Reading this literally made me imagine the Omnitrix saying: “Ben, if you choose Humungousaur or Feedback one more time... I’m going to delete all the fucking alien dna I have and you can go searching the cosmos for it😐. Who knows maybe you’ll learn to appreciate some *other* species while you’re at it.😒”
Ultimately there are 3 reasons in total: 1. The one Azmuth gives, that being that because Ben keeps slamming on the Omnitrix, he keeps sending it into random select mode by accident 2. The Omnitrix has a program that activates when Ben is in life threatening danger, that then forces itself to cycle through his transformations in order to find the one most fitting for the task at hand, with the exception of Alien X who is straight up broken 3. Using one alien form too much and too often can not only cause addiction, but it can seriously mess with the user's DNA. Which is why the time limit exists as well and why even future Ben doesn't use Master Control.
Also they needed a reason to make sure future ben wasnt a omnipotent universe destroying/building god by being able to become any living creature at any moment he wanted with no consequences
There's one scene in Omniverse I feel is relevant. Ben wants to turn into XLR8 to put out a house fire, but gets Rath instead. This time, however, it very clearly shows Ben dialing up Rath's icon on the wheel. So his own clumsiness may have a role.
He's got shitty transformation habits from his childhood, huh? He has dialed a random form, called and prayed for a transformation, and just roll with it. Done that for years till it became part of him. Now on reflex, he does it still, even tho the watch is fixed. Never putting the effort in to retrain his reflexes for hero time.
I think that: If Ben turns his watch one time to the left and two or three times to the right, he gets, let's say, stinkfly. If he turns his watch two times to the left and two times to the right, he gets heatblast. I think, that if it were to work on different amounts of rotations and stuff, it'd be much more interesting.
The watch picks the alien that has the highest probability of winning, the only time Ben gets the alien he wants is because accidentally pick the correct one what's the highest probability based on the Omnitrix calculations. ( original) As Ben gets older and has more experience with the Omnitrix, he's able to correctly assess which alien that has highest probability since he Is now better at assessing the battle.
Enderblaze Animations makes sense. It’s like the omnitrix goes with what’s best by its calculations unless what Ben wants is required or if there isn’t a successful outcome that the omnitrix can see
Omnitrix was made for higher intelligence being like azmuth so he can select any alien he needed not for a kid. So omnitrix was made to adapt to the owner since it was going to a lower intelligence being (grandpa max). Unfortunately it went to ben and so ur theory is on point.
I really do like the "stop slamming it down" explanation. So simple, makes so much sense, and he really does do that like 90% of the time. Another thing to think about is that the Alien Force Omnitrix recalibrated TO BEN, so maybe in that iteration it compensated for the slamming, while the Omniverse one, (being at "factory default") would not.
I like that compensation theory. But wasn't the new official omnitrix created specifically for Ben that Azmuth worked on since he got the prototype? You'd think he'd put Ben's slamming habit into consideration
@@FG-nd3ue Azmuth did say he expected more finesse, he probably figured it wasn't worth the time when all Ben would have to do is just be gentle, like, how dummy proof does he need to make something?
I think at least part of the issue in Omniverse is that Ben just.. doesn’t look, or doesn’t recognize the stylized icons. There’s a scene where we see that Ben clearly selects Rath’s icon, then gets upset that he got Rath.
In Omniverse, Ben doesn't even select an alien half the time, he just activates the dial, hopes for the best and slams it down without even looking at it
@@pytha7 I think ben thinks the watch selects aliens via voice activation which is why he always yells out the aliens name without even looking at the watch.
@@triplecrosscounter hmm pretty good theory for that but whats if its works like this.So the omnitrix store and pull out the DNA when transfrom/untranforms but i fact its also stord their user DNA,its could give the user good tierlist without thinking of it, its could automatic change and replace aliens DNA and you know when in danger, the omitrix will depends on what kinds of danger or problems he/she gettig in so its could chose an alien for thats and can fast tranforms them even if hey dont take a look at it example: wecould see it clearly in originals whe ben almost get fried he turned into heatblast immediately
It definitely seems like ben assumed the watch was voice activated and never thought to rethink that assumption just like how he never thought to not smack it so hard even after he was told it was causing issues
There is the case that Ben goes through the Omnitrix through muscle memory. And then forgets he didn't reset the Omnitrix wheel to default so he picks the alien 2-3 rows up and not the right one
And that can be explained away with this. After all relying on just one alien (or presumably, a small handful) would be bad for him. So the Omnitrix is choosing other aliens so Ben doesn't have that problem as offten.
Ben Tennyson gets the wrong Alien because Azmuth programmed it to give him Aliens based on the situation. In the episode where Ben’s hand was severed from him the Omnitrix was self aware. But when Ben gets master control he never gets the wrong Alien. This is because when Azmuth gives him Master Control he trust that Ben will choose the right Alien and is Mature enough to use it correctly.
@@frankspick7544 When assessing the truth, we examine multiple cases and form an opinion based on the most common result, not the exceptions. 9 times out of 10, when the watch 'glitched out', it gave Ben an alien that was more suited to the situation, or more suited to the general situation. For example, Ripjaws might have been a better choice to fight in the water, but XLR8 was the better choice for fighting on water and land simultaneously, as he could sprint on water as well as land, while Ripjaws was slow on land. Out of all the times Ben transformed into the wrong alien, you can count the times he transformed into an alien useless for the situation on one hand In the OG show. I can't speak for the rest
@@m.x.o.7559 in Ultimate Alien the ultimatrix kept turning ben into rath no matter what he wanted at times so it wasn't like he hated rath but i mean i agree with kevin rath is one of those aliens you just wanna sit back and watch him do his work
If you look at the end of The More Things Change Part 2, Ben tries to turn into Humungousaur and turns into Spidermonkey. If you look at the Omnitrix in that scene, Spidermonkey’s icon is the one selected. This leads me to believe that sometimes, the mistransformations in Omniverse are actually just Ben not paying attention to what alien he’s choosing.
