Berkley Frittside 5 Crankbait Fishing & Review (Worth Buying!)

  • In today's viDEBO I fish and review the Berkley Frittside 5 crankbait. This is an awesome flat sided crankbait. A lot of people think that the flat side is only used in cold water. However, I can see myself reaching for this silent little crank in a number of pressured situations. I'll discuss how it fishes, the construction, show some colors, and share my on the water experience.
Check out the Berkley Frittside Here:

Thinks for the review. I don't have any of those but do have some Lucky Craft squarebills that are silent I need to try. Specially with the fish be pressured more than ever this days.

Bluegill Frittside 7 was absolutely my best bait this Spring. Banging it off rocky bottom worked great. Dredging it through sand and then yo-yoing it a few times worked as well.

Gary Klein said it best about what separates good fisherman from great fisherman. He said good fisherman will catch fish on a lure, think it's the lure that caught the fish, and give all the credit to the lure. However, he said the only reason why the fish bit our lure was because we just so happened to have it tied on to the end of our line. It was us who made the effort to get to that spot where the fish was and it was us who made the cast to that fish. He concluded next time when we do catch fish we should give ourselves some credit and a pat on the back.

I've got 6 of the 5's and 2 of the 7's and 9's and always have a 5 tied on when I need a bite. The blue chartreuse is my best producer so far. It just feels like they deflect and avoid snags better than other cranks I've used.

Hey Debo, you mentioned hot water in reference to the Frits 5 in this video. I don’t know if you are aware, but there’s an upper limit to how active bass get as water temperature increases. I live in north Louisiana, so come the end of July and August the water gets into the upper 80’s/low 90’s and once that’s the case, the bass shut down like they do when the water gets below 50 degrees. They feed at night more, cause they do still have to feed cause their metabolism is higher, but not like they do when the temperatures are in the 70s, mid 80’s. They have to stay shallower too cause the oxygen levels are so low in the water. I know it gets plenty hot in Iowa, but idk how hot. Anyway, I think that’s what ole Mr Frits is referring to

I had a few burkley hard lures that came free with a rod and they were junk so I never gave them another thought, but then I was sent a wakebull 60 in my monthy box from BBM, I was very happy with the quality and hooks and I slammed a few nice bass on it so I ordered a few more.. I don't know why companies give free crappy baits away with stuff, all it did was make me not buy anything from them..
