    You can also use HTTP Request instead of Join. I feel more comfortable with more direct things than extra plugins

      @notenoughtech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you absolutely can but things get complex once you leave the LAN. Join takes care of this nicely

      @@notenoughtech outside the LAN, instead of the local IP, I use the nabucasa link, and everything else the same (using node-red in Home Assistant)

      @@kraddoomsters yes, but if you want to flip the switch at home and keep the phones which are away from LAN in sync you will need to get their IPs updated. That's what join handles well.
      Plus on its own it's a plugin I can't live without thanks to clip share and more awesome features

    Old topic I know, but can this be used without Node red?

    How did you go about telling Tasker if your computer is on or off?

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use ping to update the tile every minute and extra ping when wake up is sent so i don't wait

    Does this work with Galaxy Devices? Or just stock android like Pixels?

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As long as you can see smart tiles or power menu options - it will work. This is available on Android 11. May be called differently on Samsung devices. On Xiaomi these are under smart devices

    I know I sound like a broken record but this is one of the reasons why I like Home Assistant ...

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha. You can't do this via home assistant can you? 🤪

      @@notenoughtech I'm not sure if I can use an emoji in a HA device name but surely I can have tile connected to my local server

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      But you won't get more than one way comms not to mention 3 way sync. I cannot imagine HA comes with that level of scripting in the templates

    • @FedericoGranata
      @FedericoGranata 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@notenoughtech I'm not sure what do you mean ... the tiles get their value from the HA server so the status of each device is updated

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FedericoGranata Can you customise these? I can have a single tile displaying temperature from every sensor, or change all tiles at once to suit the room preference :D

    • @notenoughtech
      @notenoughtech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, I'm not sure what Apple is up to nowadays, but if you have HomeKit Exposed, you can use these with their Home automation
