the first half of the videos to get to the animations and the results?

It's also worth noting that Hal didn't beat Ben. He travelled back to before the fight started and killed an unprepared Ben. Not only is this a complete cop-out (Alien X could do the exact same thing), it goes to show that even Death Battle couldn't think of a way to beat Alien X. The Ben that was fighting Hal the entire time would just be standing there, wondering what happened. He never lost

A year later and I just realized Alien X’s time reversal puts Hal right before he recharges. That means Hal time traveled, cut off Ben’s arm, and stomped on him all on a decharged ring. I swear this battle just gets worse the more I think about it.

I'd say the biggest issue with fights like this is they pin a character with a mostly linear path of progression with characters with severely ranging feats from dozens, if not hundreds of comic books.
I do agree as well. And as you said a lot of the death battles usually have a character with a short amount of media vs one with a large amount, or one with a liner story vs one with a complex story. And sometimes if a character doesn't have many main feats they start to use some non cannon ones to make up for it.
A few examples would be like: John wick vs James bond, jotoro vs kenshiro, and master chief vs doom guy.

A speed feat I recently realized is that Alien X being able to create the universe means he was able to create the distance of the entire universe in about a second that is incredibly fast since his power had to travel the length of the universe in both directions.
I mean even before that alien X could just send him a trillion years in the past or into the future. Time moves how alien x wants it to move I would also assume distance does as well
plus he only did that with 3 of his cells or particles whatever, point is that means his true power is unknown, alien x is literally the doctor fate of cartoons.

Also, one older version of Ben had a "fusion" ability that combined aliens together. One fusion was combining an living nuclear reactor alien (basically absolute control over nuclear energy) and Alien X. This new form completely bypasses the multiple personalities, giving him full control over Alien X's powers although slightly weaker. Lots of little bits here and there.

My biggest problem (as it is with many DC battles) is they took feats and abilities from multiple versions of a character despite them having different abilities. Yes silver age Hal could time travel and have a bunch of other abilities, his constructs were never shown to be as powerful as the modern incarnation.

Big chill and Ghost freak can phase through almost all of Hal's attacks and Chromastone and Feedback can absorb all his energy attacks. Even being hit with an entire moon/planet would not be effective if you can't even touch the person you're trying to hit.
Manipulating time is also not useful if your opponent can also do it. And from how it looks, Ben can do it better as Clock work can travel to different timelines, travel forward and backwards in time and even undo destruction from multi timeline bomb

His changes are also incredibly fast and he can couple the effects together. So he could literally use multiple combinations of Aliens to out beat Hal. Upgrade alone could cause trouble for Hal since he and Megawatt can tamper with the ring. The ring is alien tech so why wouldn't an alien like upgrade be able to meet with it. Or even lobstar( think I got the name wrong) was able to pull apart technology from 25th dimension. Technology mind you that was on the same level as the omnitrix which was the most advance thing in Ben's universe

DB: Alien X had no defense against Green Lantern’s time travel even though he just time traveled about 5 seconds ago. Diamond Head’s durability is nowhere near as tough as Green Lantern’s unlike Alien X’s. Alien X couldn’t stop universal destruction even though another alien was able to absorb a Big Bang. Ben 10 had no defense against having his arm chopped off even though it actually happened in an episode. Alien X couldn’t destroy Green Lantern’ shield even though Four Arms could. Ben 10 could only use one form at a time even with the life support system (which is just BS). I could go on but we’d be here for hours.
Db has a habit of going with the word of God argument. It isnt an invalid argument, but it isnt the whole argument. But comparing a hero who's been around for 10 year to one that's been around for damn near 100, obviously one will have more extream feats under their belt.
Think of it like this. Each Green Lantern has done incredible feats, they are able to because they have the will power to do it like containing the big bang or surviving the crisis which was a muliversal erasure. Now Hal has defeated the god of will power or the very embodiment of will power, with his own will power. So that means he would be able to do this same feats or do them in a greater way.

