I know from the outside it looks like this. But ultimately it’s a marketing budget. Where as years ago companies would have spent money on TV advertising or newspapers now they now still do a bit of that but target on social media instead. Social media is the best form of targeted advertising, if they weren’t doing it on here the money will still be getting spent on advertising realistically making very little difference to the end price of the product. I would also argue this is one of the cheaper E-bikes. Companies like Giant, Trek etc that are charging anywhere between £2000-£12,000 per e-bike and don’t work really with any social media are the companies you should be pointing this frustration too and questioning how they can justify that cost not the smaller like people Heybike.

It’s the only time I’ve ever done it! But this is on Park4Night, after speaking to someone local it’s already saturated in the summer and the quarry is owned by a Korean company who don’t care about people parking there. We don’t like to do that as we wouldn’t like someone to do it to us locally! We have shared this weeks but only because, the company that owns it is in Korea and they don’t care at all. In the summer it’s not uncommon for 25 vans to be there apparently! So it’s already KNOWN!

The arctic at -40 gets you used to it really quick! We have said in our next van a shower room / bathroom would definitely be going in! But you get used to it, you go for a walk or get the bike out and leave the other person to their privacy. Not all that different to at home. Just you have a door!

So the way I would look at it from my experience so far is.. buy a Chinese diesel heater if you are happy that you’re going to have to tinker with it sometimes. Buy an AutoTerm if you want to fit and forget!

That was my concern when the chap installed it. However due to the down turn after the silencer with the 45 degree out it doesn’t seem to be an issue. We’ve got alarms for everything in the van and nothing goes off!

That’s actually a very good point I forgot to put in! We are very happy with our 4D!

Autoterm are a Russian copy of German machines who then switched production out of Russia when they invaded Ukraine as sanctions where applied. No idea which test house conducted the certification process, hope its one we have all heard of. On the web site it states ISO 9001 which is documentation standard for a quality system and ISO14001 which is an environmental impact system; I guess as its an automotive product it should probably have an e-mark.

Honestly I didn’t know what to expect going into it. I’ve never been hands on with anything other than a CDH. But immediately putting the parts next to each other I was blown away! 🤯 I think tbh I’d only ever go Autoterm again if / when we do another camper!

@ yes definitely. They run so quiet don’t they. And the one on my vw has never let me down

So that was the other thing! The fuel pump you can’t hear AT ALL and the exhaust noise I’d say is half of what our old one was!

Isn’t it what Cornwall is known for? The whole going surfing, VW bus, run to the sun thing… Pretty sure people were van camping in Cornwall well before TH-cam. Everywhere has become more over run with vans as more people live in them than ever. Its a shame people have your attitude.

@@Jess_and_Alex_Adventure It is the sheer numbers that is the problem, plus far too many of them have zero respect for the SSSIs, don't clear up behind them and create fire hazards. It is now a serious problem. (Plus vanlifers clogging up every layby and parking where there are big notices telling them not to.)

It’s a JVC unit. I couldn’t tell you what model unfortunately, I got it used on MarketPlace!

We have the Bobil Air exchanger in ours. I’ve bought an element to go in the hot water tank so we will have the best of both worlds as in the summer you just don’t want the diesel heater on to make hot water to wash up!

Thank you! We’ve got heating done by the diesel heater. We don’t really plug in at all, with the 560ah Fogstar battery bank we don’t ever really lack power thankfully!