That also happened at least twice in UAF. Ben wasn't looking those times (both times on the Goop hologram when wanting Way Big and Rath) while with the omniverse display some are hard to distinguish
@@krspaceT1 Yeah, I agree. Especially since the AF Omnitrix gave Ben a full hologram of the alien while Omniverse Omnitrix only gave Ben the head of the alien, and they were as small as a finger nail.
yah, I can't remember when, and who it was. but that 100% did happen. he said, "let's go with blah blah blah", selected the wrong alien on the dial, and transformed into said wrong alien. so..yah, ben is just blind
Rewatching Omniverse, I also noticed he selects Rath at the beginning of “Many Happy Returns,” while wanting XLR8 and yells at the Omnitrix, despite how it gave him what he selected... I think Ben just doesn’t know which icon is which...
My theory is that the Omnitrix is able to acknowledge the situation Ben’s in and probably chooses the proper Alien for the fight, where some situations Ben chooses the same one?
But it dosent make sense sometimes tho, like he turns into ribjaws In a fight where he was thousands of miles away from water, like he barley even survives because there was a firetruck nearby with a water hose
@@SevenZeroEleven wasn't there a fountain to be found at the location Ben eventually arrived at? (On top of that, the species Ripjaws is accociated with is stronger when they are in contact with water?) But I digress, the reason for my theory is because recall the situation where Ben broke the Omnitrix and he could be two aliens at the same time. One of which being Ripjaws + Heatblast. In that situation, Ben did struggle in surviving the flames as a fist but over came the optical by making the water boiling hot. Ben had to adapt to what the Omnitrix gave him. You could argue that the omnitrix gave him that because it was broken but that would explain some of the other times when Ben didn't get what he wanted and he still adapted to them.
Ben was a kid, with a hero mentality, making him reckless and usually entering dangerous situations with little caution and foresight. The watch chooses for him the alien with the most effective and efficient method of defeating the opponent, cos guess what, smashing everything and brute strength ain't gonna cut it most times. The omnitrix is the most versatile weapon/tool in the ben10 universe
To add on, since the watch *knows* Ben it has a better access to his past experiences than Ben in the moment, thus it knows Ben will know how to deal with it
With a name like "Omnitrix", literally Omni (all) and Trix (Tricks, but corrupted) it better have a trick for just about any situation. Otherwise Azimuth might be guilty of false advertising.
One thing to note is that in one episode of omniverse, where future Animo was helping current day animo to break out of prison, Future Animo was able to correctly predict that ben would transform into the wrong alien, down to having a way to combat that alien specificly (upgrade, in this case), considering animo worked with a peice of the omnitrix itself, and how the future tends to warp at times if the various future bens are to go by, or at least alternate timelines thereof, it's not too much of a stretch to assume he was able to crack the code to how these mistransformations work, and thus prove it isn't purely random.
Good theory. This also explains why Ben gets new aliens (like Canonball or Ditto) at some instances: Ben: "I wanna be * Alien *!" Omnitrix:"I hear ya and understand, but I've noticed that you've used that one quite often lately. Perhaps you'd like to try another? See if you like it?"
i think that is most likely because one of the uses of the watch is to function as a data base for life forms. Ben got cannonball as a result of his race going extinct cause of the alien tick. So i guess its so that the watch would be able to revive the race when the time is right
So pretty Massey almond chick is like hum something like I like symbiote mixes Ironman stack and alien Tech a bit in the Tosh on Ben's on This Is Us on the understanding how on hearing it and it's like a symbiote they both know each other like Venom and Eddie and somewhere like on my Powers they like I'm Rogue I like chickens are powers that Auditors has powers of its own with it so they both need each other ultris kids the bends the aliens in the transform to survive and save the day will band takes care of the army fix take care of it saying supernaw magic strong man or the second thing is he understands the only tricks knows better than him cuz both of them are sharing costs because he'll want like a symbiote Venom like thing on its armed mixed with some technology in Alien Tech weld aliens Venom in The Tech is like tech
I remember in omniverse, Ben was chasing a bad guy so he had to go xlr8 but the omnitrix told him to use clock-work. He would’ve used clock-work to reverse time and then stop him. I think the omnitrix is very smart on bens hard situation.
@@KhanhNguyen-mh5ec and the Omnitrix thought "what the fuck man? Why do i even have a dial if you're not gonna look at it?? Fuck you. You'll have to work around this"
But reversing time changes reality which would make ben meet professor paradox who would say not to fuck with time, and second reason going to galactical court for messing with reality, like ben did using alien x to create new universe
Its simple No watch Ben broke the omnitrix by hitting it to have Ben classic get the omnitrix it so it lands near him, thus, creating timeline b but that gve the omnitrix a few glitches
Which still isn't an explanation. That's just the reason it's there, not a canon explanation. All things in fiction can (and should) have both a reason and an explanation.
We know that Omnitrix *can* learn about who people are. It knew to seek out Julie, Kevin, and Gwen when it was operating Ben’s hand. This shows that it 1: can recognize people and voices 2: can recognize their relationships with Ben and intentions 3: remembers places they often are and where it should go to find them, and how to get there This alone says a lot about the Omnitrix’s intelligence
Really it’s correct on this remember when he first pushed it in the first season’s episode he transformed into four arms without problem but after he started slamming and not thinking
One little bit I always considered somewhat interested about the master control even in the original, it's capable to determining what alien Ben is referring to even though they're essentially nicknames and Ben often doesn't actually KNOW the actual name of the species he's transforming into.
going back to the possible neurological connection Ben may share with the Watch, Ben may be thinking of an Alien. And the watch is picking up on this, the declaration of a nickname may be Ben's way to inform the watch of what he wants without knowing their scientific name. Kind of like renaming a file to something catchier so you know what it is at a glance. I wish Albedo did this when turning into a human, like he knows we classify ourselves as Human, but then gives his transformation a nickname. I think "SweatApe" works, long distance running is our super power after all
I find it great that, as a kid, Ben only wants to use aliens like fourarms XLR8 and heatblast, because theyre strong and cool. But by the omnitrix forcing Ben to use other aliens, it causes him to learn and grow is and is a genius development.
