Generator Rex steps up what an action cartoon can be during the major shifting of focus for Cartoon Network. With the on going success of Ben 10, can the same creators strike gold twice? Today, we take a look at Generator Rex to see what the show was all about, what happened to it and why I enjoyed it so much!

I wouldn't exactly say that it ended the way they show runners wanted it to end.
Imo, season 3 was really rushed and kinda ended on a cliffhanger as the pack are still around, and there is one scene where Breach is seen teleporting Van Kleiss away, hinting that the pack will return once again.
I also wouldn't say that it tied up all plot lines, considering we still don't really know how the nanite event went down. We were given some flashbacks, but it still didn't tell us the whole story, like what accident cause rex to get his powers? Was it caused by Caesar as he didn't elaborate on what the accident was?
Why were the consortium trying to get powers? Like why not money? Considering those people are wealthy and definitely in the high tier.

Now I desperately want a Rex reboot similar to Young Justice and Samurai Jack's new seasons (y'know, that matured with their audiences so they're now allowed to be darker). I feel it'd fit with today's quota of action cartoons, teens would eat it up & so it wouldn't be forgotten.
Imagine a series made today that was a mature post-apocalyptic sci-fi, with a hate-to-love teen protag raised as a top agent, who's also a mutant. And you got The Matrix & Hit-Monkey type characters in it. Sounds like something weirdly good you'd watch today; they just need to do it well.

One time they introduced a new block (I think it was Thursday as Friday was still it’s anime stuff) where you had Rex, Ben 10, Symbiotic Titan, Thunder Cats, and such. Then randomly thing would drop off, be added, straight up changed. Like I remember they had the first 2 episodes of Young Justice… and then didnt do another episode of Young Justice for 6 months. Then another week it would advertise a show as being on… and then it would be randomly like 3 hours straight of Ben 10. Then the next week new episode of Rex and reruns of Symbiotic Titan. Just 5-7 shows we see now as cult classics and/or lost gems just being shuffled like a deck of cards every week.

Generator Rex was one of the last shows on CN I was able to truly enjoy. It had that mature, anime inspired art direction that defined the Man of Action studio; it had a story that I'm still able to get invested in a decade later; the cast, even the single episode characters, all had well defined personalities; and even the villains all seemed to have a valid justification for their actions, even if the actions were wrong in the end, or the justification misled.
It was a well thought out show, and really captured the tail end of the peak of CN.
The shows that truly marked the end of this era, such as Adventure Time and Regular Show, were good in their own rights, but definitely showed that CN was moving away from a lot of the traits that made it a memorable TV channel. This has only been cemented in stone by shows like Steven Universe, cast in steel with TT:GO, and wrapped in kevlar with yet more adaptations of these styles of shows, such as the newer Ben10 that you mentioned in this video, that I hadn't even heard of before this.
Generator Rex can make a comeback, but only if CN is willing to concede on allowing Man of Action to maintain a consistent art and story direction and style with the previous seasons. If the art style is as fatiguing to look at as any other modern CN show, and especially if the story direction is as shallow and immature as I've found most other modern CN shows to be, it just won't work. It *can't.*

I loved Generator Rex especially realizing that Man Of Action made it same as Ben 10 which was my top show. It aired around 11-12 pm during my school days at night and I would watch every single episode everyday (sometimes they would get repeated) but one day, they aired the final two episodes and the show was completed and it was a really good way to end the show. What I really liked about it was that it was action packed and leaning towards the mature audience but the plot was awesome too 👌

I spent a big chunk of my childhood watching Generator Rex and imagining my adaptation of it. As crazy as it may sound but I use to imagine it so much that it came to the point where I thought that I'm Rex and had an imaginary friend called Noah. Sounds creepy, right? 😂 I think I had some sorta schizophrenia/ autism back then as I use to play all day in my head and use to draw my imaginations out in the air. I wanted to be like him so badly. The thing that I loved about this show is it was more scientific than ben 10 ever was, this can be called science fiction whereas shows like Ben 10 would more accurately fit into something like science fantasy. Anyways I just loved the show. Kudos to the creators of the Man of Action studios for making this masterpiece!

I’m so nostalgic for this show man, I always wished that it went on a lot longer than it did. I wanted multiple seasons of this, for it to get the love it deserved.
So disappointed it didn’t go on to meet its “proper” conclusion.

I’ve seen episodes of Gen Rex n Ben 10 together… another way is the both of them can create a 2nd gen Justice League n have stand alone live action movies bringing out the lore and adding in some extra missing info the original show couldn’t add… seeing them both in the DCU would be an interesting noval concept… again a person can dream 😅

    HELL YEAH I DO!!
Any Latino who grew up during this time remembers this badass show. He’s one of the only Latin American protagonists on tv that wasn’t a stereotype

This show is literally so peak, ahead of its time and I’d kill to get new content of generator rex, it still has so much potential with this well written plot and lore

This series was underrated, i low key like this more than the Ben 10 classic, is something about the atmosphere of this shows that makes me like this so much

seeing this video brought back alot of emotions for me. I used to watch this all the time with my dad, i was never a really big fan of it (more of a ben ten girl tbh) but my dad always invited me to watch it with him, and since i loved spending time with him i agreed.
He's in jail now, i havent had a face to face conversation with him in 6 years. but whenever he calls we still talk about how good the ben ten and generator rex crossover was. i love my dad

I loved generator Rex so much, I remember as time went that the schedule was so weird that more often or not I would miss episodes, honestly didn't know there was a final episode.
Hands down the Ben 10 and Rex crossover was so dang cool!!!
I really wouldn't mind seeing it come back in anyway, because the premise overall is fun.