That one time Hal traveled through time, he only traveled to the future and lost his memories because of it. Also that was pre-crisis, and it isn’t something Hal can just do. The more powerful things the ring can do often require extreme focus for example healing. Before Simon Baz it was stated to be impossible for someone to heal with the green ring, but with enough focus and will he did it.
This is what I'm talking about. Death battle literally just takes everything from any Canon and throws it onto superhero characters ignoring the fact that they are two very different characters.
There have been multiple instances of GL time travel. He time traveled to the year of 5707. He was able to rip a hole to 100,000,000 years ago. He can send others to different times and even his power beams to other times. He power-beamed both Flash and Reverse Flash through time. Hal can also disrupt the flow of time. Even on verge of death, he was able to stretch a nanosecond into eternity (1) (2). He was able to freeze time up to a thousand miles from a planet and was competitive with Parallax Hal who was a casual time-freezer.
Besides that Green Lanterns can create time as well. Hal created "chronal energy" and time. A flash of his consciousness was able to disrupt a time null zone. He was perfectly fine in a stasis field where time did not move. Green Lanterns can also destroy time. When the Time Trapper got a Green Lantern ring he destroyed all possible futures of Earth-1.

The problem of death battles using marvel/dc characters is that they’re such long running series. Back then it was all about saving the city but they needed to make the stakes higher each time that at one point they can’t make it higher. What do they do next? Reset the universe or retcon everything. Like one chapter superman could be beating up the writers because he’s “beyond the script” and next chapter he’d be getting beaten up by street thugs using an M9.

Even though I've never watched it, I knew from the title Ben would've win. While Hal is proficient with the ring's power, Ben had years of experience of each of his aliens and the Omnitrix. Even though Hal can go back in time, Clockwork and Alien X can do the same thing, especially since Clockwork once reversed a cosmic level destruction. While Hal can make anything, Ben's faster at transforming once the Master Control is active. Ben has over a million different ways to counter and overpower Hal. But no, we got Hal winning.
Death Battle didn’t go deep into the Ben 10 lore and power scale all aliens. They severely underestimated Alien X and his Nigh Omnipotent power scale and lowballed him to Universal + but in reality he’s actually at Complex Multiversal level. They made him 10 years old and held the Omnitrix he no longer used and simply misunderstood the failsafe. If they look back at the Ben 10 series finale with the Contemelila episode they’ve shown that with the Offical Omnitrix, Ben can’t die at all. Hal and his corps only killed Hyperversal being because Cosmic Armor Superman and the Miracle Machine had helped by severely weakened him. So technically Hal is nowhere near Nigh Omnipotent and Nigh Omniscient like Celestialsapiens. Once Ben transforms into Alien X it’s all over and not even a contest. Ben would simply exceed Hal in every single way.
Ben has never gone back in time with his aliens.
Clockwork removed the Sotobro Effect of the Chronosapien Time Bomb, he literally states this.
The Big Bang is slower than Alien X, who is slower than Green Lantern.

At no point is it said that he needs all 3 to agree to have full power over Alien X, and you're just pulling the time travel bit out of nowhere. In the episode after Ben is given full control over Alien X, he's shown to immediately be able to act fluidly and without deliberation, showing he has total control as long as Serena and Bellicus don't revoke their permission to him (which they won't if it actually comes down to fighting a potential threat to their existence). Alien X himself exists outside of time and space despite being able to act upon it, shown by his actions occurring within the universe proper. Nevertheless he outright is able to move in a timeless void later on, showing that he has infinite speed and movement capabilities.
That line you picked for your last point is *before* Ben convinces the personalities to transfer control of Alien X to him when he's using the form. Ben worked with them to recreate everything because at that point he'd not secured their passive acceptance of his actions yet. No power comes from Serana or Bellicus in of themselves, or else Aggreggor would have nothing to gain from absorbing an infant Celestialsapien.
If Ben loses because of a for-entertainment show determining off of cherrypicked data and feats that determines that Hal can defeat gods and Ben is just a kid with a dumb watch, then anyone can write a story where Hal loses and it'll be equally if not more valid depending on the information they use.

Alien X does not exist outside of time and space. The Forge of Creation and all universes exist in the black space. Time still functioned there. If it didn't, then Prof. Paradox wouldn't be able to function. When the Annihilarrg destroyed the universe, there was nothing but a black void. Time still existed. So why didn't Alien X just rewind time back to before the destruction. Answer, HE couldn't. Belacus even stated it was TOO LATE.