About the broken Omnitrix still showing green: As an electronic technician, there are TONS of machines that report an A-Clear output and but get fatal errors later on. The Ultimatrix might have got partial damage, and the damaged components that cause random transformations aren't vital, as the device can still correct the selected species in a pinch IF that is needed.
Similarly because while most of the Ultimatrix is Azmuths work, a fair portion of it is Albedo's tinkering to put in the evolutionary simulation and transformation function. Without a full working lab and being trapped in the form of a human, I would imagine Albedo make some sacrifices for the sake of getting revenge sooner.
“Part of the omntrix become Ben” is true in away as azmth explains that the watch was intended for max but as they share the same DNA the watch immediately attached to ben
Azmuth : Get out of boy you stupid watch Ominitrix : No Azmuth : What if I give you smoothie and french fry Omintrix : make it double and add hamburger Azmuth : You hag out with this kid too much .
I'd have to say the reason is pretty simple, Ben always manages to make whatever alien is given to him work, no matter what. Prime example, when he went up against Ghostfreak after he escaped the omnitrix and they were in space (Pretty sure Ben was going for four arms at one point) he was turned into Grey Matter by the omnitrix. Now you've said it yourself, it appears as though the omnitrix can see. And that would make sense, because when it scans aliens for DNA, the scanner always is pointed at the alien in question, Ben doesn't manually aim it, he just holds the side of the omnitrix close, and it scans them perfectly. Now, if it can see, what's to say that in the fight with Ghostfreak, it didn't see the tools Ben could use to fight Ghostfreak, and just "Hm, Grey Matter can build a Sun Gun and give you a fighting chance" not to mention, seems it always had the failsafe to save Ben's life, when Ghostfreak first escaped the omnitrix and fought Ben, he learned he couldn't merge with any of Ben's aliens, so he waited for the omnitrix to time out and immediently tried possessing Ben, but the omnitrix, despite being timed out, turned him into Grey Matter, and Ghostfreak was forced to cough Ben up. So, long winded, and a few examples given, but my point here is, I think the omnitrix has always just looked at a situation and was like "Hm, *this* should be a better alien than the one you dialed in." So more over, I'm saying the omnitrix always just did its best and chose the right alien for the job, if it thought Ben chose the wrong alien.
All in all, this is a pretty tight theory. My thought was that sometimes as he was slamming down on the Omnitrix, a slight twisting of his right hand could've unintentionally turned the dial to a different alien before it was fully activated, almost like fat fingers on a touchscreen.
I wish I remembered which episode, but there was just one Omniverse ep that I thought I saw exactly this happen. There's definitely also times in both this and UAF in which he clearly has the wrong alien selected before he even slams down.
also he often turns into Heat blast when he wants to turn in to four arms and turns into rath when he wants to turn in humungousaur...implying that he accidentally switched to the next alien.
The omnitrix is its own form of intelligence, right? So it assesses the situation and decides which alien is best for that situation; it, half the time, agrees with Ben.
But like any A.I it still can make mistakes and choose the wrong one as well. Like if Ben chose an Alien the Omnitrix knew wouldn't work, crunched numbers but forgot to carry the two and picked a different, but still not situationally appropriate Alien
He is greatly missed, and my favorite comic book writer of all time. Also, he gave us the best version of Ben. He made him mature and strategic. The other Bens are clowns.
yep it's Kevin experiment that breaks it and in UA it was albedo's knock-off, and in omniverse ben just isn't looking when selecting the alien, you can see it in many episodes the alien is right, he just says he wants a different one
@Excelsior The writers changed it due to the network and some people saying that a more cocky and childish ben would be better so they decided to make the change in season 3.
I think I can explain the green eyes and green badge on the aliens. Remember during the “Universe vs Tennyson” episode, where they exclaimed that Alien X's species changed the universe several times, and even showed off the difference designs of Azmuth from OG, AF, and Omniverse. Well, there you go. They probably changed the universe during the time-skip in-between series.
ah yes, oh and btw Ben could've gotten away with it if someone had pointed out that Mr. Smoothie's could have made a change to their recipe only noticeable to Ben's keen taste
No I think that explains why Ben's aliens had orange eyes at first, but green eyes later on. But the clothes were built in by Azmuth so that the aliens don't go naked, and the badge is probably a change in design put there by Azmuth in the final Omnitrix.
I think at first the watch picked the "random aliens" based on the situation at hand. It probably thought Ben's choices wouldn't be useful at the given situation.
That rule only applies to the original series, which was done incredibly well. Not so much in Alien Force season 3, unfortunately. It was just poorly done. They brought back Ben's immaturity, timing out, and wrong alien gimmick to "feel" like Ben in the original series. So much for development
When i was a kid I was famous in school and the neighborhood for being the kid who know the name of all the aliens in ben 10, I was so proud of that, and I'm steal proud
I always figured that the omnitrix was just smarter to Ben in The first series. Ben would make a choice and the watch would be like “nah I’m calling an audible because you’re an incompetent child”. Then when Ben matured and developed enough to do the job properly, it stopped. Then he broke it again
in danger case its tur him into smthg really useful but his brain belike: heatblast?i want dimond head ( literally getting fired and heatblast have fire resitant )
That last idea is an interesting one and there is a character that leans into this theory: Albedo. Consider this. In the episode where Albedo is introduced, they establish that when Ben first got the Omnitrix and sampled his dna into the Codon Stream. Ben's DNA became the template for a human. So if anyone else created an Omnitrix, with a human setting then it would default to Ben unless given otherwise (example being Eunice)
I don't think that's quite what happens I'm sure if another species was an omnitrix wielder, it would give us a peak human Albedo tried to use the omnitrix while actively being used, so it turned him into the current user
@@jacob3988 the omnitrix uses the DNA of whatever creature from each species it has scanned, and Ben was the first human it scanned, and Albedo purposely put the strongest of each species inside the omnitrix except for humans, maybe because he thought humans weren't worth it?
