Thinking of using my aqara door sensor for smart door, missed that older video! Although the ali link to the magnets in the article is dead, do you know the spec of the magnet you used?
I'll check the link and see what's up thanks. There is no specs for magnets really other than polarity. Reed switches work best with specific polarity that's why I mentioned it
Awesome stuff. I always think Node-Red, zigbee2mqtt and Tasker are the meat and potatoes of Not Enough Tech! As an aside, I was getting sick of Google's behaviour, censorship and lack of a decent Pixel (I've had three break) so I actually bought an iphone 12 mini recently. The phone build, and video quality is excellent, but I'm not really enjoying the software experience at all. I miss tasker. However, you can create pseudo homekit devices in Node-Red, and have them appear in IOS's 'Control centre' screen which seems to be a rare example of ios customisation. If you could turn off ios's 'shortcut notifications' it would almost become a bearable device.
I'm with you on Google's take on the phone, they used to provide exciting phones at good prices, but ever since they offer more flagship configurations, you get the latest hardware numbers but no innovation, and pretty misguided Android development direction.
@@notenoughtech Hi! I was under the impression some Aqara sensors are not yet 3.0? For example, the temperature sensor is notorious for sticking to a specific router/coordinator even if it goes down (losing the connection). Do you have info on zigbee 3.0 for Aqara sensors?
Quick question. I've switched to Slaesh Zigbee coordinator from cc2531 and starting from now have the same problem. If my symfonisk controller is connected via my Aqara Zigbee dual relay, when I press the symfonisk middle button the relay 1 is triggered... Even with node red etc off, even with my server off :))) wired as .... Do you have an answer for this? How can I stop this?
Symfonisk supports direct pairing. You can bind a Zigbee devices (compatible) without a hub or coordinator) dorectly to each other. Try resetting both and pair it one by one to the coordinator
If you allocate a small budget every month you'd be surprised how much automation you can get in 6 months time. Getting everything at once can be pricy. But with a bit of patience and clever shopping you can get some decent savings. Check out Sonoff sensors I have video on that, as they are the least expensive
Hi Mat, Thanks a lot. I'm enjoying your nodeRED/zigbee videos, this one was kept simple, even I understood.
Happy to help!
Hi, how can we establish zigbee network in Node-red?
I do this with cc2531 and zigbee2mqtt

@@notenoughtech Cool thanks. Will try some 1mm thick ones anyway test it, hopefully be strong enough
They don't need to be very strong. In my smart door video you will notice I used 1mm one to magnetise the bold enough to trigger the reed switch

Will the Aqara sensors be compatible with Echo dot 4's zigbee directly?
Technically both will be ZigBee 3.0 so chances are high

@@notenoughtech Ok. I will try that. Thanks!
Making me want to setup my NodeRed deployment again.
I bet you you can't do it! 🤪
These are quite expensive... The whole setup must have coated you a lot!😀

Thanks Mat. I think you need some practice with your juggling. 😉
Probably wont make a career out of that