He needs their permission to even de-transform initially, and once he's given control over the form, he's seen to do that and anything else he desires with relative ease. It's always a matter of permission, and we see that he retains their permission to act when in a later episode he uses Alien X freely and can move fluidly without the need to deliberate. If he has the power, that's it, he can do anything he can conceptualize. Also, when is Time Travel stated to be impossible for Alien X? We see devices like the Time Cycles used to travel both throughout time and *outside* of time, as they're able to travel to before the Universe is made (if the logic you used for black space representing the existence of time is correct, then this white void naturally would imply a lack of time, yet things are still able to happen there). Even Chronosapiens can travel throughout time and reverse its effects. Are you going to tell me that a reality warper can only ever do what they're shown explicitly to do on screen? What would be the specifics of this, would he not even be able to use attacks in a different context than he was shown doing it by this logic? Ben is shown to never engage in actions that are needless or overboard and instead to operate within the bounds of what matches the situation. This is why he doesn't just go Way Big all the time and smoosh anyone he fights.
Yes, most of his actions as Alien X have been done before by other aliens. Perhaps this is a failing of creativity either on Ben or the writers' part, or this is simply because Ben has far too many aliens and has used too many powers over the series for something to have gone undone prior. Alien X fights like a reality warper would, shifting and altering things at will rapidly in order to guarantee his enemies are thrown off balance. Ben not doing some fancy new trick (although arguably creating a vortex that sucks in the Gladiator is somewhat original even if it involves Gravity Manipulation and resembles making a black hole (something he did in a *later* episode as Gravattack, mind you)) doesn't mean he can't do it, just that he didn't want or need to.
Recreating the universe would be, like you said, time reversal. Time reversal is something he can do in a selective area or overall. If a natural, peak Chronosapien can un-erase INFINITE universes, then there's no reason a Celestialsapien, who's said time and time again by extremely intelligent and knowledgeable beings like Professor Paradox, Azmuth, and even Serena to be functionally omnipotent (the first using the term omnipotent to describe Aggregor if he acquires a Celestialsapien without personalities, the second claimed they could do anything, and the third implied consensus was all that was needed to do effectively anything (although logic violation seems to be an exception I'll get into shortly)) would be unable to do the same. The erasure of Infinite-1 universes by the Chronosapien Time Bomb was able to be reversed as a temporal event, but Alien X couldn't reverse the Annihilargh erasing everything because there was simply no time left to work with. Are you suggesting the "most powerful being in the universe" (-Serana) who "can do anything" (-Azmuth) and is "omnipotent" (-Professor Paradox)...can't roll back a temporal event? When Ben asks if they can do anything, Bellicus and Serana say that the universe no longer exists, which is the reason for their inability to merely go back a few seconds. There are no seconds to go back, while the Chronosapien Time Bomb was fired within an existent timeline which still had functioning linear time and could be reverted from within the universe itself. Just because Ben lacked Serana and Bellicus' shared knowledge of the state of the universe at the time doesn't mean he couldn't remake it if a motion passed to imbue him with the knowledge for it. I don't have it on me currently, but in the Alien X video the Ink Tank did there is a segment with author statements I believe was in the Man of Action part where it was stated that omniscience isn't allowed to Celestialsapiens due to the regulations they set for one another and themselves, so this failing to perceive everything on Ben's part is merely due to Bellicus and Serana having to do it for him (before he actually gets their permission to operate on his own) and opting to make a few adjustments to spite his lack of usage of Alien X.