Let me clear the confusion, the ultimatrix makes a perfect copy of the alien that was put in, all of the other Omnitrix make a peak version thats the same age as the user, this is likely due to the ultimatrix being not just rushed but overall not finished by azmuth, the ultimatrix had Ben's dna, a perfect copy with its colors swapped would still look like ben, if any alien took the omnitrix, theyd transform into a peak human, which probably would resemble ben 10k with the biomnitrix, as he's canonically enlightened
I seem to recall an episode where it’s explained that bens DNA wouldn’t have been able to handle that selection at that moment and the watch selects something close to the request but not going to do damage to bens DNA. It’s a safety feature.
@@TEMPOZ5127 To be fair just because they’re not closely related physically doesn’t mean their DNA isn’t closely related. For example chickens are the animal that is most closely related to The T Rex and they don’t physically resemble each other at all.
In the last episode he said that he always gets the fight alien for the job, even if it's not the one he wanted. It's like the omnitrix knew him better than he knew himself. Like the video said
To me it sounds like him hitting the omnitrix makes it so the time-out function goes haywire, making many aliens basically forced to go on a cooldown timer. This usually results in the alien that Ben wanted to become timed out, and thus the omnitrix defaults to a different selection that isn’t on the cooldown timer. It’s like a hotkey that controls multiple uses of an ability - you can use one at a time, but afterwards they go on separate cooldowns.
This makes a lot of sense to me. It explains why Azmuth brought up the timer function to begin with; he was giving some more insight so he could continue into why the alien was randomized, but since he got distracted he couldn't finish the thought. Though I like to think this works in tandem with the AI explanation, in the cases when his alien isn't selectable the omnitrix then makes what it thinks the next best selection would be from those available.
it would also explain why he almost always transforms into one of his lesser used aliens, because his go tos are the ones hes more likely to have used recently and thus still be on cooldown
@@thesymbiotenation.4552 ehhh...not something I would think, but still imagine that, Azmuth being all Victor Frankenstein if he made his own ultimatrix screaming "IT'S ALIVE! ALIVE! I HAD OUTBESTED ALBEDO!"
In showdown part 1 Asmith states that overusing one alien will have detrimental effects in controling other forms, combine that with the slams causing random timeouts... Ben's attitude on not using Feedback as much probably made Asmith put a safeguard to prevent that. Furthermore, before meeting Asmith for the first time the omnitrx was calibrated for Max... and Ben does fiddle with the controls either could have caused the initial randomization problems.
When I didn't know that the aliens were just DNA Samples I tought that it was sort of a Pokemon kind of thing, like he choosing the alien and the alien not wanting to answer his call Edit:Yo-Kai Watch type of situation
I feel like the Omnitrix wants Ben to use forms it selects to have him plan and think with the ones he doesn't get to choose, use their abilities in any situation and be able to adapt to the forms it picks, not always what Ben wants to select.
I kind of suspected since the 3rd season of the OG series that the watch always gave him the right form for the situation based on how convenient the "wrong" transformation always wins in the end, like it was no glitch or accident.
Like how Jerry from Totally Spies seems to give the girls completely random gadgets each mission, but they seem perfectly suited to solve whatever problems come up
I want to add something, the Omnitrix in the OG series and Alien Force are the same. While the one in Omniverse is a new Omnitrix. So you can make the conclusion that the Omnitrix was supposed to have the badge on the center of the body but had a glitch in the OG series and was updated to not do that anymore. While in Omniverse, Azmuth made the new Omnitrix to have the badge in random places. As to why, I don't know, maybe he just likes it.
The 'badge' are in not in random places. For example, Goop in AF and UA has the badge on his chest, which means you can steal the Omnitrix from him through removing the 'badge' from his chest, we saw Ben do just that when Vilgax managed to take the Omnitrix (or was it the Ultimatrix? I can't remember). Azmuth most likely knew that that can be dangerous, so you see Omniverse Goop having the 'badge' placed on his UFO thingy instead of his chest.
Ben: so your a watch made by a master mind right Omnitrix: yup Ben: so in the completed version of you should work properly right Omnitrix: yup Ben: and you have a built in dial right Omnitrix: yup Ben: so give me the right alien Omnitrix: Greymatter take it or leave it
2:13, so, yeah, I caught it too- Azmuth is really talking about the inconvenient timeouts here, but he doesn't finish his thought because of Albedo's ultimatrix (or whichever device it is). He could easily finish with something like "randomizes the timeout function and scrambles the alien selection" or whatever (But carry on)
One thing that I've always thought about was that when Ben ever transforms into Echo-Echo, sometimes one of his clones dies. Does this mean Ben has experienced death? Do those dead clones' memories remain after Ben turns back into his human form? If so, that would be really dark.
No ben doesn't experience death when in alien forms The alien forms are just DNAs of Aliens, Ben can still remember the experiences in his alien form as his brain is the conscience of all the DNAs (they don't have a identity of their own) except Ghostfreak Regarding the dieing of the echo echo clone, well again it's just a clone so there is no effect on the main echo echo (the clone doesn't have a mind of it's own it's controlled by the main) When a alien dies it DNA just disintegrates and Ben DNA takes over, so it's not exactly like dieing
@@DeadpoolXI1 yes that summarises it, like we don't get hurt if we hit the tv, but we do remember what we watched on tv or that the tv got broken Good analogy
7:08 That's 11 year old Ben in the Omniverse flashbacks. You could argue that the eyes and Omnitrix color changed some time after the original series ended which would fit the continuity of the show.
maybe the flash backs are directly from bens head and that's how he remembers it. because they've been green for every other version so he just thinks they were green
@@shadowclaw7210 true, I was just saying that since his memory is potentially idetic, getting 95% on the plumber test, recalling obscure moments from when he was 5 and holding onto what he thought was a dream with the time travel event.
I feel like this leaves us with the implication that, when Ben dies, the omnitrix will be capable of taking over and puppeting his body. I think the real reason is, it is sometimes hard to tell apart a black silhouette on a green background, what was Azmuth thinking? Omniverse occasionally made retcons to previous series, though, so I think it is hard to pin down a real reason.

