This one probably Kojima's most easily understood story to date, sure in the set up it seems confusing, but once a few things are explained and you lose hours reading the interviews (seriously, read them) everything makes sense in a way things in the MGS series went awry.
Andre Ayton IGN even had to post this video...an ending that really doesn't need an explanation. This speaks volumes on how they played and reviewed this game...
It isn't just a walking simulator. But a trekking simulator. How many other games can be named that features details such as stumbling upon even the tiniest of pebbles and intricate animations when traversing the landscapes? It's a unique game and I love how it breaks away from an industry oversaturated with FPS (like Call of Duty), MOBAs (like League of Legends), and other mainstream games. Death Stranding is like an indie game with a huge budget.
I cry A LOT wen they said, BB is dead, really, I cry a LOT. This game is amazing, I don't care critic's, I care how I connect with the game, characters, and specially BB. Give this game a chance, it's incredible.
@@MycelialBoy A man that can control bees with his mind and killed 3 mins after and never been to any part of the story again. Yes MGS does have a lot super natural stuff but story wise it is pretty straight forward. As long as you can get the time line right.

It was just amazing...incredible game, it makes me cry, really felt the sadness in Cliff during the Vietnam cutscene, but I was a river when I see the final cutscene, just amazing, a masterpiece, but not a game for everyone.
Just finished the story... Death Stranding is by far the best story we’ve had from Kojima to date. The last few chapters were mind blowing and totally engrossing. Death Stranding really is a masterpiece.
This game got so many tears out of me, it's such a beautiful story. It's most certainly not for everyone, that said, I'm about 77h in as I've grown such an addiction to building things for my fellow Porters. (Enjoy those Roads and Ziplines, boys)
The war beaches are not Cliff’s personal beaches but the beaches of those tied to conflict and suffering in conflict. Hence the other BTs in those scenes.
I don't get the fuss over this video. IGN is allowed to give a low review score and still post videos about the story. They even praised the story in their review. It was the gameplay mechanics that they criticized.
the story is amazing and the gameplay is terrible and that's a fact and that's why I refused to buy the game and instead watch someone else play through this walking simulator
When your "stranded" on the beach and you talk he says some funny/interesting things on is "This has to be a glitch". I think its a really great small detail.
Really excited for a death stranding 2 if there is one, looking foward to how it will evolve gameplay wise and story. Kojima listens to his fans in his own weird way. First people were mad that raiden was the main in mgssol, then he made big boss the main in 3, people were upset about long cutscenes in 4 so he toned them way down for 5, people realised they missed longer cutscenes and a better story so he answered with this so I'm assuming ds2 will have a very diverse gameplay loop, but regardless this game was great and I couldn't put it down
Lou died, Amelie revived her for Sam, this either triggers the next extinction or cancels it out but I believe it begins the inevitable cycle once more.
It is a brilliant game. Game is over but we still can play as much as we want. I’m still playing after all this time and never get bored. Kudos to creators.
Throughout my entire play through I always thought Higgs was such a boring and by the books villain, but the realisation that the whole thing was just an act, and he was a puppet to Amelie had my mind blown.
Man this Is the best game I ever played. I cried so much at the end and especially when the song rolled out bb theme. And that Clifford entire cutscene made me cry continuously.
An emotional roller coaster. One of the best games of the generation. I played it expecting to be disappointed, but was greeted to one of the best games ever made. It's hard to explain but in the end the emotional moments were hammered in a very powerful way. Kojima is a legend, and a genius.
Lou/Louise could be Sam's/Lucy's child. Sam's wife supposedly died during the first void out event. However just as with Sam, Amelie may have returned his daughter - Louise to the land of the living, to be used in a similar way as the gun. Although its not stated Amelie may have returned both Lucy/Louise to the living, except Lucy was then kept as a still-mother somewhere. this is speculation of course
Im honestly suprised how many people didnt understand the ending at all by the time i beat the game it actually felt lik everything was explained well and i didnt need to look up an explanation i watched this video to see if there might of been some connections i missed but nope
The Death Stranding was caused by Amelie when she brought back Sam from death. She tore a hole in the beaches that separate life and death. I read a theory that it was helped by Cliff trying to come back to get Sam, but I don't know.
As someone who's seen the ending in game and searched for an explanation video: just repeating what characters say in the ending doesn't help or explain anything.
Well they definitely hinted it all throughout, but it seems like it also works to misdirect from other aspects, or mask it's own depth. So I guess the reveal is not the "what", but the "why".
@@EdwardViaTomato I just think Kojima could have done a slightly better job of introducing them as seperate characters. It was way to blurry from the start, so I never even knew when it was supposed to be Amelie or Bridget.
What exactly the death stranding is? Why's there timefall? How does that happen? What was the purpose of making BB ? Who carried out the Death Stranding?

Anyone else who wonder how Cliff got Sam out of the bb-pod in front of all the soldiers and Die-Hardman without moving his arms at all, or how he ended up carrying Sam when he's clearly not holding him in his arms as Die-Hardman helps him sit upright?
Couple things. 1. Anyone think its strange that Amelie is forgiven for killing so many people and trying to force mass extinction to happen early? 2. I am sure deadman says they they found Sam on his own beach not Amelies. 3. I realy want to believe that the floating people each represent the ee's of past extinctions, but honestly Amelie makes a point to point them out only when the friends show up to help Sam. 4. Knowing Kojima, I wouldnt be surprised if 5 friends had some sort of connection with the 5 extinctions. Edit: forgot to mention. Why is Sam no longer effected by the rain after reviving Louise?
2. Yeah they find Sam on his own beak 5. Sam isn't affected by the rain after reviving Louise because Timefall has stopped, at least for a while. That's just normal rain as all the beaches are disconnected from Amelie's and can't enter the human world
@@cash78626 realy? That eould make since, is there something in the game that points that out? Because Amelie and her beach is also gone post game, yet you can still run into bt's.