I wanna point out that the omnitrix didn't even need to transform ben into something that can have its arm not cut off, they literally only would need to trigger a transformation where the omnitrix isn't in the arm (most transformations nowadays), then a Ben with a missing arm and master control can still quickly swap into alien X to restore the mutilated arm.
Or a liquid alien to reattach the arm.
or just back to ben as the watch works on host dna and not physical condition, so an alien could loose a limb and he'd turn back to ben but still have it.
Or just one that can regenerate like Chromastone or Swampfire

Like how supposedly Beerus at 60% and SSG Goku going at it causes the entire universe to shake, and yet every fight which involves 2 people with higher power levels the world doesn't even violently shake the entire planet like we saw Goku do when he turns SS3 for the first time. Like SSB Goku or Vegeta vs Golden Freiza, or Vegeto vs Zamasu, or more recently Gotega vs Broly. The only exception to this is Goku vs Jiren during the Tournament of Power where they shook "infinite void", which makes about as much sense as Goku and Beerus supposedly making the universe shake yet somehow not destroying Earth despite being literally right next to it.
Ben 10 vs Green Lantern is probably the worst Death Battle I've ever seen. And it's crazy how many people disliked it, and I agree big time.
Also, the pulled out Alien X way to early, just imagine all the other fights they could have had with other aliens. (I now they have a graphics budget but they made expensive fights before). And I know it's a bit cheap but as Rooster Teeth, I think their favoritism to DC came into play again, I watch Hal Jordan stuff to but even I think that's excessive.
I was prepared for Ben to lose when I saw him turn into his strongest alien so early in the fight.

- Both Hal and Alien X have survived their respective ret-cons (Crisis and the Anialargh). Hal has stupid will power but so does Ben. They both have super intelligent AI's attached to their bodies. They both can travel faster than light. They both have incredibly versatile weapons.
So Alien X trying to wipe Hal out of existence would inconvenience Hal because the ring would have to separate him from the timeline. Meanwhile, Hal going back and killing Ben before he transformed would have no effect on future battle Ben so long as he remained Alien X because Alien X is a timeless being that is separated from the universe's timeline. The battle would continue with both of those things being undone.
- They are evenly matched with respect to the extent of their abilities because Hal has fought Multidimensional beings and won, but so has Ben.
- It all comes down to 1 factor: the equipment that gives them their power and the state that it's in.
Given the setup of the death battle, Ben had master control and Hal had a fully charged ring. Ben's power is limitless while Hal is on an energy limit. So that's in Ben's favor. Hal would have to convince Ben to stand down and remove the Omnitrix to win like Vilgax and Kevin VS Master Control Ben, which given the alterations that death battle makes to their personalities and that it's strictly 1V1, is unlikely.
Ultimately the battle would continue until Hal's ring ran out of power. Ben would win because of that Achilles Heel.
- There are other factors that I don't take into account, like the Omnitrix's ability to restore Ben's damaged body VS Hal not having any sort of healing abilities, or Hal's required concentration to keep a projection going (echo echo or the dream fairy anyone?).
- I think their decision was based on what fandom they wanted to piss off more with the victory. If Ben won they'd have DC stans down their assess, which are admittedly far greater in number than Ben 10 stans.

The annighlargh seems more like a universe clean slate, otherwise there would be no way ben and rook could survive in an area lacking spacetime

In any case, Hal couldn't survive in a true void either, given there's no planes for him to exist on. So that would be an arbitrary argument. The ring might try to make a plane but it would consume all of it's power trying, and he'd die when the projection faded. Meanwhile Alien X's body is seemingly separated from his consciousness (I site the "Shared Alien X" thing, given that there is only one Alien X in the multiverse and all of the Bens share him simultaneously. This indicates the ability to be in multiple places at once, preserving his body and mind. If his body were to "die" from the absence of a plane to exist on, he'd have a body somewhere else to keep his consciousness). The point is, so long as Ben remains Alien X, Hal is going to have to be more creative than cutting Ben's arm off.

It's funny but the one thing that always bugged me about this video wasn't the fight itself but the reason behind it. Green Lanterns are peacekeepers across the galaxy, true, but ultimately they're a private police force run by the Guardians. Meanwhile, Ben is actually an officer in the Plumbers and, if I remember right, a surprisingly high ranking one at least for Earth and the Plumbers do have legal standing on Earth while the Green Lanterns legal standing on Earth is variable at best. Therefore, a non-legitimate LEO attacked an actual LEO with the intent to steal. The Plumbers would not take this very well, especially as while the Guardians are implied to be all but omniscient or some such, everyone still regards Azmuth as the smartest being in multiple galaxies including the one the Guardians live in - and they're stealing his property.
Someone write a fanfic of Hal getting into deep shit for not only killing one of the universe’s most important protectors but also stealing one of the most powerful devices among 5 of 7 galaxies because Hal’s a moron.