Let me ask you a question. Why would a grown man whose shirt says ‘Genius at Work’ spend all his time watching a children’s cartoon show?” Nerd: “I withdraw my question.”
I find the theory of it learning about Ben really interesting. I see the differences of the aliens between the original and alien force as just a different layout. Like updating your phone, it might change the way it looks but it functions the same exact way. Regarding the old Ben in the later series, I just see that as an aesthetic difference.
One part of explaining the artificial intelligence in the omnitrix is where Ben used echo echo to clone himself and the omnitrix having the data and know how to transfer bens intelligence to another person. On a slightly different note it has been shown to transform other alien species into different aliens whilst keeping the form usable and safe like when bens ultimatrix changed Kevin and Gwen too have a some what functioning omnitrix and where in omniverse where dr cycobos (can’t spell the name) steals a part of the omnitrix and transforms everyone else’s DNA code
That time the Ultimatrix transformed Gwen and Kevin was a mistake caused by the Weapon Master hacking it. It glitched and recognized Kevin and Gwen as "Ben" and so transformed them instead, while Ben stayed human
@@jvbon646 i know what you mean but i was saying that the omnitrix was able to stabilise there transformations as apose to destroy all aliens where the glitch there changed bens parents and azmuth's life code to the point where they dont know who they are
I always thought Ben got the wrong alien in Omniverse because he doesn't pay attention to the holographic display. Which has the faces of the aliens. Which are all small on a rotating disk. That Ben doesn't always have enough time to properly select.
I'm almost done with the entire series. And I came to a conclusion. Ben's not getting the WRONG aliens. He's actually getting the right ones. I believe to this very day that the omnitrix has a bit of sentience to it. Not completely but just enough. What it does is analyze the current situation and then gives Ben the alien it believes is more suitable to the task

