    For everyone asking about varnish over the pigment powder-I personally don't use any varnish to set it, I don't like how it changes the effect/look of the powder so I'm just careful where I apply it so it's not where I handle the model/terrain for gaming etc!

    • @ThaDenz69
      @ThaDenz69 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ok; but if you *did* spray varnish it what product would you recommend please?

    • @emanueledibona5929
      @emanueledibona5929 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ThaDenz69 do not varnish it, it will change pigment properties. You can use AMMOMIG's enamel fixer. Use it BEFORE applying the pigments, then sprinke some over it. It will be mostly powdery once it dries.

    • @Vrooten
      @Vrooten 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ThaDenz69 Air brush thinner works fine. Personally I apply powder, fix it, and then wait for it to dry completely before adding more as needed as fixing darkens the effect. Don't fix the second pass. It always falls off to some degree unfixed, even just as a display piece.

    I think I’ve figured out what makes your videos so great. It seems you’re really landing the 80/20 rule, where you’re doing the 20% of the work that’s giving 80% of the results. Because your way always comes across as uncomplicated and achievable, and not tedious, while still producing amazing results. And though I’m inspired by many painting channels, yours is one of very few I would actually use as a reference before/while painting. Keep up the great work! 👏👍

      You hit it right on the head. Same here, very inspired by other channels, but this one is the one I actually use as reference!
      On a random note, I just started painting the Octarius KT terrain set and surprise, I happened to do the exact same steps in the beginning; Chaos black, bronze, leadbelcher and contrast on top (speed paint in this case).
      Amazing channel!

    Awesome. I have the two boxes worth already taped up and ready to go. Bought myself an airbrush kit. 200ml of black primer, but only have one small pot of warplock bronze in my arsenal. I’m thinking at least another one for the whole paint job. Some more leadbelcher too. I’ll probably be a bit more choosy about the additional bits. Maybe do every other bulk head with more colour. At least for now. As for the rust effect. Love it. But might be a step too far considering the amount I need to do. But love the overall look and effect. Great job as always.

    I’d give this a go if I already hadn’t started a different technique.
    Looks very fast & effective. I assume you used a satin varnish to lock in the pigment powders & keep the metallics from looking dull (like a matte varnish would).

    So question. I hate green contrast paints, mainly warp stone glow (or is it warp lightning). Because it doesn't seem to cover over well. I've tried multiple way from overloading the brush to barely adding any and it still streaks showering the undercoat layer. Would you say the new green contrast that you use in this video is better?