The thing about omnitrix overuse harming your DNA comes from the Feedback Arc, the Omniverse scene where Ben locks himself as some toad thing for 6 months, and the first battle with Albedo. These all imply together that misuse of the omnitrix and its transformations puts strain on Ben and will eventually effect his ability to transform normally.
I didn’t bother watching cuz I assumed it was OG Ben, and Hal would win.

NO, controlling time is VERY different from resisting time. On paper backed up by on-screen, they might be right about the last thing. Since Alien X HAS never shown to resist time effects (nothing in Ben 10 has suggested that the Celestialsapiens can resist time manipulation) before, this would obviously mean that he could not resist against GL's time manipulation.

Turns out it was a robot shell and the real Galvan was a tiny alien piloting it, so he ultimately survived.

Honestly one of my biggest complaints is how they just generalized that 'each of ben's aliens have weaknesses'. Sure, but since each fighter is at their prime, their most powerful, that means that Ben has access to Master Control. That, in turn, means he could switch between Aliens with literally a thought. Remember when he got Master Control the first time? Imagine that but now with all the aliens he has access to now. Beyond that, Ben basically used only the classics. Sure they're the most recognizable, but they were severly limited him by not giving him his full arsenal. As for X? He got nerfed way too hard. I mean, he was practically a Dragon Ball character with the way he fought. Last I checked, X could do more than move really fast and hit really hard. Hell, same with the whole fight really. Couldn't Ben turn into Jetray, race at Hal, turn into Ghostfreak or Big Chill to phase through him, then turn into something to attack him from behind? I mean really, Ben offers up such potential for a cool fight and they just completely wasted it.
Jetray is to slow , Hal can force Ghost Freak out , and I think he could just will himself to punch Big Chill idk
@@l0sts0ul89 Last I checked I believe Jetray is capable of interstellar travel, so I'm fairly certain he could keep up with GL in terms of speed. I do agree it's highly unlikely Ghostfreak could possess Hal, but phasing through him should be a piece of cake, same with Big Chill.
Then, seeing as how the ring doesn't have anything preventing it's removal (unlike the Omnitrix) Ben could easily switch to an alien capable of removing the ring from Hal's finger and he'd win instantly. Alternatively, since the ring is tech based, he could turn into Upgrade and hack into it. He may be forced out quick, but it'd be enough time for him to at least figure out the basics of how it works. Ben DOES have a photographic memory

Nah Jetray is fast but not trillions of times faster than light , hell Hal is fast enough to break into the Speed Force
The ring does have features to prevent hacking and stuff so it might not work. I dont think Upgrade could be able to comprehend The Ring since someone like Dr Manhattan didn't even know what it was or how it worked until he broke it down.
And I don't think getting rid of his ring would worn since he can just call it back and iirc the ring is a part of Hal made from his own willpower.
Making a GL ring is equal to if Ben made the Omnitrix.

Also Hal technical cheated since in cannon his power ring was shown the ability to time travel and to affect yellow objects it one always one or the other never both I found this out by the Inktank debunk video so I looked it up and their were right

If your faster then the omnitrix then it wont protect them even the ring can protect its weilder since it could have pulled hal away from alien x punch
@@MissAshley101 the omnitrix reacted to the big bang. There is nothing Hal can do,no matter how fast he is to ooutdo the failsafe. The omnitrix reacted to the very thing that created the concepts of space and time,since that's what the big bang is. And even then as the video states alien x wouldn't let him anyway
Hal can can react to the Spectre light swords attacks which move faster then time itself and his ring was able to stop the swords and redrict it back so no ben still loses
@@MissAshley101 GL out speeding the Omnitrixs' protection failsafe doesn't even matter, cause the Omnitrix could construct Ben a new body after he died anyways.

Leonis Yggdrasil you’re mistaking Kuro the Artist with Death Battle because Death Battle are the people that say Superman and Green Lantern always wins a fight because they’re Superman and Green Lantern whereas Kuro the Artist gives out sound and logical reasons as to why Ben 10 would win against Green Lantern.