But on omiverse episode 40 Max’s monster. Phil comes back with a mutation transforming in Terroraunchtula or however its spell that the field it generates caused the Omitrix to keep giving Ben energy conducting aliens like Shocksquatch, Feedback, Frakenstrike etc. Granted yes its outside interference, but this was with the completed omitrix built by The smartest guy in 3, arguably 5 galaxies. You think something like that would have been considered
Did he along with even death battle even say the watch have a fail safe to were if ben is ever in a really bad situation the watch will automatically turn him into a alien that would save him from the attack ?
Maybe it was turned off in the first two seasons of Alien Force because the Omnitrix trusted the older Ben and let him make his own decisions, but when Ben hacked the Omnitrix it decided he needed the training wheels put back on.
@@SuperSayianWarrior It can be argued that that is exactly the issue, with it adapting to the electric field instead of the entity that is the source of it. Even the smartest computer makes a few mistakes every once in a while.
5:25 - 5:34 wait so you're telling me that the entire time of Alien Force to Omniverse, he was nude the entire time ( and whatever species he chose at the time) or at least a little to no clothes?..... no wonder different species was attracted to Ben
Gwen and Kevin have seen some biology they never thought they would. Sometimes the image is still burnt into their brains when they sleep. I guess Ben is known around the universe for many reasons. Sorry, there are so many jokes you can make. It would be funny if _everyone_ is wondering why he's always naked, but Ben never even realized he was naked in those forms, but he did think it was nice and breezy.
Here’s what i think the deal is. Asmuth wasn’t lying about the Omnitrix’s design. When the face plate gets slammed it messes with the time-out function on all aliens listed. So even if he did get the one he wanted now he likely messed up his chances for that happening later as it might have set the damn thing on a cool down. Which could be necessary to keep from permanently scarring DNA with other alien patches. The omnitrix is a smart device sure but it falls to machine issues like user error.
Alot of the time the Omnitrix would purposely pick s different alien than Ben chose because the alien he chose is not best suited for the task One time in the classics a kid was about to fall off a cliff and Ben thought he could use stinkfly to catch him. Problem was it was raining that day and the wings would've got wet. So the Omnitrix transformed into cannonbolt to catch the guy who was about to fall off a cliff So I think alot of times the Omnitrix transformers into the right alien even when it seems wrong
The classic was the prototype thats why he got the wrong alien and in alien force ben hacked the omnitrix and in ultimate alien the ultimatrix isnt like the omnitrix and in omniverse it is made to be bens fault
I have this theory. We have seen lots of times how the onmitrix scans aliens, and remember that the main use that it was supposed to have was being a DNA enciclopedia wich eliminated permanently things like specie of language barriers, creating a somewhat utopic reality where everyone understands and is understood by others. So, since the omnitrix automatically scans any sentient life form it finds, it would have perfect sense if it scanned the human species. And we have seen that the onmitrix needs no more than one scan of a single member of a species to be fully able to copy it 100%. Basicly, the onmitrix took Ben's DNA as the human DNA per defect. The thing is that everytime Ben uses it, it takes a little bit more of his DNA with it. Having more and more DNA of the same species (and being phisically connected at all times to it) makes the omnitrix slowly mutate to adapt more to the user, more to Ben.
I think the omnitrix has a subconscious effect on Ben. Ben has so many aliens to choose from that if he sat there and thought about in a high paced situation he’d lose. So omnitrix chooses I predetermined alien so Ben doesn’t freeze up with choices.
I mean, the Omnitrix clutches up when Ben is about to die and gives him the perfect alien to survive due to the failsafes in it, so your theory has merit. I personally think the Omnitrix is somewhat conscious through Ben, like an AI that is built off of his personality to accommodate for Ben as a person but with the intelligence of Primus, like the Unitrix does for Eunice. So the Omnitrix has safeguards to keep Ben from getting carried away, failsafes to protect him when he can't protect himself from mortal danger, and it will give Ben the alien he need to survive in intense situations, not necessarily to get what he wants
I like to think when the Omnitrix was "looking" at the dog when it was controlling Ben's hand, it was basically using the Omnitrix symbol perhaps as a makeshift eye or something
I still like the idea that Ben gets the wrong alien because he hits it too hard, along with randomizing the settings that Ben never bothered to figure out as a kid. Later on in the series the omitrix is built stronger because Ben never stopped being too rough with it. Also if the device really is alive, it could be it bring really passive aggressive.
I always thought it was because the omnitrix was meant for his grandpa Max. The only reason Ben was able to wear it in the first place is because he shares some DNA but not his exact DNA so it only works some times.
So, if the omnitrix can connect on a neurological level, and can even control ben's hand, how do we know it can't do more? What if, over time, the omnitrix actually starts taking over ben?
I like the idea of the Omnitrix becoming Ben's friend instead. It'd be cool of the Omnitrix became a sort of sentient heroic object like a magical sword capable of choosing it's owner. After Ben dies the Omnitrix retains his Heroic personality and from then on can only be used be Heroes. Getting passed down through generations of Heroes until it has a mind of it's own.
There's a guy a Twitter who kind of ran with this idea. He's a NSFW artist do look him up at your own risk, but he wrote, and drew up some designs, with the idea that Ben would become the bad guy of his own series
Bro... Go take your fanficy ideas to a body horror forum or something. They are not bad ideas, but that's not the kind of stuff people who like canon are into.
Could it be a way for the Omnitrix to teach him not to just use the same old aliens for everything, showing him how versatile the aliens are & indeed himself?
i am surprised didn't include something like "tutorial mode" for ben. as in, azmuth's passive aggressive way to mend his mistake to not include a manual forits user and to improve his competence, in a sort of "condescendant teacher that genuinely wants the best for you"
This could be very true. A device that allows transformation into roughly a million different species, yet only displays them one at a time on the screen is bad UI design, unless, of course, the watch predicts the user's intentions and sorts the list with the most probable choices first. Given Ben's habit of turning the dial without looking at it, it's unsurprising that he get's the wrong alien half the time, he's essentially picking a suggestion at random.
@@zamu2 humans are way too useless, we cannot fly, have super strength (like many other aliens), we cannot control space or time, have weak bodies, we're literally useless. Better question, why even turn said dial anymore.
If we combine "You hit it too hard" and "it is sentient" it become a passive-aggressive action of the device to tell him to cut that shit out.

