I have a couple of these, and I am not really in love with them. ill give it a few more shots, but I really prefer a more typical square bill type bait. I really like the squarebull, but my local walmart decided that they would replace them all with choppo's and frittsides.

Agree, the bill on Biggun will smack off and is a weak point. That is not a problem with the Frittside Jr. The Jr is equally deadly - try on spinning if difficult to cast. Great stuff 👍

I used to buy stuff at random and then it just rusts out because I end up disliking it or it doesn't do what I thought it would. This type of content helps to expand my arsenal with minimal waste. A tip for casting the the fritss side crankbaits, it's an expensive tip but a dawia Tatula sv 103 or a Shimano curado 70. Both reels have shallow spools are were basically designed for throwing light lures. I use the sv 103 and can throw a fritts side 30-35 yds. The key to casting flat sides is don't throw hard, just loosen the tension and lob it.
Got a few Frittside's last year and loved the bait. Got a few "Biggun" size 5 Frittsides to try this year. Also the 6th sense flat 75 is money! Brown eye special!

I found the opposite with repsect to where this bait excels. Lots of hangups in wood, but on rock and shell beds, it's money. One of my fish at Fork was 7.2lbs on the deeper diving Frittside. I crank with Curado DCs and I get a lot more distance with DT-6 and the Frittside. Huge difference in casting when it's windy.
You can get acrylic sheets from a craft store, like hobby lobby, and make a replacement bill or adjust the action and depth range. Experiment with different sizes and shapes to get what you want the bait to do. Go a little thicker with your new bill for added durability.

One thing that nobody's mentioned and deserves mention is that these suspend dead still when paused. Super good in cold water. They don't shoot up to the surface when you pause it like lotta other cranks.
Another great video. You hit the frittside review on the nuts. They also smash the walleye up here in wi too. Tan mom color is my favorite also, 6th sense has a color named brown eye special that is very similar those colors to me catch fish when everybody is throwing red.
I’m wondering if the Fritts 5, compared to the 5 Biggun, casts better. It’s slightly heavier and smaller. I haven’t been in the water with either and will try this weekend to confirm.
Great video I just started painting baits for myself. When doing I am always thinking do I go for durability or action. I have jerkbaits that suspended perfectly with one coat of clear put second coat on they sink . My thinking is getting the right action is always first. Would love to know what you think and would love to send you a couple baits to get a real opinion. Thanks you for being you

Throw the frittside 5 on a slx mgl reel and you can sling it a mile. I had trouble casting it on a 200k as well.
