Looking good, the black headlamp surrounds match the black accessories now. All credit to u for spraying for the 1st time, must be hard but it's the best way to learn.I am still looking for ur motorway in sunny Kernow LOL. Cheers, Poth.
Thanks! I think so too and I think Jess is also warming too it! 🤣 the spraying was just something I’ve always wanted to try and now I’ve done it. I’ve got some other bits I want to do it on so this was a good practice item.
Please please please check out the static and dynamic load rating for the roof and roof bars for the Mini . The only info I can find after a quick search is 75kg with a max speed of 130kmh . It doesn't say whether that's static or dynamic I'm afraid . But there's no way this system is under that when those lights are on and the boxes are loaded . As you say the tent alone is 50kg then the unistrut then the cross bars and the lights and the boxes. All pulling on the bolts holding the roof rails to the thin Mini roof . If it fails it will probably fail at speed and I'm sure the person/s travelling behind you will be glad you had your "fingers crossed" if it does . This indeed does "Look sooo cool" . You guys do some great videos and I like most of your content . But this looks like it would instantly void your insurance too if , God forbid , an accident were to happen . Have a look here at Tyler Thompsons video on a similar matter . th-cam.com/video/eMx232haRyo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=zDClZw3ojR-wdM2K Good luck guys and be safe !!! Fattrucker
So we did a lot of reading before this. The roof bars are rated to 95kg. The roof tent weighs 54kg, the unistrut with it being shallow and cut right down to only what we need weighs 6kg. The 32” light bar weight 3kg. The side ones weight 1kg each. The boxes weight virtually nothing. So let’s say 1kg for both (empty). So we’d be at 63KG for the whole lot. The boxes won’t get loaded up either due to this. Probably have tent bits in them, torches, bin bags, tow straps, that sort of thing. All the weights have been rounded up to the nearest KG too so it’s lighter over all but I wanted worst case. From the research we have done we would be fine at that. But happy to be proven wrong as like you say if it goes wrong the implications are not insignificant! Forget the insurance, more if someone gets hurt. We are using it locally and monitoring it to see how it all goes! So far it’s not been a problem. We’ve taken it out early morning and done some 70mph runs and sustained it to see how it reacts and all seems fine. Like I say happy to be corrected and we will change it if needs be. Definitely not too proud to say I’m wrong!
Thank you so much!! Yeah sure!! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/373772667109?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=coa8MbJOQdW&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=TYNDRCWWQ1q&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Jess, if you feel you are being coerced into turning your daily drive into a TH-cam sensation, blink twice and do a twirl. We can send help 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Think I would have stuck with the rattles for the amount of paint you had to do. It’s a lot of cleaning after you’ve finished with an air gun.
Yeah I could have done. But I wanted to give spraying with a proper gun a go on something that didn’t matter
How black is that Smart Car now ? 😃
Not very! 🤣🤣 the owner told me he wasn’t bothered! I insisted he said he didn’t care!
@@Jess_and_Alex_Adventure Understandable, I always thought the name Smart Car was a contradiction 😃😃✅
@@toulouselaplot5695 I'd be inclined to agree with that! 🤣🤣
Great work Alex!
Thankyou!