Ultimately there are 3 reasons in total:
1. The one Azmuth gives, that being that because Ben keeps slamming on the Omnitrix, he keeps sending it into random select mode by accident
2. The Omnitrix has a program that activates when Ben is in life threatening danger, that then forces itself to cycle through his transformations in order to find the one most fitting for the task at hand, with the exception of Alien X who is straight up broken
3. Using one alien form too much and too often can not only cause addiction, but it can seriously mess with the user's DNA. Which is why the time limit exists as well and why even future Ben doesn't use Master Control.

I think that:
If Ben turns his watch one time to the left and two or three times to the right, he gets, let's say, stinkfly.

Enderblaze Animations makes sense. It’s like the omnitrix goes with what’s best by its calculations unless what Ben wants is required or if there isn’t a successful outcome that the omnitrix can see
Lol who knows could be true

@@triplecrosscounter hmm pretty good theory for that but whats if its works like this.So the omnitrix store and pull out the DNA when transfrom/untranforms but i fact its also stord their user DNA,its could give the user good tierlist without thinking of it, its could automatic change and replace aliens DNA and you know when in danger, the omitrix will depends on what kinds of danger or problems he/she gettig in so its could chose an alien for thats and can fast tranforms them even if hey dont take a look at it
example: wecould see it clearly in originals whe ben almost get fried he turned into heatblast immediately
If the omnitrix didn’t give Ben wrong aliens half the time he’d only ever use like 6 aliens through out the whole show
Fucking truth lmao, and in omniverse he always wanted Humongasaur so imagine that...