I love how people can leave stuff for other porters and we can all work together to finish the game. People were expecting a shoot em up and were disappointed but man did I love this game !

A bueautiful realization of something different in today's landscape of shoot em all mindless FPS games, a game that compels you to think and feel. Loved it!
by releasing Louis from the pod, it seems the timefall and BTs left the world. when he leaves the incinerator the rain touching him isn't doing anything and also the upside-down rainbow that indicated bt presence is back to normal.
All the characters have so much depth. I couldn't help but feel for Amelie. She is going against her purpose as an EE and while a total annihilation would be really bad for humanity, imagine living your entire life dreaming of the apocalypse and being pushed towards causing it. Imo, she is really strong in the end, thanks to her connection with Sam, to give him the choice to save the human race. In the end Amelie goes back to dreaming of the extinction, unable to fulfill her purpose. She goes back to being miserable, in a way Amelie is the hero here.
@@cupcakemcsparklebutt9051 Playing Devil's Advocate, the story is made more complex than it actually is. Even though the art direction is grandiose and unique, story still delves into the concept of the afterlife and bonding, topics which have been explored before in pop culture.

Absolutely agree.
Perfect summary!
Loved the ultimate message of the ending though...the extinction will come-its only delayed. The important thing is that life is worth living anyways as nothing lasts forever. Make the best of it.

The war beaches are not Cliff’s personal beaches but the beaches of those tied to conflict and suffering in conflict. Hence the other BTs in those scenes.
Nah they said in the story it was in fact Cliffs beach, cliff has the ability to control other BTs
Rōnin they just referred to it as cliffs beach for easy reference, he was able to govern and control them but they still weren’t his beach
I don't get the fuss over this video. IGN is allowed to give a low review score and still post videos about the story. They even praised the story in their review. It was the gameplay mechanics that they criticized.
People don't get that unfortunately
that’s because most people like to jump on the bandwagon

I wasn't gonna let lou die even if I had to go punch kojima and remake the ending; but, gladly I had no need for that lou is saved 🤧
Man this
Is the best game I ever played.
This game is one for the ages. Kojima is truly a genius to create something this creative...
Cant believe Kojima named Sam's mom lisa. Same as in PT
Best game ever for me. Last time I had similar feeling was after finished Metal Gear Solid on my PSX back in 90ties

Alot of people just fail to actually listen, because its all there.

A man does not cry, but when Sam shook Lou trying to resuscitate her I fvcking bawled my eyes out man
Heck even psychopaths cry lol so....
When Sam is hugging lou, there's 5 bb bt's that appear, maybe those are the 5 mysterious beings
'Die-hardman's connection to Cliff is that of an ultra-loyal friend and soldier.'
He literally tells Sam he loved Cliff but okay.
They "Sappho-and-her-friend"'d them LMAO
It all makes sense except the “Why of the Death Stranding”
The Death Stranding was caused by Amelie when she brought back Sam from death. She tore a hole in the beaches that separate life and death. I read a theory that it was helped by Cliff trying to come back to get Sam, but I don't know.
Optamizm um I think you wrong because they try to create BB(Sam) to prevent more voidout caused by death stranding
There’s been 5 Death Strandings before, why? Who causes them? Whats the origin of the EEs? What’s the afterlife?... did you guys like the game?
Marco Ramirez yes I love it but sadly there is no explanation about anything that you ask yet
But dang I wish fragile has better ending with sam
Yall got it wrong. Sam is a freeakin time traveller in multi dimensions with mixed strands
As someone who's seen the ending in game and searched for an explanation video: just repeating what characters say in the ending doesn't help or explain anything.
The last cutscene lasts an entire holly wood movie length lmao
Amelie being Bridget really wasnt a twist for me since I twisted them right from the start lol..
The game just finally pointed it out after hooours..
it's pretty obvious from the start
Sameeee, I first thought Amelie was young bridget. Its was her soul however (kinda the same thing)

Some chapters are literally just one boss fight
ch3 is so adictive haha
2. Yeah they find Sam on his own beak

You would think this game is boring based on a summary of gameplay ( delivering things from A to B ) but it’s addicting and so much fun . This is pure gold ❤
This game was trully a unique one of a kind experience, Kojima really attempts to connect the isolated together through so many metaphors in the gameplay, whilst telling an amazingly complex and a heartwarming family story. A bueautiful realization of something different in today's landscape of shoot em all mindless FPS games, a game that compels you to think and feel. Loved it!
What a great jorney ... thx Kojima, thx for all the positive vibes and the beautiful ending.
I think it's funny that Die-Hardman says he got his name from surviving so many battles, but his name is literally John McClane
Subtle isn't it😄
by releasing Louis from the pod, it seems the timefall and BTs left the world. when he leaves the incinerator the rain touching him isn't doing anything and also the upside-down rainbow that indicated bt presence is back to normal.
12 minute feels like an hour
All the characters have so much depth. I couldn't help but feel for Amelie. She is going against her purpose as an EE and while a total annihilation would be really bad for humanity, imagine living your entire life dreaming of the apocalypse and being pushed towards causing it. Imo, she is really strong in the end, thanks to her connection with Sam, to give him the choice to save the human race. In the end Amelie goes back to dreaming of the extinction, unable to fulfill her purpose. She goes back to being miserable, in a way Amelie is the hero here.
Kojima : "what if I make a vague storyline"
Me : *playing the game dont understand a thing* "Kojima is a damn genius"

I know yout comment was meant to be a joke. In all seriousness, the storyline was far from vague, apart from Sam and Cliff's story.