If you look at the Omnitrix in that scene, Spidermonkey’s icon is the one selected. That also happened at least twice in UAF. Ben wasn't looking those times (both times on the Goop hologram when wanting Way Big and Rath) while with the omniverse display some are hard to distinguish

My theory is that the Omnitrix is able to acknowledge the situation Ben’s in and probably chooses the proper Alien for the fight, where some situations Ben chooses the same one?

Ben: Lets go Waybig
Omnitrix: lets give him the smallest alien possible.
Nanomech: WHAT?!
Good theory. This also explains why Ben gets new aliens (like Canonball or Ditto) at some instances:
Ben: "I wanna be * Alien *!"
Omnitrix:"I hear ya and understand, but I've noticed that you've used that one quite often lately. Perhaps you'd like to try another? See if you like it?"

Well, there you go. They probably changed the universe during the time-skip in-between series.

I don't think that's quite what happens
I'm sure if another species was an omnitrix wielder, it would give us a peak human
Albedo tried to use the omnitrix while actively being used, so it turned him into the current user
@@jacob3988 the omnitrix uses the DNA of whatever creature from each species it has scanned, and Ben was the first human it scanned, and Albedo purposely put the strongest of each species inside the omnitrix except for humans, maybe because he thought humans weren't worth it?

TLDW: Omnitrix has Ben's D.N.A,neurologically connected and gives the aliens it itself thinks would work best in said situation
Nice, i like this
Bro you got it, you hit it right on the nail. I think this is exactly what azmuth was gonna say to Ben before changing his train of thought
If this is it thank you it's a great answer and explains the nonsense
it would also explain why he almost always transforms into one of his lesser used aliens, because his go tos are the ones hes more likely to have used recently and thus still be on cooldown

Like how Jerry from Totally Spies seems to give the girls completely random gadgets each mission, but they seem perfectly suited to solve whatever problems come up
@@TheSecondVersion Jerry just has the monado. Nothing weird there.
The Omnitrix in Alien force from what I remember had a sort of software update at the beginning

2:13, so, yeah, I caught it too- Azmuth is really talking about the inconvenient timeouts here, but he doesn't finish his thought because of Albedo's ultimatrix (or whichever device it is). He could easily finish with something like "randomizes the timeout function and scrambles the alien selection" or whatever
(But carry on)
One thing that I've always thought about was that when Ben ever transforms into Echo-Echo, sometimes one of his clones dies. Does this mean Ben has experienced death? Do those dead clones' memories remain after Ben turns back into his human form? If so, that would be really dark.
No ben doesn't experience death when in alien forms
The alien forms are just DNAs of Aliens, Ben can still remember the experiences in his alien form as his brain is the conscience of all the DNAs (they don't have a identity of their own) except Ghostfreak
Regarding the dieing of the echo echo clone, well again it's just a clone so there is no effect on the main echo echo (the clone doesn't have a mind of it's own it's controlled by the main)
When a alien dies it DNA just disintegrates and Ben DNA takes over, so it's not exactly like dieing

This also makes me wonder, how does Goo reproduce?
Here’s what i think the deal is. Asmuth wasn’t lying about the Omnitrix’s design. When the face plate gets slammed it messes with the time-out function on all aliens listed. So even if he did get the one he wanted now he likely messed up his chances for that happening later as it might have set the damn thing on a cool down. Which could be necessary to keep from permanently scarring DNA with other alien patches. The omnitrix is a smart device sure but it falls to machine issues like user error.

Alot of the time the Omnitrix would purposely pick s different alien than Ben chose because the alien he chose is not best suited for the task
One time in the classics a kid was about to fall off a cliff and Ben thought he could use stinkfly to catch him. Problem was it was raining that day and the wings would've got wet. So the Omnitrix transformed into cannonbolt to catch the guy who was about to fall off a cliff

Dude,that theory is wrong
@@ganeshgaonkar7912 how do you know that?
@@orangejumps well one time in omniverse the omnitrex picked the worst for ben and it worked
"If you're gonna give me the wrong guy every time, why do you even have a dial?"
Still my favorite quote from the entire collection of series'.
what episode?
@@willhyde5026 i mean it is the most powerful tool in the universe. it would have a "current user is a dumbass" mode

Meaning that its aware of its environment thus supporting the idea that it could be analysing and selecting the right alien for ben
